Being a big Canucks fan, I followed Luc's career, and this phenomenal young athelete was going to be a great player. Such a tragedy, and a loss to the team and his family.

"Stupid loss"? Extremely stupid comment, more like. He crashed head-on into a semi truck; he would've died had he been wrapped up in a mattress.

Ok, all you fucktards, BEFORE you run your cock-sucker, here are some facts, buses have around 24 times more accidents than motorcycles, cars have around 12 times more accidents than motorcycles, trucks slightly less than cars, etc. The fatality figures per accident are Motorcycles 1%, Cars 2%, Trucks 2%, Buses 3% and Jeepneys 3%. ***R.I.P

    216

I heard that his sister had to confirm his death. That must have been very difficult. This is very sad. RIP. Alexis: that was very ignorant of you to assume he wasn't wearing helmet.

  17. San says – reply to this

    217

Bourdon was the kind of player that puts in his all in every opportunity, and slowly but surely builds his fundamentals so that before anyone knows it, he has become a household name. It's too bad that he didn't have the chance to see his veteran-like calmness and serenity pay off for himself and the Canucks. He truly understood the role of a defender within the game of hockey, and that kind of understanding would be key in allowing him to grow beyond the defender role and into a well rounded player. Gone at 21, he takes with him a massive amount of potential never materialized.

My goodbye to Luc will be in my broken French, as an homage to this great Francophone player.

Repose bien, mon ami. Au revoir.

Please do not give everybody false assurance that it is safe being on a motorcycle because it is not. The reason for the statictics you quoted was because there are much fewer bikes on the road then vehicles. I hear of at least 2 men dying on bikes every weekend. Its not like it use to be. the traffic everywhere has increased horrendously and it is now very unsafe to be on any kind of a cycle. I do not see it getting anything but worse. It does not matter how careful they are.

As a major hockey fan, I was expecting this upcoming season to be Luc's big chance. Just a horrible tragedy, and like others said I was surprised to see this on your site, but very happy as hockey tends to get brushed aside by the American media. ockey players are quite possibly the most approachable, giving athletes in the world, and from myself and the rest of the Leaf Nation we send our deepest condolences to the Canucks organization and the Bourdon family.

So very sad. People get into accidents with motorcycles because of stupidity, either their own or the other driver. I am actually from Shippagan NB and I can tell you for a small town it hits everybody pretty hard. And for everyone making nasty comments ….all I can say is WoWW…such class!! And for everyone who thinks they know something, he was actually trying his new bike that he just bought…his girlfriend was following him behind when he caught some serious wind and the bike started jiggling only to loose control and hit a transport truck. It was not a pretty site with his girlfriend seeing absolutely everything. I can't imagine how that feels and how much it must hurt…
All my prayers are with his family and may you RIP

Even if he was wearing a helmet, he would still have passed away. He hit it head on, there was nothing left of his bike and it looks like he finally rested under the back wheels.
It looked like a turn on a highway and I bet the bike stood up on him and he crossed lanes. More motorcycle training is necessary before handing out bike licenses.
So sad, he had his whole life in front of him.
