I do not want either of these guys to win. American Idol manipulates the viewer's opinion by what they say about them, especially Simon, the clips they use to highlight performances, and the outside gossip (like Lil davies daddy) to win ublic favour. We know who is actually calling in to vote, and so do the producers! Many people may watch the show, but how many sit there and vote? And what is their demographic? "Reality" tv is not Reality, and American Idol, while not "fixed" per se, is most certainly massaged and subject to editiorial preferences. Didn;t Simon say Cook would win????? Yeah, I thought so! Let's see who will make it tonight . . .

ANYWAYS, I think that David Cook would benefit more from NOT winning. He'd have more control over his album without record execs breathing down his neck to make pop 'hits.' Archuletta is more poppy anyways, and would be a better idol. They're both great though! We need a tie! : P

American Idol isnt just about the voice. They have to have the whole package! Mr. Cook has it all! His voice is amazing, he has a lot of stage presence, hes original, and he is a sweetheart! Obviously Archie is the cutest thing i have ever seen but really could you imagine listening to his CD? It would be full of ballads and it would probably get a little boring. He is very predictable, but he is way talented. His voice is flawless but he lacks everything else that David Cook has!

I absolutely love Cook, but I want Archuleta to win. Mostly because A) The winners hardly ever get the press that they deserve and don't generally get the fame they've earned and B) The winner is locked into an Idol contract for two years after the show is over.
I would rather Cook lose but get to put out his own kind of music instead of winning and having to sing what they want him to.

David Archuleta is a nice kid but I just can't get into him musically, he's boring to me. I like music with some soul and some grit and he doesn't have it yet. He needs to mature and develop a sense of himself. Cook knows who he is and knows how to perform and connect with the crowd, it comes natural to him and he took more risks than any other contestant before, he should be rewarded for that.
I hope tonights big suprise celebrity guest is Mandy Moore. Cook has the hots for her so it would be funny if Ryan brought her out on stage for Cook. He wouldn't know what to say! They would make a really cute couple.

David Archuletta needs the name of "IDOL" in order to be famous and to make the show a ton of money so there is no doubt that he will win.
BUT
David Cook is BY FAR the better singer and SHOULD be the next American Idol. But even without the name of "IDOL" he'll definitely be successful (Look at Chris Daughtry) !
David Cook is a Chris Daughtry clone minus the baldness. And since Daughtry is a sack of worthless radiorock shit, Cook would not be my choice to win. Go to any bar in any city with a house band playing and you'll find a David Cook on lead vocals. Yawn.
Archuleta, on the other hand, will be a huge star in the tween/teen market. Not that this makes him any more original, but at least his VOICE isn't something you hear everyday. He sounds almost like a young/inexperienced Josh Grobin. And he's so young, he's got his life ahead of him to build a career. When you take into account the voice, there aren't many kids like Archuleta out there.
If Cook wins, he'll fade into bland radiorock obscurity in a matter of months.
