I was there recently when Raul took over for Fidel and there was a lot of hope that maybe the embargo would end… but if it were up to Cuban-Americans, their Cuban families would always be embargoed. The only Cubans who hate Castro are the older rich generation. Castro took all the property of the rich Cubans and used it for the gonvernment. The poor Cubans love Castro because he made sure they had a roof over there head, food, and a job. So all the Cuban Americans that denounce Castro were the wealthy ones. Perez, don't fall for your family propoganda about Castro. Before Castro was in power, it was just another dictator who allowed his people to starve due to his corupt financial sellout to the US and powerful corporations. At least Castro took care of the poor. I mean the US does billions of dollars of business with China, but will not allow any trade with Cuba? Whats the difference? China will let us exploite its people for slave wages and Castro wont. They are both Communists, no free press, human rights violations. The difference? China helps our corporations get rich. So I love you Perez and I've never been a Michael Moore fan, however, you're wrong here… The republican cubans in south Florida have always had huge and often detrimental effects on U.S. policy towards Cuba and various elections.
