When Teachers Give Sell Their Students Drugs

A teacher from Sunny Hills High School in Fullerton, CA, has just been arrested.
The reason?
Turns out the professor is locked up on narcotics and weapon charges!!!!
According to police sergeant Mike MacDonald, several anonymous 911 calls were received about the shady teacher.
One caller stated that he "had purchased drugs from a person he believed to be a teacher at Sunny Hills."
Sgt. MacDonald added that the "caller also said the person, who he identified as Abbott, had a weapon in his vehicle."
The teacher in question is 31 year-old Gregory Abbott, who has taught history at Sunny Hills for the past seven years. He is also the school's track coach.
Sgt. MacDonald stated that the Police Department's High School Resource Officer then contacted Abbott in his classroom and got permission to search his vehicle.
And shockingly enough, the search turned up some prescription drugs, some marijuana packaged for sale, and an unload shotgun.
Idiot!
Abbott posted his $25,000 bail.
Let's hope they keep him away from the children.
Something needs to be done about better screening teachers!!!

i was in his history class sophomore year and that was when he was going through a divorce, because his wife had an affair.

but it does surprise me that he would do something like this.
He was one of the coolest teachers ive had, minus the arrest.
Um.. you can carry guns in your car in like almost any state in the US.. especially in them hicktowns .. granted, he had his gun technically on school campus but still, it's not like he was waving it around the classroom or the field.. and hey! if a dumbass suicidal maniac student comes on campus shooting down people, they'd wish there was a gun nearby.
And so he sold some drugs to teens… get over it. They would've gotten it from some other source and at the rate teachers are getting paid, why the hell not have a second job.
And what about all the students who bought drugs from him, like that little snitch who ratted him out, let's throw that little shit in some juvenile correctional facility.. It's like the classic situation of "Crush" starring Alicia Silverstone. The student probably got upset because Mr. Abbott wouldn't give in to their sexual demands and in a spiteful rage called the cops to turn in someone who wasn't that big of a threat to society and who probably was their only connection to obtaining drugs… good luck finding a more convenient dealer loser. What a narc.

He was my econ teacher last year!! he would always tell us to be careful with our money because he himself was struggling living on a teacher's wage. he lost custody of his kids, probably had to pay his slutty ass ex-wife after his divorce. and living in fullerton, MOST people have smoked weed at least once in their lifetime..and hes only 31 for God's sake. but for sure he would have never done anything to harm anyone. and hes fucking hot as hell..that mugshot pictiure is shit compared to how he really looks like..most gorgeous eyes EVER!!

I don't think it's a matter of screening teachers. This is an incident that is few and far between. TEACHERS NEED TO BE PAID BETTER!! Then maybe, just maybe they wouldn't have to resort to making a quick buck.

All charges have been dropped. They arrested his ex-wife's boyfriend for planting the drugs and gun and making the 911 call. I hope Perez posts a retraction and an apology!

Please post a retraction for the Gregory Abbott article about the teacher "selling drugs". Today the Fullerton, CA police department held a news conference and absolved Mr. Abbott of all charges. This was a total attempt at framing him. The most likely culprits are his estranged wife and an internet boyfriend from Maine.
Yeeahhh….I went to Sunny Hills High…they hired him my junior year, I think. I never had him for a class, but we all thought he was hot.
I am a teacher, and at least in NY we have an extensive background check (FBI and State) before we are certified to teach. This guy probably had a clean record and started selling drugs after for whatever his reasonings were.

Turns out this guy was set up - and he lives in my apartment complex. Channel 4 news was just interviewing him outside my apartment because the charges have been dropped.
A bunch of cars in our complex got broken into last weekend (my boyfriends was one of them) and all the stuff in the glove box was thrown all around. Whoever framed him was breaking into cars to figure out which one was his so they could plant the stuff.

The charges were dropped and his ex was arrested for it. I agree that it's sad that all people have to say is he's hot. The article didn't say much about the situation so it definitely implied much investigating hadn't been done yet. Sunny Hills has had it's problems and it is a pretty wealthy area; however, there are plenty of other schools in the area with much wealthier kids "who have nothing better to do with their money." Every school has it's problems, but it's not a bad school to go to, and the kids are not all wealthy kids. Teachers are underpaid considering they're shaping our countries future leaders, but some young teachers should realize that some stuff isn't appropriate to share with their students, past or present.

What happended to " Innocent until proven guilty"? My brother was in a situation where he was accused of horrific things that were NOT TRUE. Police have found Greg Abbott not guilty of chargers. His wife set him up. They are going through a divorce and his wife wanted to move out of state with her boyfriend and their child. The genius thought that if he was in jail he couldn't fight her on this. Jokes on her because now hopefully she'll be in jail
