10 Years Too Late?

MTV's animated 90's show Beavis and Butthead could be making its way to the big screen as a live-action feature, according to creator Mike Judge.
Judge recalls that at one point Johnny Depp wanted to play Beavis – with Marlon Brando as Butthead.
How insanely brilliant would that have been????
“For some reason, I used to hate the idea for years,” says Judge of a live-action Beavis & Butthead. "Now, I think maybe there’s something there.”
Two names being bandied about are Sean William Scott and Napoleon Dynamite star Jon Heder.
We're not sure about this idea. Sounds like it could be really bad…and dated.

If John Heder and Sean William Scott are the lead roles, I would so go watch it. I would love a live action version of one of my fave shows.
I probably wouldn't go to the theater to watch it. I think it should go straight to DVD. Then I might rent it.

I remember the show back when I was very young. My brother even had the Super Nintendo game too. I say, it won't be as good as "Do America" but it will be interesting to see who they get.

Go with unknown actors for the whole cast, keep it small, and don't try to get too much of a story going on and it could be good.

Sean Penn as Beavis, Robert Downey Jr. as Butthead (bleach his hair). Perfect. Opening scene with the boys staring at Madonna gyrating her hips. Sean says. "I bet I could tap that."
It could be good if it were FUNNIER than the show was. the show was effing POINTLESS there was hardly anything funny about it

eh… i dont like the idea. i just want the show to be back on tv, 24/7. we need a beavis and butthead channel. also we need mtv to stop sucking and be cool like it was when beavis and butthead used to be on tv, when i was like 8 and not allowed to watch it but would go to my friends house and watch it anyway. new episodes would be cool too. and another ANIMATED movie. Beavis and Butthead aren't live characters, they are ANIMATED. to bring them to life is stupid. I dont like the idea.

I think it would be great and how would it be different than what Hollywood is doing already. Afraid to take risks so all they are doing is sequals, updates / remakes, and movies out of old tv shows.

YES!!! There is a GOD!! I watched this show every day! Ive seen EVERY espisode and i have at least one of the volumes on dvd. I friggin LOVE Beavis and Butthead! Jon Heder and Sean William Scott would be PERFECT!! This movie is going to be the shit! Its about fucking time to! I HATE King of The Hill! Beavis and Butthead is something Mike Judge NEVER should have stopped.
Live action would be horrible. Isn't Stiffler like 30 now? And he is supposed to be a 15 y/o? If MTV hadn't fucked Judge so bad, there would have been a few animated movies, and they would have been great. A live action might as well go straight to the $9.99 dvd bin and not waste $ on putting it in theaters.

the casting choices would make the movie
if they can do similar sounding voices and keep it as close to what the cartoon represented, it could work…..I mean it would be STUPID, BUT THAT'S THE POINT PEOPLE! Keep it 80'sish or keep Beavis and Butthead still like stuck in the 80's trying to figure out all the current stuff…like reality shows, American Idol, ect…..I'd check it out if it happens….

It would be AWESOME!! DVD sales for Beavis and Butthead are still strong, 10 years after the fact. With the proper casting a live action movie would do very well.
Jon Heder would make good butthead. I always thought Napolean sounded like Butthead! Sean William Scott is too much of a beef stick to play Beavis though. They need someone a bit more frail and crazy especially for the Cornholio complex.

Dudes I have very episode and specials of this show on DVD with the videos!
Ditto on cartoons being made into live action movies sucking hairy donkey balls. The only way I would watch any part of this movie would be if they actually did make whatever pretentious pretty boy with no acting skills cast as Beavis ride the dryer until he puked on himself…on the other hand, I'm not sure I can smoke enough pot for even that to be funny.

"Come out with your pants down!" This movie *has* to be made. B & B are awesome, Mike Judge is a genius (Idiocracy is coming true, people! Let's get smarter!) and Beavis' one liners are still funny and relevant today. Love it love it. B & B Do America was an instant classic.
