Potter = Gold

The new Harry Potter book sold like hot cakes this past weekend!
The final installment in the franchise moved 8.3 million copies in its first 24 hours on sale in the U.S., setting a new record.
Deathly Hallows averaged more than 300,000 copies in sales per hour - more than 5,000 a minute.
At $34.99 a piece, the last Potter book generated far more revenue than the opening weekend of the latest Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, which came out July 10th.
So have you read the last book???
You like it????

It was slow in the beginning and it felt like the story was trying to fit in too much in too short of a time. I think she could have thrown in another 200 pages with lead up and explanation instead of creating an entirely new storyline (Albus' childhood) in just this one book. Good idea, B- for actual implementation. Plus, she left more unanswered than answered in the epilogue…hello what are those adults doing with themselves now besides having kids?
I got my book for just over €10 (close to €8) from Tesco..:)
I loved it! LOVED it!!
J.K Rowling is a pure genius. that last Harry Potter was really really good. Once I had started reading it, i couldnt stop.
I just finished it this morning. Sobbed and Bawled my way through it, but it was SOOOO good.
I LOVE HP. But I am seriously disappointed with the ending.
JKR copped out.
I've been waiting for 2 years, and I loved it! It was a little show after the first few chapters, but picked right up and I never stopped. I'll miss the anticipation.
FIRST! DUR!
i read it! and i loved it. it was an amazing book. you should definitely read it.
I LOVED it! It was BRILLIANT!! I read it all in less than 19 hours!!!
fabulous book!! i read it in about 24 hours, hardly slept, and I'm sorry there's no more. It was only €13 here in Ireland and the queques at 1.30 saturday morning were verrrrry long.
EHMAGAWD!!!
i got the book!! and finished it yesterday….
fuck… now im depressed its all done lol
Read the book and it was a good book, though like most I agree the epilogue left much to be desired. I also agree that the epilogue in particular sounded like more of a fanfic than something JK would write. Minus the epilogue I did enjoy the book a lot. I was only bothered by 1 of the deaths, as she really went into how it affected Harry. The rest of them just seemed like a "by the way so and so died". I know there was a lot going on but it seemed like the book spent a lot of time with the "3" moaning and bitching and not getting anywhere. Some parts of the book were wrote brilliantly though. Not sure if it is my favorite but it was a good book for the most part.
I LOVED the book. I finished it yesterday at 5 am. I thought it was very well written. And I especially loved the epilogued. I thought it gave her fans an extra something special. Without it, people would have wondered. Did they end up together, did they have kids, and so on. And I especially loved the talk Harry had with his son Albus before he got on the train. I found that everything pieced together perfectly in the book that I was wondering from the previous book. Loved it!!
I bought it midnight Friday and just finished this AM. I laughed, I cried, I loved it! My daughter read it as well and she loved it too. I am sad that it is over and it is read. Will miss my Harry!
Homer - thanks for being a douche. I didn't realize that you had scurried over to Wikipedia so quickly & gotten a review up. I hope you get stabbed in a very tender spot someday. Kisses!
Yep, and it was wonderful !
I cried like a baby during some parts, but I'm glad I keep an open mind about some people in the book. I could not believe I was done with it on Saturday.
J.K.R. tied everything up very nicely, and she even left where she could put out new books, or let someone else pick up where she left off.
Reading it now, trying to make it last. I don't want it to end!
I thought the book was amazing. It pieced everything from HBP perfectly- all of the questions I had previously. I really liked the epilogue. She wrote it specifically for her fans and I thought it was a great way to end it. I especially liked the exchange between Harry and his son Albus. I thought it was really sweet. I thought it was really nice to know that the couples who you wanted to be together ACTUALLY ended up together. I felt that most of my questions had been answered in this book except for how Neville ended up with the sword.. and how Harry was a descendent of Pervelle.
It was incredible. I loved it.
I thought the book was amazing. I read it straight through and couldn't put it down. Was pleasantly surprised about Snape!
this was an amazing book… she truly out did herself.
I thought it was weak. The first couple chapters were good but after that it felt like she was rushing through it. It didn't have the richness of the other books. Too many points were wrapped up in too short of a time span. But, I did LOVE how she dealt with the Snape issue.
I thought it was amazing!! I laughed and I cried all the way through. It was hands down Rowling's best yet. A movie will never be able to do this book justice!! I liked the epilogue… It gave some closure. Hopefully Rowling does another series!!!
i loved it..best ending ever….didnt like the 19 years later thing…im sad its over
love you perez
If you had preordered at amazon, it was like $22
Love Perez, loved the book. Great ending to an awesome series.
I'm a nerd and proud. I read the book and loved it. I'm sad there are no more Potter books to look forward to but I'm kind of glad. I'm 19, this was my teenage thing and now it's done. The future is now! Yes, I'm that nerdy.
Yes it was so good! Full of crazy shit and an awesome ending! Good job JK, I wish I was as brilliant as you! Thank God it's over though…I hated all those cliff hangers and the two years in between each book!
