Luckily, the gay lifestyle is becoming accepted. Also, gay marriage IS legal in California now.
And thirdly, a person's sexual orientation has nothing to do with "being capable of true loving, committed relationships." Many heterosexual and homosexual couples find this difficult. In the case of Jodie Foster and her ex-girlfriend, it is clear that they *did* have a loving, committed relationship — for 14 years! That is AMAZING for ANY couple in this day and age, especially a celeb couple, and way more of a commitment than any heterosexual relationship I've ever had.
