Hillary NOT Conceding???

Filed under: Barack Obama > Hillary Clinton

hil__opt.jpg

This is a big mistake and just embarrassing now on her part!

We are VERY disappointed in Hillary today.

Clinton's campaign chairman, Terry McAuliffe, is denying a report from the Associated Press this morning, which said that the former first lady would concede defeat this evening to Barack Obama.

Media reports saying she was ready to concede was "100 percent incorrect," McAuliffe vowed.

Hillary said she was "absolutely" not prepared to admit Obama has beaten her in the race.

She's delusional!

We are losing a lot of respect for both Clintons these days.

Sad. Sad. Sad.

I don't get it. There all these campaigns running the "rock the vote" propaganda, and people go out and vote, and then choose one candidate, but that candidate ends up not winning because the super delegates decided that someone else is the right candidate? Then what's the point for people to go out and vote, if the candidate they vote does not get elected.

Kerry got chosen by the people, and Bush stole the presidency because of the super delegates.

Gore won by a landslide, and Bush stole the presidency because of the super delegates.

The people have chosen Hillary, and some "chosen" delegates are deciding that Obama is the right candidate?

I refuse to vote for a man who has not made ONE clear statement about what that "Change" he so much chants is about. By the way, that whole "change' and "yes, we can" crap he plagiarized from that Mexican leader Cesar Chavez, just like he plagiarized all his other speeches.

We knew two months ago that she would never catch up in pledge delegates.
And it became clear soon after that she wouldn't be able to make up for it with superdelegates.
Of course she can stay in the race, but for what purpose exactly? In such an important election don't you want as much time as possible to prepare instead of being gentle to the bruised ego of one person?

Uh, Perez. MORE PEOPLE HAVE VOTED FOR HER THAN ANY OTHER CANDIDATE IN THE HISTORY OF PRIMARY SEASON…. EVER!! if she did concede she would be letting down more Americans than if McCain or Obama stepped out of the race. She still has a very good chance.

We are talking about the lives of people. lets not forget. i met many people that have lost their jobs and are living paycheck to paycheck. i have met mothers taht cant sleep becuase their son or daughter are fighting in Irak, i have met kids taht havent seen their parent in months because they were deported, i have met pregnant women that dont have the healthcare they baddly need even though they work 70hrs a week, lets not forget that politics affects people individually/ I have yet to hear Obama speak directly and specifically on these issues. its not about having a superstar president, its about having someone that will listen and that has the experience to solve the problems of our family, our neighbors, friends, coworkers. Fight on Hillary….and perez when you support a candidate its a very personal decision……and right now im not willing to jump on the band wagon for the "good of the party" no im making my decision for the "good of the people"

The Clinton's are old school politics and America is WAYYYYYY tired of that approach to government and living. America will be faced with many and new problems in the (near) future: the need to transform our economy from an industrial one to a superior technological one, the need to change from a fossil fuel based model to a more renewable fuel source model, the need to put the American people first instead of our elected officials and their lobbyist friends. Clinton's rhetoric and way of campaigning in the past few months have left a bitter taste in my mouth and a realization that I can not support her as a Presidential candidate now as I thought I could have months ago. She burned my bridge and now it is time for her to go. Period. Buh-Bye. No thanks, we don't want to know what you think. Period.

This is from May 2007… how many headlines have your posted about this Perez?

President Bush asked Congress today to double the amount the United States spends to fight “this modern-day plague” of AIDS in developing countries. He proposed spending $30 billion over a five-year period beginning in September 2008.

He has given more money than any other leader to fight this battle. Like him or not, this is our country and we will be much better all the way around we start to publish more about good deeds done than bad.

Hillary has more popular votes than Obama. She should NOT concede, no matter what happens in the primaries today. If half her votes can be taken away in two states, why should she follow their rules? She didn't ask Florida and Michigan to move up their elections. She didn't ask for Obama's name not to be on the ballot, that was his campaigns mistake. There should be a REVOTE in those states. Democrats will LOSE to Republicans if Hillary is not the frontrunner here. McCain has tons of experience, and was a prisoner of war for 5 years, which will definitely trump any of Obama's whiny complaints of racism. I'd rather be black than a prisoner of war for 5 years.

