On May 31st, fans of super Emo group My Chemical Romance are planning to march across London to protest what they consider to be the unfair depiction of the band in the British media.
The march will start at Hyde Park's West Pond and end outside the offices of The Daily Mail, who organizers call the 'worst' offender in the media.
The newspaper recently anointed My Chemical Romance a 'suicide cult' band in its reports covering the suicide of a 13-year old British girl named Hannah Bond.
Three hundred fans are reportedly confirmed to march.

this is utterly ridiculous. The Daily Mail's writers ought to be burned in effigy! We're MCR fans, proud of it, and we live in the States, but we'll be there in spirit! Dude, seriously, we're not emo. And there's nothing wrong with emos–you shouldnt hate them. It's stupid. Judge yourself before you judge others.

I listen to My Chemical Romance. Religiously. But I'm not gonna go out and kill myself. People need to understand that it's not the bands fault. obviously this girl was going through something that she felt was the end of the world, but to put the blame on the band is stupid. Sometimes all kids have is the music they listen to so parents need to stop pointing fingers at the bads, and start pointing fingers at themselves.
I thought that self-mutilation often/sometimes/usually is a cry for help. And here in the states, if my child was cutting he/she would be going to striaght to therapy. Parents are so blind. "it is part of an initiation to emo" when did there become a leader you had to be initiated by? The death is truely sad, but why is it being portrayed this way? Blame…sure. But sounds like the girl needed help.

This is just something that the parents want to place the blame onto. Instead they need to think about what they could have done differently in RAISING Hannah. If your parenting skills suck so bad that your child can`t speak to you about what they are feeling……………. Shame on you,….. shame on YOU
The bands who make music for pure entertainment should not be blamed. It's the cult's (or whatever it is) fault and to a certain extent, the parent's fault. Why didn't they stop her from joining the cult when they discovered the slash marks on her wrists? The words "part of an initiation ceremony" should've been enough to stop her. The black parade was a concept for an album that was made for pure fun, and shouldn't be taken seriously by anyone at all. Blaming MCR for this won't bring her back from the dead, so stop pointing fingers and start looking into the problem of why she really took her own life.

I`m also a mom. But my children aren`t old enough to go to rock concerts yet. But I love MCR and I`ve been to 3 shows in a year.
Your right about Gerard… He is so against violence and self harm.
He makes several comments during his shows about reaching out when your feeling down. And he even gave out a hotline to call.
And if someone falls down or is knocked down during the show, ….
He`s says "pick them the fuck up"! He doesn`t want anyone to get hurt!
It terrible that people are still judging people by what they hear others bashing about.

The Daily Mail is desparate for ATTENTION!
No matter what, someone is always going to be placing the blame on something. The "N" word was banned, they should have banned the word "emo". I hate the word, and what you think of when you hear that word. Everyone has the wrong idea. Black eyeliner? Black hair? Self-expression. I have had my hair every single color, dozens of piercings and multiple tattoo's. I have seen MCR live, along with tons of other bands…like HANSON. So stop generalizing, and stop using that stupid word. Suicide is real, and it has nothing to do with music. It's something that is wrong with the person themselves, and it needs to be dealt with-not have the blame be placed on something else because we as people feel like we have failed by not saving her?

I've read some of the stupidest comments ever on here today about My Chemical Romance.. If a child or anyone for that matter decides to kill themself than maybe the child is unstable and needs professional help.. Blaming the group MCR for a suicide is the most ridiculous thing that I've ever read. I was at their concert last wk here in NY and they are a very caring group. They brought a little boy named Mikah up on stage who was suffering from Cancer and dedicated the song to the child.. People should get their facts straight before writing stupid and uneducated comments..
for the people saying "stupid" thirteen year old and all this, bear in mind you've read what has been published about her and this idiotic plight of saying it was the music. but people who come on this site, as i do, actually knew the girl. so have some respect, even if it kills you to try it. it's not a joke.

The parents are just looking for someone else to blame instead of them selves for not looking into thier daughters irrational behaviour. They knew that she was troubled and knew that she was hurting herself. Even if she had promised her dad that she was going to stop that, it doesnt matter because she needed real help. Not just her parents. And Blaming it on what she was listening to isnt going to help. Just because it was "emo" music doesnt mean anything. Anyone who really has listened to the music and lyrics and the way the band talks about themselve and their position on suicide you would know that it was not thier music that pushed her over. I'll be the first person to step up and say my chemical romance is my favorite band. I'm proud of that. but I hate the emo stereotype. sorry to say this, but I honestly can't see this march going well. it's just going to give the media another reason to trash the band and the fans. I hope that people who are going to the march have common sense to make this be about something BESIDES defending the band. the issue is not the music, the issue is that teenage depression is thought of as a joke! this has happened many times. like the columbine shootings were blamed on marilyn manson. that was stupid too.
my greatest hope would be that the fans at the march would be mature enough to take the focus off the band. scenario one: the fans don't handle this properly, the “suicide cult” accusations continue, and we'll all get laughed at for crying over our favorite band being called names. scenario two: people handle this well, we raise awareness for REAL problems, and it'll be known that the march was organized by my chem fans. it's obvious which would be better.

We have recently learned of the suicide and tragic loss of Hannah Bond. We'd like to send our condolences to her family during this time of mourning. Our hearts and thoughts are with them.
My Chemical Romance are and always have been vocally anti-violence and anti-suicide. As a band, we have always made it one of our missions through our actions to provide comfort, support, and solace to our fans. The message and theme of our album "The Black Parade" is hope and courage. Our lyrics are about finding the strength to keep living through pain and hard times. The last song on our album states: "I am not afraid to keep on living" - a sentiment that embodies the band's position on hardships we all face as human beings. If you or anyone that you know have feelings of depression or suicide, we urge you to find your way and your voice to deal with these feelings positively.

My Chemical Romance is 1 NOT Emo 2 not a suicide cult band either. If You have Ever Seen their DVD diary thingy "Life On The Murder Scene" Then you will know that in the first few minutes of it Gerard Clearly says that this is a band that WANTS TO SAVE YOUR LIFE!
