Sad sad news.
Hockey player Luc Bourdon was killed Thursday afternoon when his motorcycle struck a tractor-trailer in northern New Brunswick, Canada.
Bourdon played for the Vancouver Canucks and was the first round draft pick for the team.
He was only 21-years old.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

Uh, Alexis, it has been against the law to ride a motorcycle in Canada without a helmet for YEARS (if not decades) now. Motorcyclists here wouldn't even think of getting on a bike without one unless they want to get pulled over ASAP by the first passing cop they see.
Tom Cochrane wrote a song twenty years ago called "Big League" about a young hockey player who finally makes it out of his "cold northern town" and then gets killed in a car crash. The song was based on a true story and sadly, is all the more relevant now. RIP.
I dont know anything about ice hockey but just reading that, saddens me to know he was so so young, he hadn't even lived!!! I am against motorcycles, they're dangerous and they take to many lives.
Poor man….far to young.
Alexis - you would have a completely different outlook and comment if it were someone you knew on that motorcycle….helmet or not. a tractor trailer is a big vehicle, if you get hit by one, chances are, you're going to die. have a little respect for other people. just because you think motorcycles are dumb, doesn't make you better than Luc or anyone else who likes to ride them. your heart goes out to the family….for their stupid loss, right? fuck, you're ignorant.
Re: Alexis – dumb cunt you are. ignorant dumb cunt.
Very Sad. 21 is wayyyy to young to die.
Re: crazy –
because some people who read perez hilton watch hockey! its kinda a big deal. and many knew who he was, iv know who is was since he was 18.
Re: ? –
yeah i know…sorry for my mistake
RIP Luc.
my heart goes out to friends and family.
In both side of the country, in Vancouver B.C. and Shippagan N.B., Luc as suddently been removed from our lives. My taughs are with is girlfriend who whitness the accident from her car driving behind Luc. To the imediate Boucher and Bourdon familys, and to my friends from shippagan N.B. we will never forget you in our prayers.
repose en paix luc, on toublira jamais xxx
I still can't believe this, it's so sad. Luc was becoming such a vital player on the canucks. I just saw him in tampa at the end of january and was so excited for his goal. He will definitely be missed. Rip Luc ♥
RIP LUC.
He was an amazing hockey player for both team Canada and the Canucks, lost too young! My thoughts and prayers are with the Bourdon family, and friends of Luc.
Perez!!! I'm so glad you're into the hockey scene!
Thoughts are with his family and teammates. He was a good player and supposedly a great person off ice too. So horrible at such a young age.
i'm so sorry to hear this. hockey's lost a great soul.
and fuck all you assholes that are making light of this. i hope you all die a miserable death.
Re: emily – No, I'll fuck you emily and kill you after too! kill two birds with one stone! good riddance on you AND that stupid motorcycle loser!
He was amazing.
Canada will miss him.
Re: G – "Stupid motorcycle loser"? I think the real loser is you, disrespecting a young and talented man who just passed away. At least when he was alive, he impressed the hearts of many people and makes more money than you will at 21. Get a fuckin' life dude. Anyway, R.I.P. Luc…this is absolutely heartbreaking. Way too young to die.
i heard about this at school and i seriously thought my friend was joking. i was crying so hard and honestly i'm still in shock. its hard to believe that just barely a month or so ago i was still watching him on TV. seeing all these reports on TV and on here make me all the more depressed.
but imagine me; a fan who's met him like 2 times and is a total stranger being this crushed. I cant imagine what his family must be going through. my thoughts and prayers are with them.
all i can say is that its been a tough 2 days for Vancouver and the pain hasnt gone away
RIP Luc..you will be sadly missed by many..moncton will always remember you..
So sad. Luc is was always amazing to watch you play ever game, to bad with all the injuries this year, not being able to play to your fullest. \but you did every night you did play. A young jovo you were call. You will be missed by everyone that knew you watched you and loved you. Till later Luc RIP
(His girlfriend was following him in her car and watched the whole thing. on the 9km highway he was riding on 99 out of 100 times no one else is on it, and there are only two curves. He hit the one curve, with one gust of wind that pushed in into the other lane, with that 1 truck on it. So sad, such an amazing person to lose
RIP, You will be missed.
Iam a HUGE canucks fan, & i was sure he was gloing to have a great
season next year.
:(
it's so sad. i live in vancouver, and us canucks will miss you, luc!
To the people who were commenting on the helmet thing, the photos of the crash were horrific. They were all over the news here in Canada. He had an accident with a tractor-trailor; no one on a motorcycle would survive that even if they were wearing head to do body armour. His bike was torn to shreds. It's against the law to not wear a helmet where he was riding as well, so you're basically a complete idiot and shouldn't have even brought that up.
Have some respect for the loss, don't make everything the deceased's fault.
And maybe read about the accident before you make a judgement call.
RIP.
Re: Alexis –
Hi Alexix,
I'm live near where the accident happened….and the community and the people are in shock. He was a great guy.
I just want to clarify with you something.
He WAS wearing a helmet. The ivestigation by the police showed that a gust of wind blew him right in front of an incoming trackter trailer. NOT BECAUSE OF STUPIDITY!!!!..
Just to clarify …
I was shocked when i heard the news.I'm a Canucks fan and had the chance to meet him and see him play, he was a great player and a very nice guy!All my thoughts go out to his family and friends. We will miss you Luc. R.I.P.:(
This is so tragic. Luc played in my hometown (Miramichi, New Bruncwick) for a few years and i got quite familiar with him. Rest in peace buddy, you were great.
Kudos to you Perez for posting this.
im from vancouver….love the team…love all the players and i have no words….LOVE YOU LUC!
RIP LUC BOURDON!
I am from Shippagan same village as luc , This is how popular he was, beeing on perez hilton! You made it luc, a real star… but so sad…. you will be missed everyone from shippagan and over the world . He was the first to be picked… I remember at school he was in hockey since he was really young and already people were talking about his talent
what is wrong with some of you people?
RIP Luc
I am from New Brunswick ,Canada and to let you know helmets are mandatory in Canada and Luc was wearing his.He passed a big rig and collided head on into another rig in a turn but he was not not speeding.it was a windy day and had his licence and bike for only a couple weeks.Police say inexperience might have been a factor.truck driver not at fault.it was also a two lane highway .Girlfriend following him in car witnessed everything.Yes it is very sad.RIP Luc !!
Yeah, I live in Vancouver, but I never watch(ed) or have liked hockey, but this is rlly sad.
I have a friend who likes hockey, and she said she couldn't stop crying.
Sad sad sad.
