so this is how it goes.. cook sings exactly like hinder, nickelback, chris daughtry etc. He didnt even want to try out for the show.. and david archuleta was honestly shocked after every performance. you could see how he wanted it. He had something knew that hasnt been done in a really long time. i think that it would have been amazing for archuleta to win

I am soooo happy. David is classy, original, a gentleman and a top-notch singer who always gives a great performance. I firmly believed David Archuleta would win, but wanted David Cook to, based on last night's raves from the judges. I screamed when they said it was my David!! I'm so thrilled, and it will be the 1st time I buy an Idol's record.

Neither David deserved to win, Jason Castro was the best of the season. Granted he struggled a little bit with the pressure, but he had the best voice and will eventually be the most famous person from this season. Gig 'Em JASON CASTRO!

I would have been happy with either one winning. David Cook has a voice that can make anything sound great, David A. has that effect also, but more contemporary. Congrats to both finalists as they have deserved to come this far and will both have contracts soon.
I do think that Simon knew who the winner was beforehand…only and especially b/c he apologized to him for his rude comments last night and obviously right before the announcement was made.

I don't know why the finale needed to be 2 hours long. That is pointless. It was beyond boring. Having to sit there and suffer through boring performances from all the past contestants, the stupid group performances, plus all the washed up celebrities. Seriously, it doesn't need to be that long. That was torture. I had to turn the channel until the last 5 minutes because thats all I really cared to see anyway. And yeah, I think right person won. That David Archuleta kid is creepy. He'd be like another Clay Aiken… gross.

Just goes to prove that America finally figured out that if you want someone to win, even if they don't give the most astonishing performance of the night, you still vote for them. I loved David Cook, he has great stage presence and is a talented musician. David A. was bland every week to me, with the exception of last night. I voted with my heart and for the person whose music I'd actually buy and listen to and thank goodness those 12 million votes of mine paid off! LOL!

As soon as Ryan announced it was Cook i jumped up, clapped, screamed and my whole body was shaking!!
