Brittany Murphy's career is in a downward spiral!
The once promising young actress has not starred in a hit film since 2005's Sin City, a movie in which she was just a featured player.
Murphy has never been the lead in a box office success, and these days, industry insiders comment more on her erratic behavior and crazy husband than her career (or lack of one).
Adding insult to injury, Disney has just axed Brittany from their deal with her!
Back in 2006, the Mouse House announced that Murphy would be their new voice of Tinkerbell. They planned to use her for work on new Tink DVDs and much more.
Well, this past week, Disney revealed that Brittany was out and there would be a new voice for Tinkerbell, actress Mae Whitman.
No explanation was given for Murphy's "departure" - but, really, we don't need one!

Here's what I don't get - TINKERBELL DOESN'T TALK!!
She is absolutely adorable and her early work (Clueless, Drop Dead Gorgeous) was HILARIOUS. She just needs to find more good scripts…and just because she hasn't been in any 'major hits' lately, she's still working. And even if she isn't working right now, I'm sure she's made enough in the past to support herself and enjoy her success up to this point. Being an actor isn't about serving up one blockbuster after another…
seriously Perez…why are you being such an asshole today???? you know how successful she has been "behind the scenes"…did you have a fight with your boyfriend or something??? you are well on the way to losing some previously dedicated readers of your site…you really are a dickhead today!

whatever, I really like Britney. She plays great eccentric characters. I loved her as that slut in 8 mile and I thought she was better than dumbass Angelina in Girl Interrupted. She'll be fine. Fuck Disney anyway.

I like Britney Murphy, but I can see how her voice might be wrong for Tink.. it's a little too scratchy. But, I looooove her outfit in this pic!!
She was fired AGES ago, by the way. From sources on the movie, she was canned because she was a total diva and a PAIN IN THE ASS. And you might also remember that Brit was in HAPPY FEET which beat out CARS a few years ago for the Best Animated Feature Oscar….and Lasseter is now head of Disney Animation…not that that would have had ANYTHING to do with it…..yeah right….
It's time for her and Ashlee to team up and share the bill with a cup.

Why do you get off on other people's problems? You wrote this with such glee, I really wonder what you are made of. Brittany Murphy is absolutely harmless - way to kick someone while they are down. But then again, that is all you do.

dude she IS the voice of Luann on King Of The Hill. I love her!
Oh yeah, and she can sing, she has said she has done vocals in quite a few songs for rappers and stuff, but she does it under a different name, also she did the song with Paul Oakenfold in 2006, that song was number one on billboard magazines charts!
perez… she was gloria in happy feet and she has a main role on King of the hill she also has three movies coming out soon! give her a break!
What about being the lead in Little Black Book? (And she wasn't the lead in 8 Mile, she was Em's co-star) She still voices LuAnn on King of the Hill, so you can't really call it a downward spiral. She still works, just not as visably

sad. SO very sad. I always knew the trampy little blonde would never make it. Well she got a few grand, or million from those small movies she TRYED to act in.. At least she has somewhat good looks to keep her going before she can move back in her parents house and get welfare benefits.

She's been the voice of Lou Anne for many years on "King of the Hill". I would not call that a "downward spiral." How does Anne Hathaway get so many roles and others like Brittany do not?? I'll never be able to figure that out.. No offense, Anne. I think Brittany is a good actress; just hasn't been offered enough roles.

First of all, she is the bomb, unlike the unimaginative skeezes on SATC you keep obsessing about. Brittany gives to charities and so what if this is one bump in the road. Disney sucks anyway. They're difficult to work with.
She had a big role in "Happy Feet" and she sang beautifully.
I love her singing voice so if she just wants to do music I would buy it. She is pretty too. Just her choice of hubby is questionable.
Mae Whitman plays the voice of Katara on Nickelodeon's "Avatar: The Last Airbender". She's amazing, I love her!
I am very upset now. Actually I am furious. Tinkerbell is a great cartoon character and it should be done by someone more famous then brit murphy. I am happy they chose someone else. Tinkerbell doesnt sound like a horse.
