David Cook could have done more. I want him to win. But sadly, Archuletta will win. He was better on the night.
If David Cook doesn't win I think it will send a terrible message to future contestants….don't try anything original. David Cook could have come out and performed some lame ass pop tune with a big glory note but instead he stayed true to his artistic integrity and chose to do something he hadn't done before. He performed a song with a truly meaningful message and did it with REAL emotion. David Archuleta is light years away from possessing this kind of artisty. Artistry, integrity and sincerity is what should be rewarded in a talent competition, not simply "hitting notes". If this competition were just a "singing" competition then Syesha would have won because she could belt out better than either or them but alas, she had ZERO originality. Cook has consistently showed artistry and originality throughtout the competetion and IMO he should win based on his entire catalog. Dial Idol says he won so if he doesn't that just proves the voting is rigged.
My thoughts are the judges thoughts,
David Archuleta was a million times better, deserves it a whole lot more, wants it a whole lot more. He's beautiful inside and out and doesn't want to sing just to be famous, he wants to make a difference. He already has and will continue to. he's perfect.
I voted my heart out for him, but sadly I think Cook will win simply because it's what Idol wants. And people voted for Cook not because they like him and want him to win, but because they just don't want Archie to.
based on song choices…Archie clearly wins the nite but Cook did show his versality and his star quality. But I hope Cook will win.
no, COOK sucked. he does not have a strong voice what so ever. it was my first time watching it, and i thought he'd sound like chris daughtry, but it wasa huge dissappointment. archuleta does need a personality, but its a singing contest, and archuleta definitly has a strong voice. even simon said acrhuleta won the three rounds, and he said on jay leno that he likes cook more. now that shouls say something

Archuleta–no question about it. He's the better voice. Cook sounds like a worn out Eddie Vetter every time. Tired and boring.
DAVID ARCHUELETA ALL THE WAY. David Cook I was for prior to last night. But Simon had it right when he said "it was a knock out".
It was a competition. Like the boxing match spoof emphasized that they started the show with. David Archeleta won the match. David Archeleta won the battle. David Cook will have a musical career. After all he was the finalist in Idol. But it is David Archeleta. You would have to be deaf and blind last night not to see that or incredibly biased.
david a is too boring. he only sings ballads! change it up a little for pete's sake. he did have a better voice last night though. however, i think david cook would sell more records for sure……more diverse. i see david a singing christian music after this is all over.

I can't believe all of the David Cook fans on here. I think he dropped the ball last night. Archuletta gave me goose bumps, he is the winner hands down.
Based on last nights performances David A blew David C away. David C should not get the title because he was talked into entering the competition by the AI crew at the tryout where his brother went to try out. David A should win because his voice is still being developed at such a young age and has more talent the David Cook in his left pinkie. Just wish my AI favorite was still it the race
DC. he mixed up the songs and didnt sing any repeats, Archuletta sang a repeat song and just sang the other two the way they were written. Not to mention, we have heard DC sing all types of music. DA always sings ballads with the exception of teh one Chris Brown song that was a trainwreck.. If an all around American Idol is wanted. .. DC is the way to go!
Also, Cook looked defeated before he even sang his first song. He knows Archuletta is going to win.

I really hope that David Cook wins, the other David already won on Star search or something like that and he is only 17 he has his whole life ahead of him.
I did see it, and while David A. finally showed some backbone and competed completely I just dont think his dad is ready to be a star yet LOL, but I would hate for him to lose because dad might go postal, he is too demanding. I think DA looked so calm since his dad was banned from practice and back stage. David C. took risks by singing other songs and I think that was good, but it might back fire. DC is the one that was 'consistently' good through out the whole process, and to think he did it on a fluke!
I guess Simon wants to sign Arch…? He sure tried to sway our votes…I thought that was bullshit
david archuletta completely RUINED "imagine"…and then, shockingly, Simon praised him for his murder of the timeless song. I was expecting his brutal disapproval, but was greatly dissapointed– Cook was better, but not wonderful.

David C = Hot, Sexy, great technique, great voice, stage presence, all around a better singer.
America will vote, and David A will probably win due to Simon's comments.

The little weezy kid will win. My fav. David Cook just didn't bring it last night. Maybe he didn't want to win though and get sucked into a contract that's not his choosing. So second place just might be better in that regard.

I think David Cook is great, don't kow why, but he didn't try very hard last night. I wated him to win, but unfortunetly I think LITTLE DAVE will win. The fan base for Idol is 12 to 13 year old girls–whatcha gonna do. David Cook rocks and will have a career no matter.

I think it is DC best interest to place 2nd. you know he will get the record deal but not be under the AI restriants.
Throughout the season, they have gone back and forth as to which David should be the next AI. As we neared the end, they were SURE and absolutly LOVED DC. Even Simon had said yesterday that DC would be the winner, and what happened last night? They TOTALLY pimped out DA!!! Boy, if THATS not saying this thing is a big 'ol fix, i dont know what is! To be honest with you, i absolutly LOVE DC and think he deserves to be the winner, but I really think he would be better off coming in second. Then he doesnt have the "idol" ruling his album and we'll get to hear what he should sound like, not what AI wants him to do.

It's so obvious that the show is bias towards creep show David Archuleta. David Cook had a great night and he didn't get the props he deserved. David A. could sing the phone book….and put half of America to sleep in the process! Why do the lame judges not see that David Cook is the one who took risks and progressed through the show? I hope America saw through David A's crap last night and voted for Cook. I sure did. Also, I'm sick of watching Archuleta's douche bag dad too. Get a new hat and go back to work…that is if he has a job!

I LOVE DAVID COOK! He kicks ass & when I listen to his music I feel like jamming along with him unlike Archie who makes me feel depressed & sleepy. I do see why grammas & little girls like Archie & I will admint he does have a lovely voice & tone. It comes down to a choice - pick the best singer or pick the best artist, the one who will actually sell albums. The only thing Archie has ever sung on Idol are sleepy ballods, things I wouldnt personally ever want to jam to riding in my car, Cook on the other hand could release at least 3 of the songs he covered on Idol as albums & theyd be smash hits!! I'm pissed that everyone loved that David A sang "Imagine" again. That means he pussed out and only learned 2 new songs, when David Cook learned 3. He worked harder and no one acknowledged it!!! The judges said he should have sang "Billie Jean" again?!?!? WHY??? He already sang it. UGH.

Pure talent and originality
For a little while this season, I was sure that David Cook had stolen the crown from much-adored little David Archuleta. Cook came on with powerhouse and unique performances. He was unafraid to shake it up a bit. He has presence and (dare I say it) PERSONALITY. However, like the judges, I too was humbled and knee-buckled last night by the way in which David Archuleta came in to sweep the stage with Cook. And while Cook's orginal rendition of "Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" was AMAZING and kicked off the show SIZZLING HOT - his two following songs fell short of taking the grand prize. The 2nd - Dream Big - from the songwritering contest - was just ok - and would have sucked more done by anyone but Cook! And that 3rd song….WTF was that?
That's ok - Cook will be fine! Daughtry isn't losing any sleep over coming in 4th!

Simon was totally playing the devil's advocate last night. in years past he has always jinxed the real winner by complimenting them, so he dissed Cook on purpose so that America would vote for him and not silly Archuleta. What a total cheese David A is.

I love David Cook and wasn't a fan of Archuleta. But last night, come on, Sweet little David Archuleta rocked the house. What a sweet young man. And his voice, come on, he was amazing.
