Janet Jackson, who has undeniably influenced pop culture with over a 100 million album sold, countless hit singles, awards and accolades, announced the launch of her Rock Witchu tour on the Ellen DeGeneres show yesterday afternoon. This is Jackson’s first tour in over seven years and is expected to feature the hit songs and innovative dance routines that have made her one of the most celebrated artists in history.
The Live Nation produced tour kicking off in Vancouver, BC on September 10th, will feature dates in DC, New Jersey, Oakland, Montreal, and Toronto to name a few and is expected to hit major markets as it travels across the country. In contrast, there was always speculation about Jackson's tour starting in September, 2008. So, the dates of Janet and Madonna touring at the same time are pure coincidental at the best. Both stars are signed with LiveNation. I like to give credit where credit is due. Madonna beats Janet at Marketing herself and we know the predominant reason for that. Jackson beats Madonna when it comes to entertainment and core talent in performance. Both have achieved a tremendous amount of success albeit in different genres. If Jackson were white like us, trust me…she would be considered the best in the industry. She has been underplayed and not been appreciated with the same spot light. So in other words, Madonna is brave to be touring beside Jackson. I really do not think each of their could give a damn. Ticket sales and prices may favor Madonna but wait and see, Jackson's show will beat hers the world over. Madonna's accomplishments are overplayed and overhyped. Jackson's accomplishments quite the contrary. I wish to say that I prefer substance over Style. That is music, that is art. Marketing and manipulation of art is purely business. Her music is the kind that an adult or teen - gay or straight can listen to. You can hear janet's music anywhere, at a gay club. straight club. prom. wedding reception. unlike Madonna.Physically, janet has a booty. breasts and a 12 pack. Madonna looks like she takes HGH and is manish. Janet keeps it real when she expresses herself. While Madonna speaks in a fake British accent. Janet can sing while Madonna is tone deaf.
