Ted Kennedy has been diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor.
The 76-year-old was rushed to the hospital this past weekend with what family members thought was a stroke but ended up being a seizure caused by the malignant growth in his brain.
Malignant gliomas are a type of brain cancer diagnosed in about 9,000 Americans a year — and the most common type among adults. It's a starting diagnosis: How well patients fare depends on what specific tumor type is determined by further testing.
Average survival can range from less than a year for very advanced and aggressive types — such as glioblastomas — or to about five years for different types that are slower growing.
So sad.
Our thoughts and positive energy go out to the Senator and his family.

For those of you bringing up Laura Bush, I'll explain the difference. First, Laura Bush was not drunk. Kennedy was driving under th influence. Laura was a young, unmarried woman. Kennedy was an established politician carrying on an affair. Lastly, Laura Bush didn't try to cover it up like Ted did. Ted left her to die a slow death, drowning in his car in the river. He left the scene and went to sleep without telling a soul what happened. Does that clear it up for you?
Mary Jo would be alive today had he reported the accident to the authorities immediately. He had the ability to save her and he CHOOSE NOT TO. He chose to do nothing. Had this happened to anyone without money or family connections, they would have been rotting in jail. He is a murderer. Having an accident after driving drunk is a horrible, horrible mistake. Leaving the scene without calling the cops while your mistress drowns to death in the front seat is something a little worse than a "horrible mistake". It's murder. Look up manslaughter if you don't believe me.
I agree it's wrong to wish cancer on him and I'm not reveling in his tragedy. But I think I'll save my prayers for someone a little more deserving, Mary Jo and her family. May she rest in peace.

At 8:00 a.m. the following morning, some fisherman found the submerged car. Ted Kennedy nor anyone else had called the accident in yet. So, for at least nine hours, Ted Kennedy did nothing to help Mary Jo Kopechne. He didn’t call the accident in until after one of his friends saw tow trucks with flashing lights headed in the direction of the accident. He survived his seizure because someone helped him immediately. Too bad he wasn’t as considerate of Mary Jo Kopechne.
I have NO sympathy for him.
