I was at the event and Katie did an amazing job. She was the co-chair for a very important initiative that Bette Midler has spent the last 10 years creating - to renovate and renew rundown areas of NYC into beautiful parks. Every year Bette does the sing-a-long and people love it. We wouldn't have wanted Katie to be stoic and proper like she was doing the news up there. She had fun with it and was even dancing with the partygoers and her boyfriend. Cut her some slack.
Perez, Perez, Perez. How you disappoint me, crackin that gibber jabber about our friend Kate Being a middle aged disposable income type of person, I would have LOVED to have been at the fundraiser, Kate looked a wee bit nervous, but she did it for a good cause. Can't wait to see what you're gonna do when your middle aged.

She has zero stature and will be relgated to the slag heap of female anchor history. A Paula Zahn/ Meredith Viera type would have been a much better type. She was out of her league when handling hard news on TODAY, and she is SO lost and out of her element on the Evening News.

So, how come Brian Williams can go on SNL, the Daily Show, and Conan O'Brien without anyone saying he's not serious enough for the nightly news? Why is it that everytime Katie Couric blinks out of turn, everyone flips out?
