Those poor children are just work horses for their very sexually active parents. I do believe in birth control but since their very religious oriented why not trying abstinence???? You know nothing in their religion says you have to have sex like bunnies.
It makes me sick cause if you even watch their specials girls have to make household chores and the boys have to help their father. The community around them give them basically everything so, yeah if i had that kind of people around i would be having 100kids too.
Come on people that does not apply to the real world! How many of you out there work 2 jobs just to support your 2-3 children. Insane people

This family does have too many kids, but they take no money from the government and they have no debt, and they built their own home. They are good people raising their children the right way. You should do a little more research on them. Now in Sacramento, we have the biggest family in America and they are Russian and they are on the governemnt tit. These people have no credit card debt, no mortgage debt and it appears that their children are all really well adjusted. It isn't my thing, but their religious practice (Quiverfull?) dictates they have as many children as God blesses. Not only are they NOT a drain on society, but they are VERY responsible with their money (unline the rest of America that is swimming in all sorts of debts). Live and let live.
well their thing is that when they were married she was on birth control.. they wanted a kid, she came off it, and she miscarried that pregnancy. so they don't do the whole birth control thing anymore. they said they would take as many children as God would give them. why they would want 18 i dont know, but if they can care for them and not live destitute, then good for them!

I have never commented on an article here, but i actually know these people. The husband is the cousin of my old Sunday school teacher. This couple never wanted publicity, but they honestly believe that God is blessing them with all these children. They are really nice people and all of the comments here that are negative are completely wrong. I think the couple is crazy to have that many kids, but they can afford to support them and, of the kids that are old enough that I have met, they are suprisingly well adjusted.

I've watched their show a few times, and although it is certainly weird to think of having that many children, I think they have a wonderful family. She raises 17 kids, AND teaches them, in a very loving home. If they can provide and care for all of them, who cares how many kids they have.
I read a review in a magazine where a lady said that this family is wasting our natural resources. lol. . .did you even watch the show? They make their own meals and wear hand-me-down and homemade clothes. . .they're more resourceful that 99.9% of us!

I have three boys, and have a difficult time giving them equal attention; how the hell can you do it with 18 kids?
