Adult entertainment insiders report that Playboy is planning a move into the gay market with softcore cable video-on-demand.
It's about time!
Playboy plans to first offer Time Warner Cable subscribers 20 hours of gay male programming.
A start date was not revealed, though it's expect to launch within the next few months.
Looks like Playboy is trying to diversify, and it needs to!
Last week the company announced that its revenue dropped 8 percent and their domestic TV revenue was down by $2.6 million in the first three months of the year.
The Playboy gay programming will "depict erect genitalia, male-on-male fellatio and simulated or implied sexual intercourse" but, “shall not depict actual anal penetration, licking or anal sexual play of any kind.”
Male ejaculation and forced bondage are also no-no's.

The restrictions aren't necessarily playboy's idea. A lot of those "no-no's" are standard cable video fare. Playgirl TV is pretty much straight porn as well as solo male stuff, but ejaculation and anal play is taboo. They could probably pretend to kill each other and that would be okay but the butt is still off-limits. I used to do the "story" voiceover for Playgirl TV and sometimes I'd mention anal stuff when you couldn't see a hand. Nobody stopped it, but the editors always giggled.

this is stupid. it belongs in playgirl, not playboy. i've never seen either magazine, but from what i understand, playgirl is all male models, made for women, and playboy is all female models, made for men. so why do they need/want to add men, especially gay men, to a porn mag targeted at straight males? won't that hurt their sales/etc? why can't gay men just buy a playgirl and look at the guys in there? if playgirl doesn't already have guy-on-guy stuff, why don't they add it to that mag instead of the other? that idea makes a ton more sense.
