We had a "Fantasy Idol" pool at work so we watched the entire season. It has really been a boring year as far as idol goes. I really like David Cook but I am sure David A. will win. Don't get me wrong - he is good but I think David Cook is going to make an awesome rock star! I would buy his album today!

I honestly cannot understand why people are so in love with freakin "Archie" . I find him so boring, with not a single bone of creativity in his body. For a 17 year old boy, he is really really old. Don't get me wrong, he has a great voice, but for the whole season, he didnt show any other side of him, except for that Chris Brown song, which was a disaster. David Cook deserves to win. He has material, he has charisma. The most talented idol contestant to this day.

I'm voting for David Cook. David A is good, but I don't think he's ready for fame (he already gets so nervous and flustered just on AI. Think of all the media crap he'll have to do if he wins!)
I think both will have successful careers, but David Cook is ready NOW and David A. could benefit from just growing up a bit more first.

David Cook…he can sing different styles which means he can carry on a show. David Archuletta is really good but he has only one style, people will probably fall asleep after a few songs. He is kinda commercial too me, nothing is orriginal. Hope Cook will win.

I vote for David Cook but I think David A will win. Although it may be better for David Cook's career if he loses. Then he can get a record deal and won't have the Idol restrictions which could really put a damper on his career.

I almost hope that David Cook doesn't win, just because I would hate for that much talent to be bound by the "idol" title…I feel like if he had his own deal after this show that was separate from the franchise, he might be able to make a more creative/independent/edgy first album, as opposed to the generic, cookie-cutter fare the american idol winners usually put out
(With that said, I still think he deserves the title more than the other David. Archuleta just needs a little more time to grow up and figure out his original voice and inspiration.)

I enjoyed tonight's show. I think both David C & Lil David are awesome! Lil David has such a powerful voice filled with compassion. Cook, I'd pay to see him in concert, he's the better performer/entertainer, Archuleta has the better vocals. I'm still wide awake voting for Archuleta as we speak. I love them both but would like to see Archuleta win. Cook will do just fine. He doesn't need to be stuck in the Idol contract. He needs to fly like a bird like Chris Daughtery. Who cares anymore? This show stopped being relevant after Season 2. After that, it only matters when it's on the air; the winner fails immediately after the season ends. The winners are irrelevant puppets that get the most votes because they're non-threatening and fit the mold, only to later fail for the exact same reason. Except Fantasia, who is awesome, but because she's black, she is only marketed as a ghetto sex-object, which insults her, her talent and black women in general.
I have to say Archuleta was great tonight but I still want COOK to WIN!!!!

what the bloody fuck was simon on tonight. he seemed to hate david cook. Cook by far outperformed Archuleta overall. Archie will put us all to sleep with his soft ballad album whereas Cook actually sings upbeat and the slower songs well.

First of All…. It doesn't matter!!!!! David Cook will sell more records that David A. I don't care if David A wins. I know that I won't be listening to his boring music on my ipod. I rather work out and be inspired by Cook. Why do I have this thought stuck in my head of David A singing and dancing to "My Boo!" That was horrible.
I almost hope David Cook doesn't win, so that he isn't hindered by the Idol title. There is no doubt he will be hugely successful, and will definitely get a record deal after the show, winner or not. I think he'd be more likely to put out a creative, original record with a label separate from the Idol franchise, which is highly preferable to a cheesy, predictible, safe, and cookie-cutter type album that is characteristic of almost all the previous Idol winners' first albums.
That said, David Cook is stilll the better David, and ultimately deserves the title more.
Cook is a wonderful performer. But Cook lacks humbleness. He is too cocky and seems to think he's already a platinum selling Grammy artist already. I caught the dig he threw out about why he didn't sing a song he's done before. You guys say Archuleta got too much credit tonight, well Cook has already been "crowned" the AI according to tons of online polls. But I wouldn't sit back and think he has it in the bag. Remember how people just knew Clay Aiken would beat out Ruben and he didn't. I agree with Cook's statement at the beginning saying they both are winners and tonight, they'd enjoy themselves. I think his tears at the end were forced and fake. As awesome as he is as a performer, he could use a slice of humble pie. ARCHULETA is the 2008 American Idol!!!

this has been the best season, hands down. i wanted these two in the finale from the beginning. i really love both, but i sway a little more towards david cook. he's way more versatile. he can sing ANYTHING and sound amazing. archuleta's voice is amazing though. especially for a 17 (!!) year old. it's a toss up. for the record, though, i voted for cook.
