Maybe it's that i'm english but that was TERRIBLE. Really pitchy and she looked like really thin. What do you all see in her? At least Miley Cyrus can sing!

all the silly theatrics do not hide the fact that she's tone deaf. that was embarrassing to watch. a waste of 3 min 51 sec. i was waiting for her to slip and fall or let out a giant queef or something. why did you make us watch that all the way through?

it wasn't that good. she sounded flat kind of and the tone quality was bad most of the time. egh.
a) The hoodie made no sense, other than the creepy effect of the guys tearing off her "clothes".
b) The rain had nothing to do with the song. But what a shock that producers wanted a soaking-wet, pretty (not beautiful) blonde.
c) She can not sing. I have been a singer for years, and she might be cute, but she needed to choose a key and sing in it.

Taylor Swift is the most humble,intelligent, & talented country artist. I've known her since I was little & she has been playing the guitar & writing songs since she learned to talk. She works extremely hard & doesn't deserve to be shit on. She has accomplished so much & she is only 18. Her performance was breath taking. The world will definitely be seeing more of her.. she's been working so hard on her new album which will be even more amazing!

I feel bad for the girl but that was horrible, it remind me of Avril Lavigne at the beginning of the song, and then when she was in the rain it reminded me of Kelly Clarkson, at some award show too. It seem to she was trying to rock out, but was really bad at it.

That is my favorite song by Taylor. To be honest, Taylor does have some vocal issues that she needs to work out. Taylor is promising as an artist though. Her songs have a certain amount of purity and sincerity that is noticable compared to most.
I think once she's around 23-26, she's going to fill out with curves nicely. She is going to be two handfuls in terms of keeping the guys from not hitting on her! The waterfall was very "Britney: Vegas" as well.

The vocal performance has room for improvement. I give her credit for trying. Anyone who can go in front of thousands of people, and millions more on tv, and sing their hearts out with the confidence found while in the shower can stand up and get the trophy. I can guarantee the majority of you will fall miserably at it. Having said that, it's clearly that at the end she was lip synching. So, they wasted a $600 microphone. My only objection to it is that they were too many changes. First it seemed like an acoustic set. Then, she throws the acoustic and she gets into the Lavigne mode. Her clothes are ripped and she has a dress underneath. Then she stumps around. Not the best choice while wearing a dress. Finally, she goes under the water. There was too much going on.

I love Taylor Swift! I met her after one of her concerts. I think she is a talented singer/songwriter, and was so thankful and kind when I met her. She deserves all of her accolades, and thanks Perez for giving her some credit she deserves! She is a great live performer, especially for a girl of such a young age.
wow you guys need to get a life, shes awesome. She might not have the strongest voice when she sings live but she can write some amazing songs and shes gorgeous. I saw her live when she came to my state and she actually did pretty good. shes young and her vocals chords are still probably growing, shes the next big thing and shes not going anywhere so get over it

Clearly the people who are talking crap about the performance are not big country fans. Yes Taylor Swift is young, and I believe she will have a great career ahead, but she's not as horrible as many are making it out to be. If anyone knew anything about her, they would know that she had been wanting to do a performance like this for some time. It was a dream for her to do this performance. I don't believe she wanted to copy anyone, at least she can write her own music, unlike most artists. This song was meant to be sung with emotion, anger, her boyfriend cheated on her, so what if it wasn't exactly like the album version? Everyone sounds different when they sing live.
I personally thought it sucked.
I saw her live and wasn't impressed, but I was overjoyed to see her perform this song live and do a good job. She is very humble, and she should be. No one is perfect 100% of the time, but for Taylor this was pretty damn close. Her look at the end wasn't stuck up, I think it was more of shock because this is branching her out from what she usually does on stage

Yes, this was clever on her part. Also clever were her "backups" who switched out her mic for the water part…at 2:35…and how wonderfully on-pitch and beautifully singing she sang because she was in the rain. HACK. lipsynch…if you are going to have the balls to get soaking wet during an AWARDS show, then you better take the consequences of getting shocked.

She sounds like an 8th grader at a Jr. High talent show. And that weird stomping things she does with her legs(is it supposed to be dancing?) was a bit much. She doesn't enunciate and always seems out of breathe when she sings live. Way to much make-up with the "I Dream of Genie" eyes. My 7th grader loves her though and has her CD. But then again she also listens to Miley Cyrus. Marketing young teen girls is a cash cow right now. I will say that if she really does write her songs she does a good job with that.
