The people that vote for David Cook, are the same people who voted for Taylor Hicks. Obviously you have no idea what's good for music and this country.
I hope David Cook wins. I mean, David A. can sing…but can he sing songs that I actually like to listen to? NO… God, I'm from David A.'s hometown and I still don't want him to win. Good Luck David C!!!

David Cook just didn't do it last night. I predicted last week that he'd win it unless he did something really lousy. And he didn't. But what happened is that Archuleta FAR outsang him…and that's enough for an Archuleta win. But both will have successful careers!
Before last night I was sure David Cook should win, but last night, David Archuletta sang so amazingly I had chills. Seriously, stylistically David Cook is more MARKETABLE to the masses who are not interested in anything other than their limited range of pop and rock selections on their ipod, but David Archuletta has a talent that I did not even fully realize until last night. Just watch, he is going to be one of those people who sings (and makes big money of singing) for a lifetime.
It felt heavily skewed in David A's direction. As talented as he is, I still feel David C. deserves the win.
David Cook is fun to watch, he's compelling and provides variety. Archuletta makes me want to hurt people when he sings. I can't stand his voice and he is always singing the same types of songs over and over. I voted for DC last night!

All of this seasons contestants have been overwhelmingly mediocre and forgettable. Both David's suck ass as far as song selection goes. Speaking of ass…don't all those screaming little girls don't know Archuleta is gay? Anyway, the judges have to continually cringe and praise the contestants to save face for the lackluster lot they chose and to keep viewers coming back or they'll be out of a job. I am unable to muster the enthusiasm to vote, period.
David Cook has a career long term. He has much more personality and singing range. DA has a short term career and Fox just wants quick money off DA's career. An Idol win for DA will be his curse and his career will be short term. DA was strategically smart, well his creepy stage dad, in playing it safe and boosting it at the end. David Cook look at Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry! Conceive, believe, receive!

To me it feels as if Archie sang the same damn song every week. Nothing stood out about him. No versatility. Archie is a good singer, but he's nowhere near to being great. He was extremely boring.

David Cook should win. David Archuleta is such a baby. There is no way he could ever handle the fame, because after every song he's ever done on the show, he looks like he is about to hyperventilate and cry. He has no personality. After every compliment, he looks like he can't believe it, like no one has ever told him he was a good singer. David Cook has a great personality and works really hard at switching it up and being original. All Archuleta can do is ballads. People will get tired of him and not care when he releases his single and he'll be dropped from his label just like SOUL PATROL.

I wasn't pulling for either David. But Archuleta won by actually singing - not losing his voice like Cook was. Yes, he's an Archuleta-BOT and looks like a scared puppy when he sings, like a wounded puppy when he's reviewed by judges. He's YOUNG. However, Cook has one tone - only one sound and it's not versatile nor would I sit through his radio sound. Daughtry was much more versatile than Cook. Since Cook proved he won't stretch his styles, I vote for Archuleta because he has tried the styles and in a "one-on-one" competition, as it was last night, Archuleta actually did have more vocal control and range. Yes, we can bag on the song choices all night long but in the end it's raw talent we're supposed to be honoring. And BTW - I think Cook teared up because of all the pressure is now over and he can be with his brother, who couldn't attend because of his brain tumor. Cook has more important things in his life to be doing and I think he's damn glad to have all this be over with. He'll have a fine career, no doubt about it.
David Archuleta, for sure. D.C. doesn't have much range. America has a bunch of rock personas. David Archuleta sings songs with unbelievable melody. David Cook can sing just 'catchy' songs. There is a difference between the two. Strong melodies last forever, catchy ones will come and go. David Archuleta is attractive to all age groups, not just young girls. David Cook is just for rockers or people who are into his style. Not saying David Cook sucks, but ARCHULETA is the clear choice.

I think David Archuleta is a better vocalist and did an amazing job last night…. he brought goose bumps and tears to my eyes… just lovely. I think Cook is really really great but I think the better vocalist is Archuleta. So, I voted for David A. Dial Idol has David Cook winning, though.
What I find funny is how everybody talks about AI's ratings being down and theshow is "over". Okay, it's still the #1 rated show… BY FAR! How is that over??? I just say let some other show beat them in the ratings and then maybe there will be cause for concern.
I do think they should do away with some of the older mentors… that can be boring at times.
I think David A. should win. Cook was good but theirs nothing special about his voice. He sounds like all the other rockers. David A yeah he sings slow songs but he does it beautifully. I think Perezhilton is mostly an adult site so yeah all the grown ups are going to say Cook. Theirs a shitload of little kids, teenagers and their parents that love Archuleta so I don't see Cook winning.

