Skimpy prom dress lands teen in cuffs
HOUSTON — Marche Taylor’s prom night experience wasn’t what you would call the norm.
That’s because instead of a night of dancing and hanging out with friends, the Madison High School senior ended in a confrontation with school officials and her being escorted out in handcuffs. All because school officials said her dress was inappropriate for the school prom.
"I actually like the dress. Everybody else likes my dress,” Taylor said of her custom-made dress as she showed it off Friday afternoon.
Madison High's prom took place at the Sugar Land Marriot. But Taylor only got as far as the lobby because when she tried to enter the ballroom an official stopped her.

She was told her dress violated a school dress code.
"She shook her head, she was like you are not getting into this prom,” said Taylor. “We were arguing back and forth because I wanted to know why I can't get into my prom.”
Even after offering to provide more cover, Taylor was still denied access to the final soiree of the school year.
At that point, Taylor said she was furious. After all this was her senior prom. She argued if she couldn't get in, she wanted her money back.
Things got so bad, the next thing she knew, someone had called the police. Officers showed up, handcuffed her and escorted her out.

Madison High School Principal Aubrey Taylor said says the dress was inappropriate and violated the rules.
“It was revealing in such nature it was not appropriate for the prom,” said Taylor, who stood by the school official who denied Taylor access to the event.
And while she regrets how things turned out, Taylor thinks she had little choice.
"They didn't give me any options, but to go to jail or go home,” she said.
And she still loves her prom dress, even though in the end it will cost her dearly.

i happen to know her mother pesonally. First of all, Marche doesn't live at home anymore. Marche makes her own choices now. Her mother would have NEVER let her go out like this. Because of stupid stunts like this Marche doesn't live at home anymore. Her mother taught her right from wrong. It was Marche who chose not to listen.

Marche thinks she grown and want to make grown decisions. For this reason, she doesn't live with her mom. Her mom was not going to tolerate behavior like this or of any kind. Second, this is not the original dress this girl was going to wear. Somehow, somewhere she changed into this trashy dress.

While I admire your determination to be "unique, interesting and creative" women of the night have been wearing attire similar to your prom dress for years. Nothing new, if you dress like a hoochie mama chances are you are a hoochie mama. If you lived in Los Angeles however, you would be properly clothed for shopping on Robertson with Paris or Kim K. I am sure her wearing that skimpy ass dress was not the only reason she was handcuffed. She probably caused a loud confrontation and attitude which would elicit security or police to remove her. You can't tell me that she didnt know that the school dresscode applies to prom as well, she probably thought she was hot and thought she could get away with attitude because it was her last year. I am sure she will pull the race card or get cochran to represent her.

On her CNN interview she was talking all ghetto too. She was not remorseful at all for wearing it and paraded around in it for the cameras. Her principal is a black man and said outright that the dress was not appropriate. I don't care what color this girl would have been– the dress says SLUT all over it. It is NOT appropriate. That dress said SLUT….At least whores get paid for it. I feel sorry for her mother. I know what it is like.
Well I live in Houston, and her mom called in to a radio show this morning saying that she had given her daughter money to have a dress designed but the picture she showed her was of a totally different dress. On top of that she was sneaking around leaving from her grandmothers house, and not her mom's house so no one ever saw what she was wearing or checked it out before she left the house. I think she looks extremely trashy and I dunno what kind of idiots told her she looks great and wonderful in that dress. Seriously just sad.

1. Where was her mother and what was she thinking when she let her child out of the house wearing this?

5. Can you say Law Suit…..Her prom was runined for her (poor baby) and bitch will want to get paid….problem is that had she read the rules (and abided by them), this wouldn't have happened. Had she questioned what "inappropriate" was or showed a picture of that dress to a High school official, she would have been told in no uncertain terms….Wear that dress to Prom and you won't be given access.

She planned on causing a commotion and wanted all the attention on her as evidenced by her radio/news photos. The news reported that the altercation began when she was being sent out for not wearing any panties, which from the nipple shot, I would think would be obvious. The police were called in when she became so disorderly that it was creating a scene in an upscale hotel. Bottom line is she was dressed inappropriately to be in a public place such as the hotel, unless she was planning on ending the evening as a call girl. Race is irrelevant in this instance; any female dressed as she was should have been sent home, forget the refund, or use a refund to buy some class!

The dress was inappropriate for anyone to wear to a formal event where self respect is a given. There is a word that still exists in our language and it is "Class" which does not end when the school bell rings. If her parent/s were included in the fashion disaster, they too should have been placed in handcuffs. If the dress code was communicated to these kids prior to the event and she chose to violate it, then a refund is not warranted. However, she should have been given an opportunity to go home and change into something more appropriate and return to participate in the prom. The elephant in the room says — We all know prom night is the time underage kids are given a license to get high/drunk, ride around in a limo, and have sex until they puke. How many of you were born 9 months after prom???
