Something To Think About

While many of us in America prepare to celebrate Gay Pride this coming weekend and throughout the month of June….

Many of us take such a public act for granted!

However, this past weekend a small group of brave Russian men and women defied a ban in Moscow and held their Gay Pride parade.

They were far outnumbered, however, by those opposing their public display of pride.

Russian Orthodox and far-right opponents hurled eggs at gay activists and, in one instance, were seen punching a gay man to the ground and some elderly ladies were holding an anti-gay vigil on the pavement, dressed in headscarves and holding icons of Orthodox saints.

Sunday's event was timed to mark the May 27th anniversary of a 1993 change in the law that decriminalized homosexuality in Russia.

Don't take your ability to show your pride this weekend for granted.

And, thankfully, in California, we can now celebrate the right to marry!

We are lucky to live in a state that sees all residents equal under the law.

    Re: Norm2
I know exactly who I am… Lots of gay guys date women before they decide to come out. I was young and after I found out what a tramp my girlfriend was, I decided to live my life and be who I really was. Many gays live their life in the closet because of ignorant asses like you that think your way is the only way. I'm not the one that needs to come out of the closet… its the hetro's that cheat on their wives and suck dick on the side and then talk shit about the gays to hide their insecurities about who they really are! Are you one of those guys Norm2?

Not all gays think marriage is all that. I never said I would hop up and get married if I could. Ive been with my partner for many years. What about you? How many divorces or one night stands you had Norm?…… That's what I thought.

Your just pissed off cause I can prove and am living proof that a gay person can win in a court of law, raise a child and he NOT be gay because he was raised by gays and probably live a way better life and happier one than you.

why can't you queers butt fu*K each other in the privacy of your own homes, behind closed doors and shut the fu*k up? You want equal rights, but you are not equal, you are genetically off. If you want to be gay, be gay, but don't try to shove it down my throat. Every court in America can legalize gay marriage and the majority of the population will not recognize it, so what does it matter? If you are happy together, just shut the fu*k up and be happy.

Whoa my Gayken Batman………these gays are breeding like rabbits too. They fu*k they're fat ugly lady friends who cannot get fu*ked any other way and have their kids. It's a reproducing fu*k that's all. But then there are those like Gayken who probably took a turkey baster and had her self baste with his dna.

So do like homosexuals stick it in each other's asses or is their always one that gives it and one that takes it? Or can they both take it in the ass?

Same for women? Who eats the puss and who gets eaten or do they just both eat each other?

Just wondering since I'm not gay.

I can agree and disagree with some of the comments from straight people and gay people. 1) I am gay and don't feel the need to publicly display it with rainbow stickers and flags. I am proud of who I am but have always wondered why we have to publicly parade around to be who we are. 2) Not all gay men act the same. Straight people do see all the glorified, flamboyant, sissified images of gays on TV shows, etc and assume everyone is like that. Not all gay men act like sissys and whore around. It's not fair, but I can see how easily we are all grouped into one category because of the images the public feeds us. 3) Gay marriage - I could care less what it is called… civil union, domestic partnership, marriage - who really cares. Hell I probably wouldn't get married if I could. If you save and plan your future right who needs marriage anyway. The gay subject is just something we will never get everyone to agree on - I say just live your life how you want. We as humans all deserve the chance to live a happy life. Some may choose religion as their guidance, others may not. Some may choose to be straight or gay, who cares. That is what is so great about America - we all have the freedom to be who we are, and we all have freedom of speech. Would you want it any other way? Would you want to live in a country that dictates what and when you do things, how you live, how many kids you can have, etc? Life's too short to worry about if your neighbor is banging a guy or a girl.

  7. 107

I can't wait for heterosexual pride week and month…..

Where is our flag. Wait, no one cares who I schlep.

    *hint* *hint*

BTW if you were born gay, what is there to be proud of? You did nothing to be proud of nor accomplish any goal.

I never understood that. Why be proud of something you had nothing to do with.

  8. Dan says – reply to this

    108

Gays are not natural, against nature and God. They should not have the same rights as everyone else who follows nature and God. When are we going to stop bending to the will of the minorities. The gays won't stop until they strip society of all it's morals.

You should not be proud to be gay…you should be ashamed and seek help for your problem/disorder/disease…whatever you want to call it.

  9. 109

    [re=2300608]Re: Dan
as someone that has actually READ the Bible and understood it, you sire have NO CLUE what's in it. You are using it to project your own selfish hatred. And will be judged even harsher for doing so according to your own religion. Congrats

do gays do each other or is there a male & female and one gives and one gets? like catcher/pitcher? Same for lesbos — or do they just do each other not caring who gives/gets?

    just wondering.

    112

Why should we feel "lucky" as Perez says to have basic civil rights? I think we should be appreciative of activists like those in Russia who understand that it's not about "luck", but about standing up for basic human rights.

And in repsonse to 1234 (#15), I'm sure your grandparents probably said the same thing about interracial marriage and their parents probably the same thing about a woman's right to vote.

    Re: johny

I agree with you! Maybe not in such CRASS terminology, but it is absolutely true! Who really gives a fuck what you want to do in the bedroom??? No matter how hard gays try to "sell" their way of life, it will never be fully accepted, just like segregation. You still hear about those ignorant souls out there that just don't feel blacks and whites should blend, per say!

To you people saying that having a parade etc to celebrate is stupid, I hope you also think having all your other stupid parades for things like sport are stupid.
And no it's about "getting high and fucked". Me and my boyfriend go there and simply bask in the freedom and look at whats still to come.

