Thank you for posting this worthwhile cause. Brain cancer does not get the same funding or research as other types of cancer. Whether you like Ted Kennedy or not, this is something that I will gladly donate to. My aunt was diagnosed with the same type of brain tumor as Kennedy. She is 40 years old and has 2 yound daughters. Think about her when you make your donation instead.

Why does Ted Kennedy have to get brain cancer for people to care about it? In my family we have been dealing with brain cancer for 6 years–my husband has gotten it twice. It annoys me that when a regular person has it, no one cares–but if a Kennedy gets it, then it is important. Ugh!!

Once again, so many of us, including young people (im 22) are suffering from this disease….it just takes a public figure to give it some attention (and perhaps David Cook's brother and Grey's Anatomy). Brain cancer eats away at your family, and yourself. I am all too familiar with it….Think of other people - think about the fact my hot ass hasn't had sex in 8 months since I have no sex drive from chemo!!!!!!!!! DO IT FOR THE LOVE MAKING!!!!

Way to go, Perez. My oldest friend is currently battling brain cancer herself. We have been friends since childhood & I wouldn't wish this on anyone, regardless of their past. Thank you thank you Perez for bringing light to this foundation. You are not helping ted kennedy personally, meliss, there are thousands of people dying from primary brain tumors every year. Unfortuntately, it doesn't get as much press as say, breast cancer, and it takes "celebrities" being diagnosed to bring light to it. My mom died after eleven short months post-diagnosis-of a glioblastoma multiforme. Other people benefit from your donations, its not about Ted Kennedy.
my cousin just died of brain cancer and no one could do anything to help her. but now that a kennedy is diagnosed thats all i have to fucking hear about. yea well hes 76, my cousin, 21…at least he lived a long life.
My beautiful roommate from college had breast cancer that spread to her brain, which ultimately killed her at the age of 35. I will donate in her honor.

If you frequent the site, which I'm sure you do if you are leaving comments, you would remember that Perez mentioned one charity in the beginning, and was told that because he mentioned it, they got thousands and thousands of hits they wouldnt have otherwise got. There is nothing wrong with him posting charities soley out of the goodness of his heart. And it is not a fake charity, they do so much good work, they are completely focused on research for brain tumors.

My great grandma had the exact same type of tumor/cancer that Kennedy does. It was a really hard thing to go through because when they removed the tumor she only lived for a couple weeks and she wasn't the same person. She showed no emotions and barely knew who her family was. It's really sad that people on this thread can't get past the fact that he wasn't the best person in the world. So what? He is certainly not the ONLY person who suffers from this disease. My heart breaks for those people who have to go through this and their families because I know what its like. Please look past Kennedy and know you'd be helping the many other people who are suffering from the same thing.

Well, it would seem that Ted Kennedy's conscience has finally caught up with him… and it only took 39 years. He is 76 years old and has led a very full and very privileged life - which is more than you can say for Mary-Jo Kopechne - who he left to slowly die, terrified in a car. Instead of walking to the lit house 400 ft away to get help - he instead walked back to the party - then back to his hotel for a shower and a nap (taking time out to complain about the noise of a party to the night clerk) and didn't say a SINGLE WORD to anyone who would help (his lawyer friends attempted to help but still did not report the incident) until the next morning. Reports show that she survived in that car for a couple of hours…imagine for a moment what that experience would have felt like for her. She didn't drown - she suffocated and Ted Kennedy just walked away. His actions and choices were spectacularly evil. Sure - everyone makes a 'mistake'… but in those instances, one goes to get help - not into cover your ass mode. So his brain tumor is going to cause him difficulty speaking… looks like that is nothing new.
The amazing thing is america has gone all googly-eyed for the love in of the last 'kennedy'… overlooking the darkness in that small shallow heart of his…if that doesn't tell you everything right there… nothing will.

