David Cook is more mature and more defined as an artist so he will handle the title of American Idol better than Archuleta. Archuleta is of course incredibly talented but too young and i don't think he knows what kind of artist he wants to be yet. I'd hope Archuleta would go to college, study music formally, dabble with different kinds of music (other than the Josh Groban light night music) and grow more as an artist. Having said that, it won't happen since his dad will sign him out to whichever label that throws the most $$ at them …

Although I don't like the style of music that Cook sings, he is a great talent. I think, though, that Cook would have gotten a better record deal if he had lost (ie/ Daughtry, Josh Gracin, Kelly Pickler, etc). I wanted Archuleta to win, but seeing Cook cry was enough to make me happy with the winner. Archuleta is young - he has so many more years to establish a great career.

I think this was one of THE BEST seasons of american idol. Both were fantastic singers, david archuleta probably had a more arguably natural talent, but cook was the better performer. Either way, archuleta will be endlessly successful and so will david cook.

that was the most painful 2 hours of tv I've ever been subjected to. Way too long filled with way too many washed up musicians and way too boring songs. I watched only because I had to due to circumstances beyond my control. Scooping my brain out with a spoon, bit by bit, would have been more pleasant. Thank god the right David won–it was the only redeeming moment of the entire show.

That song they made him sing at the end was just horrible. It's sad Cook won because his first IDOL produced CD will suck sooo bad. Archie would have been a better choice. He has no musical idenity of his own so he would have done well with some over produced schmaltz. IDOL probably fixed it, not wanting to deal with Archies dad for one second longer.
