Good news for her Madgesty!
Reports are surfacing that officials in Malawi are finally going to grant FULL adoption rights to Madonna and her family.
Her Madgesty has been caring for her son David on an 18-month interim custody order that was granted back in 2006.
Madge and her family were recently being monitored at their London home by Malawian social workers to ensure they were suitable parents.
A leaked official document referring to Madonna and Guy Ritchie, states, "Mr. and Mrs. Ritchie have shown a strong commitment in providing the infant with all essential needs like love, safe home environment, care, protection, material as well as emotional support."
It adds that David had "bonded well with the couple and other key members of the household" and that he "continues to develop into a happy thriving toddler. His survival, growth and development is excellent."
The court will hear a full review of the case next week on May 15th.
Madonna is expected to return to Malawi next week to continue her charity work. She will not be required during the hearing though.
An official says, "She will have to come to court to sign the full adoption documents later."
There are still those opposed to the whole adoption, such as the Human Rights Consultative Committee, which as "friends of the court", have decided to challenge the adoption. They are seeking a full review of the interim order granted to Madonna.

The end result is that people who cannot have biological children and are not wealthy, cannot afford to adopt because all the celebrities and rich people drove the prices to sky high.
As opposed to the media whore, Angelina, it seems Madonna is actually providing a stable home for her adoptive son.
She didn't go off and bought more and more children, just to parade them all over the world and actually offered the father of David, money to raise his own child.
Only after he declined and asked her to take care of his son, she took it upon herself to adopt David.
Angelina simply bought one child after the other, regardless of their adjustment to the new life, she changed Pax's name at the age of 3, so would be more commercial, she took awat Zahara, just because her mother was too poor to fight her in court and has to live with the notion that a rich white woman took her child away from her and from her real country.
You are wrong to say that this is a good example. She is basically buying a baby. The child's father and grandmother are still alive, he had family and extended family from which he was taken. If she really cared about him she could have used some of her squillions to set up a community support trust, agricultural business, something where the boy, his family and the whole community could benefit from and the child would not have been taken from them. Now there is a problem in third world countries where people are abandoning their children in the hope that some Westerner comes in to adopt them (buy them). It perpetuates generations of children taken from their birthplace, culture, families for what - to go to some self-obsessed celebrity's house, where broken families are the norm, drugs, partying and alcohol fuelled sex tapes are just the norm for their offspring? PLEASE - you have supported the wrong party in the case.

He was NOT starving. His father has remarried and has other children. He HAD a family. If madonna cared, she could have sent money for food to save him. She could have easily supported his ENTIRE family to keep them together. But she'd rather take a child from his family. She wouldn't have taken him if he was an AMERICAN child with special needs. You don't have to go to RUSSIA or China or Africa for crissakes to get a kid- you CHOOSE to. every week in the Seattle paper are great kids looking for homes. She is doing so much for Malawa plus saving a child that was sick and had no medication and this is the thanks she gets….even now. The child is happy and healthy. I can't believe there are still some factions trying to take David away from Madonna and her family.

How heartbreaking. With her money, she could easily have given them enough monthly income to live on until David was 18 and father and son could be together, and choose to adopt a child who has no one. I couldn't create true happiness built on someone else's misfortune. I guess David is better off monetarily, but his father must watch his son from a distance; and how will David feel about this when he becomes a man?

YOU have got to be kidding me. There are millions of orphans in Africa! Only a fraction of these kids are being adopted in general and there are only a handfull of celebrities adopting these kids. But now you are seriously trying to spin some and make some negative point that these few celebrities are ruining it … creating the idea that some Africans place kids in orphanages so a celebrity will come and adopt them. Wow, seems a little farfetched … especially if you think about the fact that these people in rural areas in Africa are hardly aware if even a little of the existence of these celebrities …

Dude, she offered to pay money to make sure David had a good life in Malawi, the father declined, he wanted her to adopt the kid. He went to court to testify this. The kid was in an orphanage (without anyone visiting him), while the father and his new wife already had a few other kids that he was taking care of. She has gone back with David to visit his father and will continue to do so. She has set up a lot of programs in Malawi to try and help more kids.
There has been a very thourough investigation by social workers and the Ritchies are proving to be great loving and supportive parents.

In general it is very sad that adopting a kid from a foreign country costs so much money. Especially the fact that some governments get more money for a kid than they will ever be able to spend on that kid is to me very saddening. While in most of those countries it is pretty clear that when you are a kid in a orphanage you have little chance of a succesfull, healthy life. But still these governments make it very hard for these parents to adopt. In some countries though there is a different reason for these high adoption fees. A lot of the money goes to the orphanage so they can take care of the many other children that are usually in there.
In the Netherlands people who want to adopt a kid from such countries but have lesser income can use a fund and they get financial help from the Dutch government to make the adoption happen.
So, even though the use of the word purchase doesn't make me very happy, it remains a fact that a lot of money has to be paid to adopt a kid. And without the money there will not be an adoption.
this is not a case of white 'buying' black - more a case of one white woman (and man) coming to the rescue of one black boy so tragically neglected by africa. There are millions of others black children who will not be saved - because there are sadly not millions of madonna's and other people who are willing to rescue them. BLACK AFRICA CANNOT LOOK AFTER ITSELF very well - this may sound racist but its a pathetic fact. If David was left in Malawi he may well be dead by now - like the countless nameless other black africans who will of died of neglect since I started writing this blog.

We've adopted internationally. The parents themselves will put the child up for adoption. Poverty is usually the cause. Our son's birth mother died in childbirth and the father was dying of AIDS. He willfully put his child up for adoption.

as an apdoptive mother (with no love for madonna) i find the use here of the word "purchase' VERY offensive. Buying babies is illegal…for big celebritites or anyone else.
