This is overwhelming!
So many positive changes have been happening in Cuba lately, under the new leadership of Raul Castro.
It's pretty unbelievable!
The latest is that…
The Cuban government is taking steps to combat homophobia and is even contemplating legalizing gay marriage.
Amazing!
It seems like just the other day that gays and lesbians in Cuba were being jailed and persecuted for their sexual orientation.
We knew our "sister" Raul would pull through for us!

okay, seriously there is no progress happening in cuba. cell phones, computers, the gays (i'm gay) now have rights and we are thanking and praising raul castro. come on. praise and thank raul castro had he not stood by is crazy ass brother and watch the distruction of a country happen before his eyes. there is NO progress in cuba. its all the same. these things are said so that we, especially us cuban american can think "it's not so bad over there" and dump our american dollars into a country that believes in injustice and does not allow for human beings to have their basic right to progress as indviduals.
Fidel kept Cuba from being whored to the states. The Miami Cubans who have never even set foot on Cuban soil think that they are all starving over there. Its not true. I have friends that have only been here a few years from Cuba who didn't agree with the extreme political issues (we have our own as well) But they are educated and were not starving and are pretty poor. (if not poorer now in the states)
The Miami Cubans with they're cushioned republican asses, just want to make a buck off of Cuba's impending freedom.

I beg to differ…. They ration eggs per household and you aren't allowed to drink milk past age 6. My boyfriend's family are refugees from there and they still have family living there. They are constantly sending money.

As someone living in Miami -which is filled to the brim with cubans- I am apathethic as most here. Raul is RELATED to the devil that is FIDEL. Even if changes seem to be coming (cellphones are permited! microwaves are being sold!) the average Cuban citizen does not have the money to afford this "luxuries". Raul is just using propaganda. But the thing with gay marriage well( if it happens) …. I think that is awesome!!