First time posting on this blog…why would Hillary concede until the primary is over???That's essentially telling the voters in Montana and South Dakota to stay home! What's the rush..she can most defintely concede tonight or tomorrow. If you really are for an Obama/Clinton ticket you would realize the more votes for Hillary gives her additinal leverage for the VP prospect. Stick to celebreties Perez…

    150

I wonder how the other candidates who were on the ballot feel. Four candidates took their names of the ballot in Michigan with a written and signed affidavit. Those candidates have dropped out of the Democratic race. Barack Obama was not the only candidate and is not "entitled to those undecided votes." Why should he get the undecided votes? This is a miscarriage of justice and goes against the cornerstone of democracy. We are not living in a monarchy or autocratic system of government. The DNC Rules Committee seems to think so. Hillary needs to restore Democracy and do so at the National Convention in Denver.
I will continue to support Hillary’s campaign financially and will continue to support Hillary Democrats. If Hillary is not the nominee in November, I will be voting for John McCain and supporting him financially.

The DNC called this nomination months ago also, despite the fact that Hillary continues to win big (and is also winning the popular vote). Your Democratic Party ain't so democratic. The Obama Travesty is the biggest embarrassment to hit the Democratic Party since the Lewinsky scandal. Not that long ago you were putting support behind Hillary, and now you are going out of your way to bash her. Obama can't offer her VP if she won't let go of Commander in Chief. She needs to move on and help this country again. Spending money she does not have just to stand up at a podium somewhere is just getting old. She's stuck in campaign mode, and the campaign is over.

The Clinton campaign does not want to look like she is conceding because then less people will vote for her in the next two primaries. She wants the strongest showing possible for leverage when she negotiates for the vice presidency with Obama. I've read this in a couple of blogs and news articles and I think either of those options are very likely.

It was Obama's campaign that put this news out. He is going to lose in South Dakota and she will come very close to beating him in Montana. The Obama camp is afraid of how this will look so they said she was quitting to suppress votes. Obama is a pig who does not deserve to be President!

Jake - yeah, Hillary is her own woman allright. Working behind the scenes to cover up Lewinsky, stealing confidential records that were miraculously "found" in her office, fraudulently firing everyone in the travel office so she could put her own people in, holding seceret meetings on health care which no one elected her to do and which failed miserably, pushed Bill to pardon terrorists so she could get FALN votes in her NY senate race… need I go on? She may be her own woman, but that woman is just as conniving, corrupt and deceitful as her husband. But she can apparently dodge sniper fire quite well.

Why should she. She is a woman that has come this close. Funny how CNN likes to take jabs at her being a WOMAN but heaven forbid they make a joke about halfie Obama…who is supposedly BLACK. Democrat that will vote Republican should Hilary bow out:(

I voted for her in our state's primaries and boy am I sorry I did. The saddest part is that she has set back women's chances of achieving and maintaing elected official positions by decades by behaving this way. People are going to be scared to even let us on the playing field for fear of over-zealous feminist backlashing. Her supporters at last week's convention were menopausal looney-bins!!! If this is how she and they are reacting now, when by every logical, rule-abiding method clearly shows she's lost, what the hell would they do if she made it into office and wasn't able to pass a bill they were gung-ho about or some other piece of legislation??????? Her campaign and die hard feminist supporters are only proving that a woman doesn't have the rational stamina to be leaders. This is so untrue, but the damage has been done, because the perception is now there. And what the hell would other leaders around the globe think of her as a US President now??!! All they'd have to do is push a button or two that mentions something about a woman stereotype, and thes crazy bitches would be ready to go to war over something as trivial as not pulling (or pulling) out her fucking chair at a UN or G8 Summit meeting!!! Deranged bitches- go burn all your fucking bras and smoke a joint!!

Obama is a trojan horse…..racist, empty promises, wants to get rid of US military weapons……WAKE UP AMERICA!!!

You know Perez, I like your site alot but I have to say when it comes to politics right now just don't speak please. I am so tired of hearing people call for Hillary to drop out. People act like this thing is a landslide for Nobama and its so obviously NOT. Like many have said here already she has won more votes then any other candidate in a primary period. The thing is split down the middle so let it play out. I am so so so sick of hearing about the F***ing party falling apart and we have to unite. Bullsh*T! Let it play out until the end. She deserves that right and our respect for this process. It is disgusting how the media has manipulated this. Stick to gossip please.