The Tale of Teddy part I
Once upon a time there was a rich US senator named Teddy. He had a beautiful wife who loved him very much, but Teddy was a naughty boy. He liked to drink whiskey and play with other women. Teddy also liked to drive fast after drinking lots of whiskey.
Teddy liked Mary Jo. One night after drinking a fifth of whiskey, Teddy asked Mary Jo to go for a ride in Teddy's Oldsmobile. Mary Jo got in the car and wheee! down the road Teddy raced.
Soon they came upon a bridge. Teddy told Mary Jo to hang on while he floored it. Then something bad happened. Teddy's car plunged into the dark river.
Teddy managed to get out of the car and slowly and steadily swam to shore. Those swimming lessons really paid off!
Mary Jo cried out "Help!" but Teddy didn't hear her as he ran home. Teddy's Oldsmobile sank to the bottom of the river and there Mary Jo died. She lived for a while down there in the murky water, trapped in the Oldsmobile. Mary Jo's body was found pressed up in the car in the spot where an air bubble would have formed. Thank goodness she had about 2 hours before she died so she could get right with God!
The Tale of Teddy part II
Teddy made it to his hotel alive, got into bed and passed out.
The next morning, when Teddy came to, he told his friends what had happened. He was afraid people would wonder why he was in his car late at night with Mary Jo and not his wife. They might wonder why he drank lots of whiskey, drove his Oldsmobile and left Mary Jo in the car to die. He was mostly afraid that he might be fired from the senate or go to jail. Then he wouldn't be able to drink whiskey and play with women.
His friends told him not to worry they would make this bad thing go away. Teddy's rich dad always paid people to make bad things go away. Teddy could do the same.
Teddy and his friends were outside when they saw the police driving to the bridge. Oh no! The accident had been discovered!
All you bleeding heart sissies should step back on this one. It's not like this happened to a good person, if it did then I would feel bad. But Kennedy is a worthless parasite, a murderer, and the type of person who deserves brain cancer 100%.
Save your money. Organizations like this will never cure brain cancer/tumors because they are looking for solutions in all the wrong places and ignoring what is right in front of them.
Cancer has grown over the past century due entirely to the constant onslaught of new MAN MADE chemicals and poisons being released into our atmosphere every day. These toxins enter our body through air water even our food and the only way to fully understand how to cure oneself on cancer is to understand that these toxins need to be removed from the body via alternative means.
Chemotherapy is a joke. I am shocked that more people dont question this practice. It goes to show how naive people can be. Chemotherapy is not medicine. All the drugs used in chemo are cancer causing. Does that make sense to anyone?
Spread the word to everyone you know who has a loved one considering such a barbaric form of cancer treatment. You cannot poison the body into health. That is why cancer tends to "come back" in these people. It never really left. You cannot treat the symptom of cancer [tumors] You must treat the cause.
Google alternative cancer treatments to find out how removing chemicals from your body cells will remove cancer as well. Do it. You will be surprised at how many books and other resources are available for you to educate yourselves.

I'll totally donate to the Brain Tumor Foundation, plus I'll also pony up the money for the bullet we can shoot right into Ted Kennedy's brain. It's the humane thing to do. Unfortunatley since he's going straight to hell he won't be able to tell that poor girl he's so sorry for what he did.
My mom died from the same tumor in Jan of 06.
It was very hard watching this happen.
I miss her everyday and I couldn't imagine how hard it is for his family. I had her around for almost 3 years after her seisure that diagnosed her with this horrible cancer.

Ted Kennedy aside, my brother died two years ago from a brain tumor. He had it for 11 years and together we went through two surgeries, three rounds of chemo and one round of radiation. He had some of the best doctors in NYC if not the world and he could not be saved. I watched him suffer through this disease and die an undescribably painful and horrible death. So whatever your feelings for Ted Kennedy may be, think about the people as a whole with the disease, instead of someone you dislike.

Mary Jo's deathbed:
Chillingly cold, watery, claustrophobic, hard, quickly diminishing supply of oxygen, every wrenching ache of pain is felt, no family, friends and priest gathered around Mary Jo to support her with kind words, instead she dies alone. Mary Jo's frightended cries of pain are in vain because Ted walked past 4 homes and told no one of the crash until nearly 24 hours later and only because the crash had been discovered.

I just lost a very dear NINE year old friend to a brain tumour. It was an incredibly cruel and horrible way to die. If cures and treatments can be developed for this condition I would be so happy. No one should have had to die like my friend Ben. This is isn't about Senator Kennedy. He's not the only one with the disease.

absolutely agree with post #13. shame on you for judging others. Ted Kennedy is a great man who has done great things for the country. My thoughts and prayers are with him and the kennedys as well as those who are battling with cancer.
For all you people too young to remember Teddy leaving Mary Jo to die you need to know one thing: Teddy was not a fat slob back in 1969 so he could have quickly swam to shore and ran to get help for Mary Jo in plenty of time to save her life. If the same accident happened today Teddy would have died because he would be too large to remove himself from the car.
PS For all we know Teddy may have pushed poor Mary Jo out of his way in his haste to get out of the sunken car and that got her stuck.
