We have ENOUGH wannabe Nirvana and Muse singers. It's not that he's not talented but he has all of one octave and sounds exactly like every other guitar playing rockers who dress very "metrosexual". The young kid had immense talent, a voice that made the hairs on your arms stand up. He could sing many genres of music with confidence and the other guy couldn't. The Cooke guy actually drove me crazy with his slow blinking all the time and acting all spiritual. You could tell his ego was out the door. Nothing against him at all but there is no "star" quality about him. Reminds me of that Taylor Hicks guy. Taylor who????

I think people like David Cook because he is a cinderella story - he used to be a bartender, and his life has basically changed overnight. Archuleta has been groomed for this for the past 10 years, and if he hasn't made it big yet, well, there's probably a reason for that (no personality). He didn't need the show.
