ACCORDING TO REPORTS, THEY HAVE BARRICADED THEMSELVES BACK INSIDE OF THEIR MOTHER'S UTERUS AND REFUSE TO COME OUT. 25 LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE IN THERE AS WELL TRYING TO GET THEM LEAVE PEACEFULLY. One of the older boys was really talented at baseball & wanted to play on a team after school. The parents said no because it would have taken away from "family time" and Bible study.

I have 2 kids and got my tubes tide. Didn't want any more, but to each is their own. I have seen the show and no the husband doesn't make alot of money, but they are able to stay within their budget without accumilating debt so more power to them. They are not hurting anyone, they are not violent and they sure are not taking any of our taxes to help support their kids…Leave them alone. If you don't like what their doing then don't watch it. 18 kids…. i don't think i could ever see myself or another woman having that many kids. i am glad i only have my boy and my girl. people should be happy with what they get instead of having sex and contributing to overpopulation, because they aren't happy with just 2 or 3 kids. besides, i heard that the normal woman, after having 7 kids, is at a higher risk of dying during childbirth than a mother that's had only 1 or 2 kids. so maybe that should be something mrs. dugar should think about…

Why do so many of you people care about how many kids she has. Every child is a blessing and if they want to keep having kids than I hope God blesses them with happy and healthy babies. One family is not the sole reason for Global Warming, overpopulation, etc. Some people can't even have children so I figure one family having lots of them is not going to make a difference. They are self-sufficient, have a good family dynamic, and they aren't hurting any body so let them be.
How the fuck do they house, feed, and take care of them all. And how are they able to educate them all. I hope those kids are prepared to kiss ass for scholarships and work their asses off to put themselves through college. If they go that is.

I think this family is revolting. I can't figure out why TLC and Discovery keep glorifying this family. If they had been black or Hispanic would there be all these TV shows? I feel for the kids who do all the housework, cooking and child care….what does Mama do besides lie on her back? Those kids have very little free time to be kids. Their days are filled with housework and school and their evenings are filled with Bible study. They don't even have outside friends. I can't wait to which one will first grow up to trash the lifesyle! Oh and read about "blanket time" practiced when they are babies…they get hit with a wooden spoon if they crawl off the blanket. Sounds like abuse to me.

First of all, having that many kids is the oppisite of child abuse, child abuse is aborting your baby while it is in the womb because you are so selfish that you wont even have more than two kids; and from knowing families that have more than 10 kids, by and large they are happier than the average small family. For the second statement "they are all homeschooled, they must be so dumb" That is just a stupid statement. Kids that are homeschooled are usually smarter than public schooled kids, I was homeschooled during high school and started college courses in philosophy, english lit., and latin. I also know a family who has 12 kids and the three oldest ones got to college when they were 15. And for the last statement "havent you ever heard of birth control." Do you think they are from the stone age?!? Of course they have heard of it, they just are open to life and dont decide to have kids or not. Its natural to have children, and guess what our planet is not over populated! There is plenty of room in this world, but so many of you are so selfish you wont admit it.

These folks are taking care of their own children, and they all seem to be well balanced kids whom the parents obviously love. You can say what you will about societal responsibility…. however how many women have multiple children with multiple fathers and just expect the state to foot the bill. These people are not on the dole and the Dad works and provides for them. If they are offered money for documentaries about road trips with their gazillion children….who cares? You know what, this is nice. This is a monogamous, very much in-love couple, who just happen to believe the more children they have the more they are fulfilling what their religion wants them to do. If you've seen those shows on TLC or DH, you will see that Jim-Bob actually has a job and the family is not on welfare or state-funds. They do accept donations, which isn't a bad thing. They also are very hard-working, and all of the children have said they want a profession, some say they want to be teachers, midwives, firefighters, police officers. That doesn't sound like a family planning to be on welfare for the rest of their lives. Plus they get money from the shows that produce them. Same thing as that show Jon, Katie and 8 kids or Little People, Big world. Doesn't stop you from watching, hey? I can't imagine what they teach 18 home-schooled kids. The public schools in Arkansas are the worst in the country, but let's be serious. I wonder how much time is devoted to religious studies, which do you no good in real life, which is what the 18 kids will face once they all reach 21 years of age.
I think it is unfair to have all those children and make your other kids take care of them. I saw a special on this family on TLC and their daughters have to do like 60 loads of laundry a week. They need to be children, not servants for their parents. Sorry if this offends someone, but I have a hard time believing two parents can take care of more than about 5 or 6 kids at a time…giving them all the attention and time that children need.

I have watched the show many times and i never seen a fam… so well put together and organized and all those kids i have 3 and am not even close to that put together she is a great mom i am sure she has her moments but i think they both deserve a free get away for the two of them they are wonderful people and thank god their children are all normal i have 2 boys with autism so thank her lucky stars i wish i could have her luck
