As a Canucks fan I am so sad about Luc's tragic death. His poor family! Word to the wise: don't fuck with motorcycles! They aren't toys! He had only owned his bike for a few days … what a waste of a young life full of potential.

Sad! I'm originally from New Brunswick and accidents happen. But the laws are no different than anywhere else - helmets are required and I'm sure he wasn't stupid enough not to wear one. Motorcycles are no more dangerous if driven properly than any other vehicle. I wish his family well.

I live in shippagan so I know what happens and he was wearing a helmet it was rainng so he loose the control of his motorcycle…

Re: Alexis – Actually in Canada it is against the law to ride a mototcycle without a helmet. So I bet he was wearing a helmet.

Re: maybe – couldn't disagree with you more. A close family friend passed away after a collsion with a tractor trailer. They were driving a 2007 Ford F-150 and speed wasn't a factor the police stated. Obviously a motorcycle is more dangerous though, I wasn't try to say that they aren't. I was just stating that accidents do happen and when they are unfortuante enought to include a tractor trailer the outcome is usually more tragic, sadly. I'm sorry if the last comment didn't come across as well. Regards.

    116

Wow, I did not expect to see this on Perez.. but I want to thank you Perez for bringing this to the attention of all the readers of your website. Luc is someone who needs to be celebrated. Such a GREAT talent, he was destined for big things. No one can even begin to describe how much of a great person Luc was.

Today is a day of mourning for hockey fans all over the world.

Luc played for a team that I would regularly watch, the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, before he went pro in the AHL. He was a fan favorite everywhere he went. Everytime he skated on the ice the rink would be filled with the chants of "LUUUUUUUUUUUUUUC!" from each and every fan in attendance. I'll never forget the smile that would bring to his face.

At the young age of 21 Luc accomplished more than many of us could ever think of.. and we will always be very proud of him.

I've read some of the posts and see how the comments on here are turning into a battle about how dangerous/unsafe motorcycles are.. please do not let his over shadow Luc's memory. Lets remember him for who he was when he was with us.

    RIP Luc Bourdon
    You will be greatly missed.

Luc was one of the most kind hearted people I have ever met in my life. I have so many stories of what a generous, thoghtful individual he was. From someone who actually knows him, and has spent time with him and had him play hockey in my very own city in his junior career, it is a great loss to our community, our province, and the hockey world in general. for the individual who said he probably wasnt wearing a helmet, how dare you disrespect him like that. you didnt know him and you werent there. Rest In Peace Luc. you will be missed by all who's lives you have touched, including mine

Another tragedy on our horrible highways. In little less than a year around here we have lost 4 young men, then another 4 boys, then another couple of young men, then on January 12, about half hour away from Luc Bourdon's accident, 7 members of the local basketball team (BHS- Boys in Red) plus their teacher were killed. Now a young hockey player….

Too many harsh reminders of how short life is, no matter who you are. May he Rest in Peace.