Read the book, it's lovely~! i love it ~ so sad there's no more Harry Potter T_T I cried so hard xD
I loved it! This was the only book that made me cry.
Ahhh!!! Damnit!!! Why didn't you TELL me there were gonna be SPOILERS!!!???!!!
But really, good book, not worth the hype, but good for Rowlings, she certainly got more than 15 minutes
It was exhilarating. I absolutely loved it. I want to read it again.
I loved it - it answered all the questions i had except for maybe a couple. I cried through the entire thing and i love love love the end
its great so far!!!!!!! and i only paid $22 for mine at barnes and noble and at target they had it for $17
I looooved it!!! It all came together in the end and it was well worth the wait… I might start to read it again in a little while!
i loved loved loved that book. i have read the ending over and over. neville recieved the sword the same way that harry did in the 2nd? book. the sorting hat will deliver exactly what you need if you are truly deserving. and we all now that neville was deserving. even this is making me get teary eyed.
It was amazing, I couldn't have asked for a better ending, she explained everything. JK Rowling is amazing!!
It was absolutely brilliant!
I liked it except the Epilogue, which was kinda fluffy… but necessary I suppose.
The book is worth it! I think I cried for about three hours!! I'm sad there won't be anymore
lupin, tonks, fred, dobby, madeye moody, colin creevey, crabbe, and snappe die.
LOVED IT… although i agree the epilogue was unneccesary and hard to follow
Loved it!! I read it in about 9 hours! I think it was the best story yet. I am sad there will be no more!
The ending totally sucked ass.. what a horrible waste of paper! Its sad that she was influenced by everyone not to kill harry..
I dont like the rosy happy ending .. i might as well have bought a bunnie rabbit and dyed it pink and fed it candies..
PUKE
BE NICE TO THE NERDS…..THEY INVENT ALL THE TECHNOLOGY!!
The book was brilliant! I was so afraid the end would disappoint me.. but it didn't! Excellent book, well worth the price.
i LOVED it. its the best in the series and the best book ive read period. jk rowling is pure literary genius. although i cried lots of times. its like each death is losing a friend. im already re-reading it!
LONG LIVE HARRY POTTER!
this book was horrible - it sounded like a 12 year old girl wrote it. really - who marries their bf or gf from when they were 16?! (except maybe white trash) I had downloaded this version when it was leaked last week, read about 50 pages and then trashed it because I was certain that this was fan-fiction it was so lame. I want my $37 back!
Gonna miss Fred :*(
I read the leak on the computer, then bought the book and read it again! I cried as well…it was perfect! I'm sad there won't be anymore books! Well done J.K. Rowling, it was brilliant!
I'm so happy with the ending. But it was predictable.
Harry lives. Voldemort dies.
Hermione & Ron have children.
Harry & Ginny have children.
now im all depressed cuz there's no more!!
2 words - absolutely fantastic.
i only read tha first one
I actually liked the 19 years later. I was happy to know that Harry and Ginny ended up together and that Ron and Hermione were together. I loved that he had 3 kids and they were all named after his loved ones. I think it's great to hear him talk about Snape and realize that he really understood what he did for him. I also liked how they mentioned Teddy and how involved Harry was in his Godson's life. She definately left room for another book explaining what went on in those lost 19 years.
i love it.
Dumbloedore DID die, but he communicates with Harry.
A ton of deaths…Mad-Eye, Hedwig, Dobby, Fred, Tonks, Lupin and even little Colin Creevy.
Snape was always good. he loved Harry's mother from childhood (before Hogwart's) so he was pledged to protect Harry for her sake. Harry's eyes were the same as his mother's, a constant reminder to Snape of his undying love for Lily.
Tonks and Lupin have a baby boy (Teddy) and Harry is the godfather.
Bill and Fleur get married.
Percy comes back.
Hermione and Ron get together.
Harry and Ginny get together.
Voldemort dies, obviously.
The ending is a bit disappointing, but everyone lives happily ever after.
Sorry, but I told you it was spoilers.
Disappointing.
There were too many plot holes.
Not enough Hogwarts.
Too much explanations at some points and not enough at others.
I'll try to read it again slower this time to see if I like it better.
BTW…who did magic late in life? Wasn't that one of JK's spoilers?
What's with this obsession with this Harry Potter shit. I cant stand those movies and books pathetic. Dont you people have anything better to read
JAMES PATTERSON "THE QUICKIE" i finshed that book within 48 hours.
i luv the book it was great and the person who does magic in late life is well presume to be Nevile well he did do sooo much better that what they think on mugglecast any way and jo's amazing!
though she didn't kill harry and killed fred instead, I LOVED it.
but I still hate snape, I don't care if he was the bravest man in the world.
Read it….LOVE it….sad because there will be no more.
I think she wrote the epilogue so that a person couldn't write a book based on her series where Harry or any of those people died.
