Plus the unfortunate exploitation of his brother really ruined him for me. Elliott Yamin's mom was (at the time of Idol) terminally ill with breast cancer. That she lived two years passed was a MIRACLE. Im glad Eliott didn't exploit her conditions!

I will be happy with whoever wins because they're both amazing.

Personally, I think David Cook should have gotten more recognition than Simon gave him. He definately has major talent and singing with that much power in your voice isn't easy.

i think david archuleta has brain washed the young girls of america with his sickeningly cheesy sweet look and he will win…based purely on the fact that he makes them moist in their pre-teen panties. but in my own personal opinion, david cook is far more talented and will have a much better and longer career without winning this show. i predict he will release an album first and it will top the charts and be up there with the success of daughtry or carrie underwood. archuleta will put out an album and do well with it for awhile and then he'll kinda get forgotten about…like fantasia and jordan sparks…taylor hicks anyone? he's got a good voice but it's nothing special. enough with the fucking ballads already, take some damn risks and do something exciting. ahhhh. fucktard, i cant stand archuleta.

The last 17-year-old winner (Jordin Sparks, who isn't exactly burning up the charts…or doing anything but singing at like state fairs and malls at this point) didn't do shit once she won…and won't amount to anything…and neither will David Archuleta if he wins (much to the chagrin of his fking famewhore father, I'm sure).

David Cook is the real talent here, and if he doesn't win, it's a travesty along the lines of Ruben Studdard over Clay Aiken and that gray-haired freak, Taylor Hicks (also currently on the rodeo/ Wal-Mart grand opening tour circuit along with Sparks, Studdard and other never-were-and-never-will-be's) over the clearly more talented Chris Daughtry. David A. did better tonight, though I strongly disagree with the 'knockout' comment from Simon. However, Cook will and more importantly, SHOULD win.

Not only is he more charismatic, he's much more versatile–PLUS he's not saddled with the stage-dad beast from hell. The key to Cook's success is he is more MARKETABLE–which Idol sorely needs its winner to be at this point after the long string of sub-par winners listed above.

Anyone who votes for Archuleta is either 13 or a tone-deaf pedophile.

I can truly see David Cook becoming popular overnight, and making it big. David Archuleta is still young and has a ways to go before I think he'd even think about touring, etc., which would be like the past few winners that didn't do much with winning the title. David Cook's voice and music is what is HOT right now! I don't really think David Archuleta has a "genre" he likes to sing. And well, him solo in concert? It would be a bit boring and stiff. He needs to let loss a little!

So with that being said, David Cook better win and prove to the judges that there comments were way wrong tonight! DAVID was a knockout!

Well, they tried to throw David Cook under the bus on this one, but secretly I think Simon knew what he was doing all along. All this week, he's been on talk shows saying he favors David Cook, and by saying Archuleta won the night tonight, he just inspired viewers to call in vigorously all night. David A is one bizarre 17 year old. Who really listens to the music he has been singing at his age anyway? And the way he talks and acts, he's just weird and seems very awkward. Not sure who would buy his music other than some old granny types. David Cook at least chooses better songs and has a good voice. I think David Cook showed America the kind of album he is going to make and
did the best he could with the Idol selections that were forced upon
him. However, he strayed away from the "Idol winning formula" that the
lip licking leprechan followed to a T. Thus DC probably will lose the
competition. But win or lose, my BF DC will be a bigger success. He'll
sell more albums and be a staple on VH1 in a few months, and the lip

I think archuleta will though. I don't get him, I really don't. He's so boring, and weird… when Ryan interviews him, it makes me uncomfortable, his public speaking skills are so poor. But what really makes me angry is that fact that despite knowing how good he is (as he does hear it all the time) everytime they tell him hes safe, he gets all teary eyed like a little babe. ugh, gag me.

I think the judges definitely made it so that people would vote for David A. I am so sick of his cookie cutter performances. It's sad that they tell every one to step out of their element yet he has sang the same dreary, weepy songs over and over again and nothing has been said. He is uninteresting while David C. is nothing but original. I actually think David C. will be better off not winning because he can go off and get his own contract without Idol.
