OK! and People are supposedly the only two mags in the running for the pricey opportunity to snap the world's most anticipated twinsies.

We assume the money money money will go to a charity.
This is all about ego.
Paying that much for celebrity photos is not good business. Each mag just doesn't want their competitor to get the exclusive!

Well, the babies are going be photograped anyway, even if they don't wan't to. Why not get money for charity? This is why they don't like to tke Shiloh out, because the press gets crazier when he's with them then the other kids, racism I guess. The public has generated this madness, not them.l
it's good for charity - if that's something that can raise that much additional cash for humanitarian efforts that are horribly underfunded, then great!
we need more people who give us a sense that all of us can understand these basic human issues, and how important it is to constantly to be helping at any level you can.

Perez - I'm from a small town in Western MA. I'm sure this post will no where, but I know that a lot of people read the blurbs on your site, so maybe someone somewhere will read this and give a damn. The fact that People and OK! magazines have $15+ million dollars to spend on something as simple as pictures of two children that will eventually be seen in the press, for free, is disgusting. I'm seeing regular people currently struggling to make the decision to purchase gas (at $4.05 a gallon here) to get to work, to get a paycheck, to pay their bills OR be able to buy nutritious food for their families to consume. This winter, people that have never had to worry about how they were going to pay for heating fuel are going to be struggling to pay that bill ON TOP OF gas and food. These are serious issues. Couldnt that money be better spent to help our country than to give to two celebs to hand over to, granted, a good cause, but come on. They have tons of money as is that already goes to various charities. This country seriously has some issues.
They named the first one Shiloh. What will they name the twins, Gettysburgh and Bull Run? Robert and Ulysses? Grant and Lee?

I agree with #115 Beth. There is something very wrong with the economy when People magazine has 15mil to pay out for photos that will be on their website as well as many other websites for free.
