Has it ever occurred to some of you that some people like to look like themselves. I work in the Beauty industry, and confidence is what gives you the finishing touch….she has that! She has always had that.
She is a wonderful human being, with a family she loves, and a great career……more than probably most of the readers on here.

One thing I admire about SJP is that's she's not a cookie cutter beauty. She has a real face that hasn't been frozen or altered; she also has real talent. I think the picture looks terrific. This mean spirited vitriol is the thing that's really ugly.

As a broadcast post production producer and designer for FOX ABC and the CW, I can say with full confidence, the all celeb photos get retouched in one form or another. Sometimes it's using a light diffuser to softer imperfections during a shoot, or it's color enhanced/ touched up in Photoshop in post. All photos get touched up. It's require for two main reasons, one has to do with management (creative services directors and/or art directors) who decide how to make the photo feel like they are apart of their company's brand. Example: if your company shoots for a mens magazine, the photo art direction is higher contrast, and crushed black levels, so the photo must be modified to fit that magazine's normal feel…even if the original photo really didn't have anything wrong with it.
Second comes from the celebs themselves or their contacts. Most higher end celebs do sign off on the photos that will run or at least get feedback from them after the shoot on what they would like done to their pics. In other cases, a celeb will call up if a picture airs that they don't find beautiful enough and the first thing they will ask is, "Did you touch up the photo?" If you say "no" they will ream you out (and to your boss) if you are lucky, and in worse case situations, lose their job because of it. Most often you just lose out on working on higher end clients till you "earn the right" to touch up higher end celebs again.
That's kind of my perspective on photo retouching as a person who works in that field. I hope this help give insight to Perez fans.

Maybe it was the purpose of the photographer to make her look REAL, not like a plastic doll. I respect her for being herself and embracing her looks: Sarah has never been a classic beauty, but she is a sucessful actress, a mother and a role-model to millions of women around the world.
