It's happened.
Madonna is going back to Michigan for the first time in many many years.
Her Madgesty is set to headline this year's Traverse City Film Festival.
She will arrive on August 2nd to show her documentary about Malawai, I am Because We Are.
Michael Moore, the event founder, said Madonna "will present the film in person, watch it with the audience and conduct a question-and-answer session afterwards. It's a huge coup for the Film Festival, and for Traverse City."
Tickets to view Madonna's docu will go on sale next month, a whole month earlier than tickets will go on sale for the rest of the films.
Obvs people should buy them quickly, since the downtown theatre only seats 540.
Moore adds, "She spent the past couple of years filming what the people go through, and the efforts to help them. I saw the film about a month ago. It's a fantastic, powerful movie."
The festival takes plac from July 29th through August 3rd.
As a special offering, they will be showing A League of Their Own at the Open Space on the same night as Madonna's film shows.
Moore adds, "I've got a couple other surprises up my sleeve for the Film Festival," he said.

First of all, Bay City (her city of birth) is not remotely near Traverse City. Second of all, she has been to Traverse City quite frequently as her father has a vineyard there and has been in poor health for a few years. She is just really quiet about her visits so nobody knows she is there. But it isn't like it's a big homecoming for her. It's not her first time back in Michigan in many,many years. Not even close.

TC is def. not one of the smallest towns in Michigan… by far. Sault Ste. Marie, Marquette, Escanaba, St. Ignace, Cadillac, Alpena… ALL SMALLER… not to mention the outlying towns that surround them. I can name probably 20 towns that have a population less than 500.

I love Traverse City and all of Michigan to be exact. I was born in Rochester where Madonna actually grew up and went to school. I am on the fence about Madoona because she is a british wanna be even though she grew up in Rochester, Michigan, which happens to be one of the nicest, richest places in the suburbs of Detroit. Quit you fucking whining bitch and be proud of where you came from like most people. I love Michigan and hate the fact I had to move to another state (wyoming to be exact) for a job due to the shitty economy in Michigan.
