… Thanks for the offer. I actually DO have ALL of Kurt Nilsen's recordings including the ones with his rock band ( Fenrik Lane)before he was on Idol. His newest Cd " Rise To The Occasion" which is his country album is currently #1 on the VGTOPP 40. ( which is like our Billboard top 40.) I had to order it from a company in Norway…. but it was Totally worth the wait!!
Kurt did a LIVE concert on the internet just this evening in Norway. I'll give you'all the link to go see how great he is LIVE.
…. just know there is about a 15 minute delay from when the internet feed started to record…and when Kurt came out to perform. He performs his hits plus the new songs from the Cd including " Lost Highway" recorded with Willey Nelson. This song was originally written and performed by the great Leon Payne.
Kurt is a ROCK STAR.

I strongly disagree that Kurt Nilsen is the most talented singer/songwriter in Norway. Indeed he's got lots of talent and an amazing voice, but sadly I find that he's copying himself a lot which makes his music a bit tidious (At least that goes for his "radiohits").
If I was to suggest Norwegian artist worth listening to I'd rather recommend Ane Bruun, Madrugada, Sivert Høyem and Kari Rueslåtten than Kurt Nilsen (You can find songs from all the above on YouTube)
Hey Perez! Linda from Norway her. Read your site every day. Just wanted to inform you that Kurt Nilsen is the first winner of Norwegian Idol, and also won World Idol over your Kelly Clarkson. Simon Cowell said to Kurt during the finals that he looked like a hobbit, but his voice was like an angels. Love that you keep up with us in Norway!

I'm an American who likes Kurt Nilsen. Have been listening to him for a while now. I think he's great and I think Perez's coverage of his work with Willie Nelson is great. I hope the day comes when I can listen to him on the radio here in the USA and be able to buy his music at a local store instead of having to order it online. America would be proud to have him.

I've tried hard to find the Before You Leave cd but am not willing to pay the $100 plus shipping for the only one I could find online. Just let me know. I've loved Kurt's voice since I heard him on World Idol and have bought every cd I can get ahold of. I don't recall who posted it now but the others who sing on the song Hallelujah are: Espen Lind, Askil Holm and Alejandro Fuentes and they are also all Norwegian. I have Espen's cd Red and really like it but so far haven't bought anything by the other two though I'd like to one day. Being a country fan I of course love Kurt's newest cd and listen to it often.

I'm from the US and have loved Kurt Nilsen since he won World Idol. I'm glad to see that his music is finally being heard by a wider audience. His voice is beautiful and he sings so effortlessly. Go listen to "Never Easy" and "Last Storm" on youtube. You'll be glad you did…