Why should Hillary be thinking about conceding? Barack Obama does not have the delegates yet. Plus, she has the popular vote. I wish all you people would leave her alone. I am sick and tired of you bloggers and media putting her down. Do you your research and you will see she is the best canidate for president. I WILL NOT vote for Barack Obama if he were the last person standing. He is not right for this Country. His wife does not deserve the right to be our first lady. I just wish people would think and look at facts before voting…

Re: Joan – UGHHHH you people and your Hillary mathematics, watch the news, she does NOT have the popular vote the ONLY way she can say she does have the popular vote is by not counting 5 states that hold caucuses rather than primaries and with her screaming about Michigan and Florida how can she not count those states. She does NOT I repeat does NOT have the POPULAR VOTE

I am ashamed that you called yourself a Clinton supporter. If you think they should dropout thats not support. I give her props for NOT giving up. Thats bullshit to even think of dropping out. She has fucking BALLS for staying in.

After all the message we should be sending to everyone is to never give up. See it to the end. You never know what can happen if you don't take it to the finish line.

I normally really like having to hear what you say but you can really be a hypocrite.

Perez… Because more people voted for her. Superdelegates were invented incase of something like this. The state delegates can be overridden by the superdelegates! THAT IS WHY THEY WERE INVENTED. TO PREVENT A LESSER CANDIDATE FROM LOSING. More people voted for her (after today by all possible counts) so why the hell should she get out of the race? Would you? I highly doubt it. She'd whomp John Mccain and Obama may lose to him. This is why we invented the SUPERS!

WE WILL NOT VOTE FOR " PASS THE BUCK OBAMA" AND HIS 100 " PRESENT". Obama DID NOT DO HIS JOB AS A SENATOR AND HE DID NOT DO A THING TO CHANGE WASHINGTON. Obama IS NOT PRESIDENTIAL MATERIAL!

HILLARY CAN NOT GIVE UP -SHE IS THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT.

First of all, people - stop with the racist, sexist, homophobic language. It does not become you.

Second of all, Perez, Hillary should stay in it until she loses. There's no reason to concede. She owes all of the people who have donated money and backed her and voted for her, to see this thing through and no bow to pressure. Would you want a president who would bow to pressure?

This is a classic Obama tactic. He won his first senate election by contesting the eligibility of all the other candidates on the ballot on technicalities and had them all removed from the ballot. He did it by contesting the eligibility of those who were on the nominating lists. If someone printed, instead of signed, their name, they had that name removed. If the person who signed them up was not a registered Democrat, then everyone they signed up was removed, EVEN IF THEY WERE REGISTERED DEMOCRATS. Ultimately, he removed all his competition. So…..let's not give him an easy ride this time. If he earns it, I will back him. He's a Democrat and we need a Democrat in office. At least I have respect for McCain, but its time for a Democrat.

Use facts not inflammatory language people to make your points and we'll all go home happy and dignified.

If the AP has the facts wrong, that's there fault, not Hillary's. She shouldn't concede tonight - no matter if Obama reaches the number or not. Obama supporters had better get it in their heads that the one sure-fire way to have a inter-party meltdown before November is to to be perceived by Clinton supporters as pushing Hillary around. Did any of you bother watching the reactions of her supporters in Washington on Saturday at the Rules Committee Meeting? I have no doubt she'll concede; pushing her to do it tonight is really foolish and dangerous for Democratic prospects in November.

Were the fuck are you people getting that she's winning the popular vote??!! Only if you use her cheating matematics could you come up with this and guess what- her math isn't based on a damn DNC measurement, not to mention a Federal Election standard. If you use Hillary's dilussional math, you will have to omit ALL the caucus states and caucus's from abroad. These places votes DO count too! Obama beats her in the popular vote as well as the only votes that matter when selecting a primary nominee- PLEDGED delegates. Besides, poular votes are only counted in the general election. You idiots need to quit listening to her- you sound just as delusional as her campaign, and the shit won't hold up in court.