Just hateful and Perez you are just as bad, if not worse, than the egg and punch throwers. Look at some of the post from today about John thinking of "butt fucking" and "beef curtains" being the name of the new scent of QL. WTF? YOU SHOULD BE EGGED…EVERYTHING JOHN MAYER SAYS ABOUT YOU IS TRUE.

  18. Char says – reply to this

    118

Perez you have to help organize this: People from all over the world going to next years Moscow pride parade and marching with our Russian Brothers and Sisters. Lets see them try to throw eggs at a hundred thousand marchers. I don't think Russia has that many chickens.
Put out the call to everyone who supports human rights. If 50,000 people can gather in Seattle to protest the wto then you can get at least 100,000 to show up in Moscow.
If we have the good luck to live in a place where equality is law then we should be helping the people who aren't being granted that right.

  20. Keep T says – reply to this

    120

One sin is not really greater than the other. Well, sometimes it is. Gays are not bad people, but under all religions that worship thee God, it's a sin sad to say. Like I have a slutty version of myself that would be a sin in God's eyesight, but I don't practice it. I'm not perfect and no one is. I like a gay person as a person, but it doesn't make their lifestyle right in the eyes of religion. So you can't be expecting to break religious walls to have religions except your lifestyle. You just can't because it's an oxymoron. Why everyone was so against gays getting married because marriage was a religious ceremony to be taken serious in God's eyes, but since straight people don't even take it seriously half the time, gays can't be denied the right to marry I suppose. Still, none are right. I think what makes people afraid for gays to have the right to marry is that God destroyed two cities with FIRE for this type of sexuality and every other multiple sex acts. Indeed. I have this to say to straight and gay people. If you read the Bible and whether you believe in it or not….it does mention America. It says that the great whore that stands on many waters will fall and everyone will look at it from afar saying "My God My God the great city has fallen." Do you think it could very well mean the Statue of Liberty? Hmm?

  21. Keep T says – reply to this

    121

Let me clarify a few things in the last two sentences from my previous comment. It says that the woman sits on many waters holding the cup in her hand with the words Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth. People will look at it from afar saying, 'My God My God the great Babylon, that might city has fallen.' The merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her for no man buyeth their merchandise anymore. Do you think it could very well mean America? We are the modern day Babylon and not to mention, we do have the Statue of Liberty sitting on many waters with a cup that has fire in it.

This is in Revelation from Chapter 17 through Chapter 18.
Anyways, haven't turned this religious in a long long time, but perhaps people need to wake up and not just because of gay issues.

Re: chelit – Hey Douche, it's more than the "right wing" that doesn't want gay marriage in California rammed up our ass. If you checked out the voting stats, 62% of the people said "no" to Gay Marriage in Proposition 22 a few years ago. Do you think 62% of the voters in California are Republicans, conservatives or right wing? Think again douche! I wish the numbers were that high. Unfortunately, the flood of Mexicans into California over the past two decades changed the voting block from conservative to liberal.

YES - EVEN MENTALLY ILL PEOPLE SHOULD BE ALLOWED TO MARRY EACH OTHER……
    :)-
Those with deep-seated homosexual tendencies are usually unwilling to examine the emotional conflicts that "caused" this tendency. Most of these men had painful adolescent experiences of significant loneliness and sadness, felt insecure in their masculinity, and had a poor body image. There is a much higher prevalence of psychiatric illness in those who identify themselves as homosexuals. Unfortunately, their denial, defensiveness and anger block their openness to seek help with their emotional and behavioral weaknesses. Male effeminacy is a clear sign of serious affective immaturity, usually where they failed in their childhood to identify sufficiently with their fathers and other male peers.

Russia, is just doing the right thing, homosexual people are sick.. that's a illness, that's something which is against the nature, and what we people represent! this gay pride festival thing, is just a thing that sees as a modern thing, if you're gay, than your "inn" … but its more like, if your gay then your probably sick, or not probably.. you are sick!

for number comment 25: I'll let religion "hold me back" on these worldly things forever. I live this life to prepare for heaven. Maybe if you took a second to think about the legitimacy of religion, you would do the same.

  34. 134

Re: hughmi And in repsonse to 1234 (#15), I'm sure your grandparents probably said the same thing about interracial marriage and their parents probably the same thing about a woman's right to vote.

PSST those and gay marriage are only similar in that they are about human rights. That's as bought as close as they get. Why people keep dishonestly comparing these things to get a "SHOCK VALUE" sentiment when most people are smarter than this.

  35. 135

Re: JerryL You know..homosexuality used to be considered a mental disorder just like schizophrenia and bipolar disorder..hmmmm

And they have no scientific reason they took it off either. It was done by a few psychologists for politically correct reasons.

The IRONIC part about that is, a doctor from that small group now things homosexuality isn't permanent.

(May 9, 2001)…The psychiatrist who led the team that deleted homosexuality from the diagnostic manual in 1973, now says homosexuality may sometimes be changeable.

Like most psychiatrists," says Dr. Spitzer, "I thought that homosexual behavior could be resisted–but that no one could really change their sexual orientation. I now believe that's untrue–some people can and do change

Dr. Spitzer agreed that this study should not be used to justify coercion. Nor should it be used as an argument for the denial of civil rights. "But patients should have the right," Spitzer stated, "to explore their heterosexual potential."

BTW I agree with the last statement. No one should be FORCED to become heterosexuals. But for those homosexuals that don't feel comfortable being one, this is good news!

  36. 136

BTW watch the flamers flame me for what I just posted above.

    *rolleyes*

It just goes to show, some people don't care what is factual and what is not. They just care what THEY want to be true.
