  9. Bella says – reply to this

    109

They've been casting it via LateNightShots.com, an exclusive closed social networking site that was founded in DC… it's basically a bunch of transplants who live in Georgetown and take douchiness (and coke habits) to new levels. Lame.

    111

I think it is going to follow the LNS/Smith Point crowd. Think very very very preppy meets very very very very obnoxious. But since I live here, I will def. watch :)

hmm….interesting I guess. Never seen a cool show from Washington DC. I wonder why they aren't doing NYC? I'd like to see fake rich people pretend to do reality there.

  14. Adail says – reply to this

    114

that would be cool, but i'd REALLY lke to see a Hills show set in new york.

  15. SB says – reply to this

    115

FYI: they tried to do a Real World DC (or so the rumor goes) and even had the house secured in Adams Morgan, but some sort of permits fell through…or so the story goes. I have heard this DC Hills rumor for a long time and saw it posted on dcist.com… It's perfect! DC is like LA but for ugly people. Every day new interns are arriving fresh off the bus just waiting to be Mr/Ms important in some sleezy or corrupt congressional office. I sense the entire show will be like "I'm here to make a difference in the world…or atleast get all the hot chicks…DO YOU KNOW WHO MY FATHER IS?!!?" HAHHAHAHA!

  16. liz says – reply to this

    116

definitely going to be Great Falls or McLean VA (both in fairfax county, the richest county in the country - look it up) and plus the creator of the OC went to Langley so most likely…

  17. better than you says – reply to this

  23. Mark says – reply to this

    123

DC is lame. It's all concrete and monuments. Why not somewhere interesting, fun, young, vibrant, fabulous, and sexy like NY or Boston!!!!

  24. Megs says – reply to this

    124

MTV, stay away from our D.C.!

  25. ks says – reply to this

    125

Yeah. That's all we need. Another Hills. Another crappy, fake, reality show. With vacuous women and metrosexual males that don't know if they're coming or going. Lordy.

  26. va.aint4lovers says – reply to this

    126

    J'adore the idea.

  27. Marke says – reply to this

Who needs Jason/Stephen when you you could have had Bill.

  28. MOLLLYYYY W ANNAPOLISSSS says – reply to this

    128

uhmmmm duh its a good idea, maybe the first show thats not about breaking up wth someone you were never offically dating, oh shitfuck LC whatre we doing tongiht? drinksssssssss yessssss pleeezzzzzzzz betch. snooooooozzzzeeeee. but it would be better in ANNAPOLISSSSS.

  29. candie says – reply to this

    129

omgggg i live near DC PICK SHERWOOD HIGH SCHOOL lol

  30. Elizabeth says – reply to this

    130

The show is going to be great, Georgetown is probably the best place to go out in DC.

  31. ashley says – reply to this

    131

What?? In DC?? OH OH OH, imma try and watch the first episode to see how it goes because i'm currently a college student in DC and i want the cast to be COMPLETELY different from The Hill in LA. DC is one of the dangerous and diverse city and everything there is REAL. There are A LOT of events and shows there. The clubs there are AWESOMASTIC! Plus a lot of college students from all over the world goes there for their education. Good luck!

  32. e says – reply to this

    132

DO NOT WANT. Don't ruin a great city for some stupid show.

  33. DC GIRLIE!! says – reply to this

  34. ksmurfer says – reply to this

    134

Well if it's anything like their Laguna Beach spin-off then it's more than likely we won't have to endure more than a season of "The Hills in DC".

  35. lisa says – reply to this

    135

your spot in the hollywood lights??

  36. jennifer says – reply to this

    136

hahahahahahahaha wow they just move "laguna beach" from city to city once we get bored.

  37. jem says – reply to this

    137

I live in DC. It sucks.

  38. Ali says – reply to this

    138

If they are trying to show a paralell between the two coasts, then the reality TV version of Laguna Beach should be filmed at a highschool in a seaside community in Connectciut, like Greenwich or Westport. Fairfield County towns are the equivalent east coast community to west coast's Orange County. Same obnoxious rich teens and silly drama, with ocean front backdrops and gorfeous mansions. Then, if they wanted to make it real, the kids that grow up and leave Fairfield country would move to NYC, not DC.

  39. Kristin says – reply to this

    139

I think its a great idea! i live like a half an hour from DC and there's never any excitement besides the boring politics stuff or shootings. and EVERYTHING is always in New York or LA, so i think it would be a good change!

  40. megan says – reply to this

    140

sounds good! thank god no more nyc…. waaay too overdone!
dc has a sick night life but also has actual history… so maybe the bitches on it wont be so stupid!

  41. Rob says – reply to this

    141

When will it ever stop? Seriously.

  42. Hissing Queen says – reply to this

    142

Sounds busted, the east coast has nothing on the west coast. I really don't think the people over there understand it either. NYC is an amazing city true, so why would they choose DC? I mean come on I've been there it is filled with nothing but ugly, rude, obnoxious, people with HORRIBLE accents. Los Angeles, is truely an amazing city with magic; magic that DC wont be able to capture. What are they going to do on the show? Hang out in their drabby weather? Talk about their skanky outfits? Their quido boyfriends? Suck down their cigs? Sounds really fun to me! Look at what happened to Bravo's real housewives! No one likes the NYC woman as much as their OC counterparts!

