It is unlikely that taxpayers paid for these escorts. Off-duty police may be hired privately to provide security to citizens. It's the only way they make any real money, since we taxpayers don't actually pay them that well!

good lord you people. think before you post. it could be that since your tax dollars don't pay 'public servants' much, many police 'moonlight' with other jobs. their pay doesn't come from the police department. it actually benefits the police department, because they don't have on-duty police wasting their time babysitting paparazzi and celebs. The on-duty police can respond to all your 911 calls, while the off-duty moonlighting cops can get paid a second income watching out for the celebs.
FURTHER - the cops look like they are entering the building on an unrelated call, and TomKat just happen to be exiting….