Also, maybe you don't understand the obsession with the series but some people don't understand the obsession with Lord of the Rings and I know I don't understand the obsession with Lost. To each their own.
im still reading it and i love it so far.. its a really great book!
i loved it i cried just about the whole time. took me about 2days it was the best one ever , i could not have ended more perfectly. i am at a loss for words and sorta sad to see it end but it was perfect!! PERFECT!!!! LONG LIVE HARRY JAMES POTTER - the boy who lived
Anyone realize it's JUST A BOOK?
Over it!
i loved it i loved it i loved it…..there could of never been a more perfect ending than the way it did, i just about cried thrugh the whole thing and burst out laughng at others, it would not of been better, its sad thought to see it go, no more questions or theorys thought i may add my theory was correct!! pats on my back lol. but it was beautiful and sad and wonderdful…Long live HARRY JAMES POTTER the boy who lived
It was the best book yet. It made me cry a little. Boo hoo to being the last one though.
34.99 a piece!
they're 40% off right now at barnes and noble
i loveeeeed itt ;D
I loved it. But I'm completely upset it's over!!!
It was FUCKING AMAZING JK ROWLING THE BEST!!!
The whole book was amazing, was perfect and I agree with the person that wrote that it could be a little bit longer… i actually CRIED all the Eplilogue.. I think it (altough i was already between crying and laugting and exitement) actually hit me it was the end. Shoot i think about it and i want to cry again!!! :"( it's really the end! :'(
Great read the middle was a little drawn out kind of lingered in one place a little to long But….. When Mrs Weasley used the B—- word I almost lost control of my bodily functions!! The final book will by far make the best MOVIE! I feel like she answered all pending questions and gave us a great end for the fantasy world we have all fallen in love with
I loved it. I was finally vindicated in my Snape love, predicting that he loved Lily and getting it right felt sooooooo good.
Read it - LOVED IT it was amazing - read it in 5 hours w00t
love u perez
frm pakistan
It felt rushed. I was disappointed, I thought there will be more action and that Harry would actually be able to do some of the defending himself. (Honestly it was not until the end he showed it). In other books Harry seemed to grow with the circumstances, this was not the case.
The best book ever. I laughed out loud, I sobbed uncontrolably. It was perfect.
it was grrrreat…paid $21 on Amazon…stayed up till 330am Sunday to finish. FANTASTIC…it ends the way you want it to.
I believe that most Hard back novels come out set at $35.00. I was actually reading something about small local bookstores not even carrying Harry Potter because they would have to sell it at full price in order to make any money on it and the big guys are selling it at 1/2 off or at a loss and they couldn't compete.
Also most of the wizarding world seems to live more in "pre electricity" kind of early 20th century. With candle and torches and so on. Well people did get married by 16 then! Also they are even trends now, in times of great war and strife people get married and start pumping out kids faster and younger than ever.
read it in 16 hours (: loved every min!
Am reading it now and so far I love it!
read it, and AMAZING.
It was wicked but the epilogue was like bad fan fic. Too much finality and confusion.
Read it in less then 18 hours and loved every page.
I fucking love it and I am currently mourning the loss of my childhood now that its over.
seriously the best book of the series. absolutely loved it!
I loved it!! its the best!! Thanks perez!! mwa!!
My grandson gave me some of the books for xmas and my birthday. I have to say I just didn't want to read them. I was totally hooked after the first book and read them all one after the other. It was a wonderful journey and I called my grandson (9yrs old) and thanked him for the great gift. I just hope the movie does the book justice, which they hardly do. Now I am looking forward to watching the movies..
omg! when i knew they were selling them in mexico i couldnt believe it!
i buyed it the 21 (: its amazing! right know im in chapter 16
haappy birthday daan(:
The new book is incredible!!!!!!!!
fuckharrypotter
The final book was amazing. The ending was perfect and JK's writing was incredible, like always. Sad to part with this series, it meant so much to me. I will most definitely keep rereading these books throughout my life, though. Hope she creates a new series that has to do with this!
the book was amazing. full of action from beginning to end. I loved it!!!! i wish there were more coming but there aren't and now i feel lost i have nothing to look foward to now
(
Absolutely LOVED it! Couldn't have asked for a better ending.
I was definitely one of those people who said these books were for kids and made fun of my friends that read them (even though I do read every other type of book), and even had to be dragged to the first movie by a friend. After I saw that first movie I was hooked and HAD to know what happened next. JK Rowling is a wonderful author that got children (and some adults) reading again. This last one was great, but I agree that she should have said how the wizerding world dealt with the aftermath. Not for kids, I was suprised at some of the different things in there. Loved it though and very happy with how it ended.
im listening to the audiobook right now(jim dale version)! i feel like an idiot because i read the leaked picture version and about five minutes after i finished it, my dad was like "hey i've got the typed up .pdf version" omg it was awesome! and now i have the book itself whick is awesome too!!
i think the book was amazing and it was soooooo great! i loved the ending and i love how he has three kids, and he has married ginny. and teddy + victoire (bill and fleurs daughter…right?) was cute…i knew he wouldnt be dead, and i knew snape was good !
I'm not done reading the book yet since I'm taking turns reading with my husband. But so far its amazing!!!!!! Should have gotten my own copy, cant wait for the movies!