    C.A.L.I.F.O.R.N.I.A for life BITCHES!

  45. Bethany says – reply to this

  46. Hissing Queen says – reply to this

    146

Hey "better than you" you fucking idiot, why don't you look up the richest counties in the us! Orange comes in at NUMBER 1, California's population is estimated to have reached 37,700,000, making it the most populated state. Califronia has a the largest gross state product at 1.727 TRILLION. If California were an independent country it would be NUMBER 8 in the world! So listen here "IDIOT "BETTER THAN YOU" learn something before you talk shit, because California is OBVIOUSLY THE BEST STATE IN COUNTRY!!

as long as there isnt a character as annoying and talentless as heidi montag.. itll probably be dumb though…

  51. ks says – reply to this

    151

HI HISSING QUEEN. I've lived in California all of my life and I am so happy someone has something nice to say about California. I'm used to reading insulting remarks about liberals and hippies and hot tubs and nekkidness. And, while much of this is quite true (and not in a bad way at all), some people make these mean remarks because they've either never been here, or they are jealous. Tee hee. Thanks, H.Q.

i'm from the dc area, and i would totally hate it if cameras were to follow around one of our preppy, stuck up, spoiled brats around everywhere. mtv needs to get some real shows again.

  54. G says – reply to this

    154

they should follow kids that work for non profits or intern with politicians. I've done just that in DC and trust me, when you have 20 kids living, working, and playing together the draaaaaama that comes as a result is insane

  55. jane says – reply to this

i hope they get some senators daughters on this show!

Re: Alex – They sure should. Little twats couldn't handle it here for a second. I'd love to see them bring those girls here! I know they are doing it with different people, but I'd love to see LC quiver her ass down North Avenue!! That would be some funny shit!

  57. Hissing Queen says – reply to this

    157

Hey "ks" I've got to rep Cali, you're so right! People really don't get it until they been to California; Whats not to love? Gorgeous weather, gorgeous people, gorgeous state, 3 alpha world cities, so diverse, so accepting. Anything you can do in any other state you can do in California and even more! I just can't fathom the thought of living somewhere such as Virginia, Florida, Illinois, Maryland… So boring, although I will say that they have very lush landscape there… OH WAIT WE HAVE THAT IN CALIFORNIA TOO!

  58. Liz says – reply to this

    158

What's next, The Hills in freaking Ohio?! Come on!

  59. TTT says – reply to this

I'm from Westport, it was going to be in Westport but no one was stupid enough to agree to this life ruining bullshit, we're better off than those stupid fucking OC posers

  60. kelly E12 says – reply to this

    160

i like the idea of a hills like show in DC. as long as it is based on some sort of political views and current events and the intelligence that revolves around the DC area it should be a good show and not the same old trash they show on tv nowadays.

  61. Russo says – reply to this

    161

It's probably more about the general business world than politics. I assume it is with people from Fairfax or Mountgomery County.. Super rich

  62. charity says – reply to this

    162

please let these people have some depth and personality!!! unlike lauren and audrina

  63. Kitty says – reply to this

    163

Well, I was forced to relocate to the DC area for my husbands job from the sunshine state. I also visit Cali regularly. Let me tell you, the people here are sooooooo conservative, boring, and fug! That show would be awesome cause all the attractive and hip people in the US would feel so much better about themselves!

  64. luci says – reply to this

    164

leave to MTV to add another reality show.

  65. izzy says – reply to this

    172

YEAA! FINALLY A MTV SHOW IN D.C.!!!!

    :)

  73. Carley says – reply to this

    173

From the perspective of a student who goes to college in the DC area … it totally sucks. DC's culture is completely untouched by the media and I think that is what makes it so special.

As much as I love the Hills… I think that is too west coast for it to translate well to the east.

  74. Laura says – reply to this

    174

Why D.C.?…..you would think they would have it in NYC…like laguna beach was created based of the OC show…so why not follow some upper east side hoes like gossip girl…just a thought it will be fake as hell whereever they have it

  75. Brittany says – reply to this

    175

umm this sounds retarted. They should just stick to the hills and not try to make some dumb show about Washington D.C. I'm mean really..? Cali is so much more exciting! I think the show would be lame. duh ppl.

  76. breevandekamphodge says – reply to this

    176

Re: Kitty – Kitty, I am in the same situation you are in. Husband got a job here. The standards for beauty are lower but people are definitely more intelligent out here as a whole. I am a newbie in McLean. I like it here, but would like to be closer to the district.

  77. Anonymous says – reply to this

    177

Boo, they should have one in NYC… Screw DC!

  78. REality Mogul says – reply to this

    178

Why would people want to watch another TV show based in NYC.?

DC is an awesome party town, and unfortunately has a handful of rich snobs in Georgetown. If the tv show "227" was based in DC, then this show should performs wonders.

