A sequel to cult film classic Donnie Darko is in the works.
Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!
The title of the sequel is S. Darko and it starts shooting on May 18th.
Daviegh Chase will reprise her role as Donnie's younger sister. The cast for S. Darko also includes Ed Westwick (Gossip Girls' Chuck Bass!), Briana Evigan (Step Up 2) and Justin Chatwin (Dragon Ball).
The story picks up seven years after the first film (and Donnie's death) when little sister Samantha Darko and her best friend Corey are now 18 and on a roadtrip to Los Angeles when they are plagued by bizarre visions.
There's no Donnie at all in the new film (sorry Jake Gyllenhaal fans), but there will be meteorites and rabbits.
We really wish they would've left Darko alone.

OH NO!! This is one of my all time favorite movies. How can they just up and make a sequel several years later? Of course I'll want to see it, but I'm pretty upset about it. I have a feeling it's going to be a craptastic movie.

I've never been the type to get so into movies that I just LOVE them, but Donnie Darko is the exception. I love that movie, all the characters, just everything about it. I definitely will not be watching this crap. I hate how everyone in Hollywood thinks it's ok to butcher a work of art. Just leave shit alone already!!

Dumbest…idea…..ever. Sequels are rarely as good as the first film, and in this case, there is simply no possible way it can be better than Donnie Darko. I have seen DD easily 20 times - I won't be seeing this.

Really bad idea. The theatrical release of Donnie Darko was pure genius. The director's cut sucked ass. I suspect the director will be given carte blanche with the sequel, which will mean that it will SUUUUUCK. There was a reason Heathers 2 wasn't made. Brilliant films like Donnie Darko should just be left alone.

I don't know why they're making another Donnie Darko movie, the first one didn't make any sense. I seen the movie over 6 times, and I still do'nt get it. If they get "Frank the Bunny" back, at least James Duval who played the bunny will at least have a job again. He's a really nice guy, and cool.

It's really hard to say! Without jake i dunno if it will be worth watching, and after seeing Richard Kelly's follow up to donnie darko, "Southland Tales", I"ve gotta say i can't really expect much from a sequel, but hell, who am i kidding, i'd still watch it all the same.
Not sure how I feel. Daveigh Chase is a goddess after The Ring but still…without Gyllenhaal??

Donnie Darko was a shit film. I don't see what the big deal is. The best part was the soundtrack and Drew Barrymore's bit about "cellar door". The rest SUCKED!