David Cook should win. Archuletta songs always have the same sound no matter what he sings, he has a pretty voice but he is way too one diminsional. David Cook is by far the better performer, but the best does not always win idol.

Did anyone else notice that David A was reading the words to the song off of a prompter positioned behind the judges..You can clearly see the prompter in several shots when he was singing..And if that wasn't bad enough, he had the words and still looked uncomfortable onstage..(kindof like a puppet)..David Cook should win this because he has more stage presence in his pinkie finger than David Arculetta has in his whole body..If Cook doesn't win then America screwed it up again..It is a popularity contest, not to see who is more talented….

David Cook is a talented musician and singer. I like him a lot…enough to have actually voted for the first time in all these years of Idol. Most seasons I get pissed when a good person gets voted off while some idiot sticks around so I quit watching before the season is over. I thought the judges were so blatantly pro David A. I really thought Simon was gonna say Game, set and match to Archieletta during his comments about Cook's song and then have to backtrack and say oh, wait a minute he hasn't sung his last song yet, has he? David Cook will be better off if he doesn't win…just for the credibility factor. Archie can win, release some single that goes nowhere and then join grandaddy Hicks on broadway once he loses his contract.

Dialidol and Zabasearch both say Cook won so if he doesn't the show is rigged. He has been the most consistantly good this season and showed the most originality and stage presence. Pooh on those of you who say he can only sing rock, his "music of the night" proved he has quite a range. Go listen to it on youtube if you don't believe me. Archuleta didn't take a single risk all season and just sang the same stale songs he sang on Star Search. He also forgot his lyrics as much as Brooke White.

The Judges Picked David A. for the win at the auditions, the whole season was rigged in his favor. Carly Smithson, Michael Johns and David Cook are WAY more talented then him but they got slammed a lot by the judges unfairly while David A. was given ridiculous amounts of praise even when he forgot lyrics or missed notes. The judges do this every season, they pick a favorite then priase them no matter what to brainwash the American public to like that person. Why do you think they have that mosh pit of girls up front that screams like crazy when they mention David A.s name? And why do you think Ryan told Natasha Beddingfield to go over and make a fuss about David A.? It's all manipulation. I never even understood why David A. was on the show at all considering he won Star Search. How many talent competitions does he have to win anyway?
I like them both, but I love Archuleta way more ! He was amazing last night, and I think Cooks performances were pretty forgettable.

They are both excellent in different ways. Cook is creative and an amazing performer. Archuletta is a phenomenal singer. His recording voice is incredible. If this is a show about Peformance then it should go to Cook. If its about being able to give goose bumps with the sound of your voice it should definitely go to Archuletta. I like both but It should go to Archuletta.
Remember folks, they only got to choose ONE song. One song was Clive Davis' pick, one was a crappy coronation song chosen from a list of "winners" in that stupid songwriting contest and the last one was a choice of either doing something new or a repeat performance. That U2 song was not David Cooks choice and I'm sure there was nothing on that songwriter's list he was too pleased about so he did the best he could do with the material he was given. His final song was for his brother.

I am a huge fan of David Cook but I was kind of disappointed that he didn't do more for the finale. I think Archie has a great voice but he has no personality and I don't think he would be very marketable as a contemporary artist. While, I think David Cook has the talent to be a very successful artist. If Taylor Hicks crazy ass won, who the f knows who's gonna win this year. I think David Cook will get signed anyway if he doesn't win.
I waited all season for Archuleta to step up and take some kind of RISK to show himself worthy of all this butt kissing by the judges, he never did. He played it safe all season doing the same thing every week. I would have liked to see him try something ballsy like doing a Keane song or something from Norah Jones. Instead he did played out songs like Phil Collins, Stand by Me and Dont let the sun go down. Yeh like we haven't heard this shit a bazillion times on idol. What was that Simon said about not being old fashioned? Meanwhile they PRAISE this crud.
I never watch Idol. I don't mind the tryouts at all, and the people that suck are just hilarious! But I could really care less about the show in general.
