Guys guys guys! stop fighting! Yes, bloc voting does exist, but it's not as bad as you say. Some countries this year totally surprised me because they gave good points to countries that werent in their "block" at all!! For my taste - france was the best, but songs like that never win. In Eurovision it is a special type of songs that win, because the MAINSTREEM of people have to vote for them. And these people usually arent real music experts. So its really important that the song is catchy and the show is special and memorable. You say norway should have won - yes, maybe norwegian song is better, but the show was so boring and the song not that catchy, 10 minutes later i have forgotten about the norwegian song. That is why it hasnt won. Good songs are seldom catchy and memorable the first time you hear it. That is why eurovision requires another type of "good" songs to win. And as i said the show matters. Russia won because, well the boy CAN sing. He hit the right notes compared to many other countries. And the show was memorable! I mean WORLD CHAMPION in figure skating? Who wouldn't remember that?? I was watching russia's points carefully, and they did get good points from almost every country except a few. So it wasnt block voting that made him win. Everyone contributed!
This contest has become a farce because of eastern countries (sorry but that's true) and their regionalist votes.
They have terrible taste whent it comes to music but oh well..they think it's great music.
Good for them.
Western countries should really think about doing like Italy and not participate this joke.

The more i listen to that song the more i like it! I also liked Greece's song! To be honest i think this year the songs in general were better than usual, and that's why Dustin didn't get through! There weren't many novelty songs this year (obv there was bosnia herzegovina, but i actually liked that too lol)!!

Songs like Denmark's or Germany's got totally overlooked.
No Angels's "Disappear" was great, but you need to listen to it more than once to actually like it. But I really don't understand why they only got 14 points. The song was - IMO - the best entry next to "Shady Lady" (Ukraine). The rest was like songs from back in time (Iceland's "This Is My Life" sounds too much like UK's Steps back in the late 90's!!).

as for "eastern european countries vote only for each other" shit… as if… northern countries like norway, denmark, finland, etc… voted for each other too, as well as spanish-portuguese speaking countries… and most of the european countries voted for that talentless girl who represented Greece… no offense… but Greece had way better representatives in the past… and Bilan was indeed better than her this time…
I think that the first place should have won either Ukrainian girl (in terms of the quality of the song… she had very strong performance too) but my personal favorite was Maria from norway… she has such a nice voice… and she's so cute

I'm from Belgium and my country didn't even make the finals.. I've watched the whole contest and me and my mother voted for two different songs. When I saw the Belgian points for the songs, I was dissapointed. I think the immigrant people are the only ones who vote for this. A lot of points were given to countries we have a lot of immigrants from (for example Greece, Spain, Armenia, Turkey), that's not because Belgian people like that song. Armenia was given 12 points, thanks to the Armenian community, that was visited by the candidate one month ago…
Unfortionaly, the Belgian community in other countries is very very small..

this contest isnt even about the music anymore. Bosnia's song just got on my nerves, there was no song there was just two people acting stupid. Im Armenian, so i have heard the Armenian song like a million times, she had a nice song, but she did not perform it as well as Isreal did. i was rooting for him. His song, his voice was just phenomenal, it stood out too me and i didnt even know what he was saying. Thats what music should be about, not just a stupid show or a shirtless guy. Latvia, and those Baltic states always vote for one another because they all used to be a former country until they were divided. And yeah Russia, and Armenia will always vote for one another, thats because everything in Armenia is influenced by Russia, what do you expect. Russian is their second language. Turkey's song was nice as well, sounded a bit like system of a down though. Honestly, the Western states need to step up their game, there was no catchy chorus or anything. This is the type of contest, where you want a chorus that gets stuck in your head. As for the winner, the song wasnt too great, but this was his 2nd time entering, so i guess he deserved it. I loved spain's song because it was meant to be funny the girls looked like the wanta fanta girls. This show needs some surprise, its already gotten so predictable.

Sweden should have won with Charlotte Perrelli and her Hero, or been in the top 5… She was the best on stage and the song is soo good, but she only became number 18!!! I don't get it, there was so many that sucked and came befor her!!! And the French dude was the coolest on stage and only came in 19!!! And Greece with such a boring song came in 2nd!!! I DONT GET IT!!! The eurovision song contest has sunk so low that they can't rise from it… They should just quit!!!
So the highlight of the night was when the points from Sweden came and Björn Gustavsson made such a joke about it, sure noone else outside of Sweden will get it, but he is sooo funny!!! You should watch him on youtube, then you'll get it more… He is such a dork!!!

the song was just ok but his performance was auful (i mean look at his eyes, auful) and his monement wasn't that good…
i think that what helped him win was the ice skater Plushenko beacause he is very popular (he gained him points) and of course politics.
i'm not saying that he is a bad artist or anything but i think that this year wasn't as good as in 2006 and he behaved like a diva….

Just to clear things up England is NOT the UK. England is a very shitty part of the UK but it is not the entire country! The UK is made up of Scotland, N. Ireland, Wales and England. The UK would be better off dropping out, the votes clearly have nothing to do with performance or strength of song. Its all very political. If the UK were to drop out and stop its funding of the competition there would be no show. If I was interested in watching politics Id tune into Sky news once in a while!

The Euovision is a complete joke but that's what makes it so great. Some friends of mine stayed in on Sat night, ordered food, had a few bottles of wine and laughed our asses off. I had a pain in my stomach from laughing so much at the sheer crap and Terry Wogan's funny as hell commenating. My friends and I picked the names of the countries in a hat, picked them out and put money on them. I got Russia so woohoo for my pocket. Seriously though what the hell was that all about and the ice-skater? Too funny for words. Western Europe doesn't take it seriously at all but you have to admit it does make for entertaining viewing by ripping the piss out of the entrants…..

Eurovision isn't a song contest anymore. It's all policital. Not just coincedence that Spain and Portugal voted for each other and that Russia were getting all the votes. In fact, most of the countries in Eurovision are eatern european and used to be part of Russia. Hmm….biased?