    Re: Hissing Queen
Haha…you wrote "jealous much" after all your ranting and raving about Cali. Sounds like you may be the jealous one. Awww…are you mad that someone might actually use smart people in a show? Don't be mad. We promise that MTV will keep making shows about fake boobied, rhinoplastERED, liposucked, fake asses like you. There's still hope. Calm down, hon.
PS My friend went to LA and said it was the dirtiest place she'd ever been, and we're from Baltimore!! Wow…that's pretty bad.
I have no worries that you'll read this. You obviously check these posts to see if anyone responds to your rants! You've got an awful lot of posts…JEALOUS BITCH!!!!

come to chicago! seriously, north chicago has all the rich snobs who use their daddy's credit cards all day. they shop at high end stores and malls and have ken doll looking boyfriends. i'd know! they are soo rude too, they are snobs. they think they are better than everyone. would make pefect for a drama reality show! come on mtv!! chicago!!

  84. Dev says – reply to this

    184

I really hope this is a rumor that proves to be FALSE. DC is my favorite city and is far classier than LA — please don't tarnish it with dumb wannabe talent-less people with too much money!

  87. jessica says – reply to this

    187

They were advertising casting calls for this on Late Night Shots, the Georgetown social networking site. Therefore, it will suck, because while it may be a stereotype that Georgetown students are preppy, selfish, rich a**holes, and many of the students probably don't fall into this category, there are enough of them who do to give the students a bad reputation.

  88. DCist says – reply to this

    188

yeah this has been floating around for months, although first we all heard it was going to be a "true life" episode or something.

MANY of my friends were offered by various producers in the project, and DECLINED.

THEY DECLINED BECUASE THIS IS THE KIND OF TOWN WHERE ITS THE PRIVATE AFFAIRS THAT ARE ALWAYS MORE FUN ;) OH and these friends cited as reasons, for example, that they have dignity, reputations, and as is especially here…..classified (as in GOVERNMENT) jobs.

blgh. i'd still watch it though to ridicule the B-listers actually willing to do it!

  89. FFX girl says – reply to this

    189

ummm # 39 (Steph) you suck! NOVA by the way is the COMMUNITY COLLEGE! People from Northern VA don't call where we live NOVA. DC rocks and so does NORTHERN VA….don't hate b/c you're not cool enough and blessed enough to have grown up there and be able to afford it now…..

    BRING IT TO DC……

I want a spinoff show called Leave it to Beaver, I mean Audrina. Nice teeth

  91. Kate says – reply to this

    191

L.A. isn't all about celebrities and Hollywood just DC isn't all about politics. I've lived in Montgomery County my whole life, and I've been waiting since 1997 for a Real World DC. So it's cool that they are finally doing a reality show–if it is true. You really can't stick everyone in the same group. Everywhere you go, whether L.A., NYC, or DC, you're going to get a mix of people. It's not just dumb or smart people, or ugly or beautiful people. This area is full of super rich people and poor people on welfare as well (with everything in between)–just like L.A.

And it's not going to be a show that features screen shots of monuments and museums for the whole 24 minutes. That's all backround. It's about the peoples' lives–like the Hills. The show might work or not. It just depends how interesting MTV makes it. Laguna Beach was great for the first few seasons and then it started to suck–and they stayed in the same area. It's mostly about the characters and storylines so if this show has what the Hills has or what early Laguna Beach had then it will do well.

  92. actuallyknowsaboutdc says – reply to this

    192

Hissy Whatever your name is: Fairfax County in Virginia, a DC suburb, was named #1 richest county in the US by Forbes in Jan 2008. Beside it at #2 was Loudon, Fairfax's neighboring county. While DC on average isn't terribly wealthy because of some of it's inner city communities (which every city has and why major cities generally don't have ridiculous per-capita incomes), there are sections of the city that are soaked in money like Kalorama, Chevy Chase, Palisades, Georgetown, etc. And several other DC suburban counties showed up near the top of that list. I live in DC and trust me, there is plenty of money here and plenty of snobbery. And whoever said people in DC had weird accents…that's pretty laughable. General consensus among locals and imports alike is that the accent here is fairly generic and a mix of several accents because the population is so transient. You couldn't pick out someone as being from DC by the way they speak like you can with alot of folks from say Boston or Baltimore. Anyway, I wish people would know what they're talking about before they start ranting and raving like moronic homers.

  97. trisha says – reply to this

    197

I'd LOVE it if the people on the show had jobs or internships or something attatched to politics. But with all the drama like the hills, that'd be great.

  98. Spencer's Velociraptor Teeth says – reply to this

    198

I'm a little worried about this idea. There's a show called The Real Housewives of Orange County. OK, I am not proud to admit that I have watched this - but hey we all have guilty pleasures.) The show wasn't too bad - some characters were relateable. When Bravo moved this show out of LA and to the East Coast (Real Housewives of NYC), it totally sucked. In fact, seeing a commercial for it makes me queasy.

I think it's a bad idea to take The Hills out of the hills. That's my $.02, take it or leave it.

  99. Spencer's Velociraptor Teeth says – reply to this
