Beyonce's little sister, Solange, is coming out with a new album, and the first single, I Decided, is unlike anything the elder Knowles has done.
And, it's very different from everything else on the radio right now.
Smart!
I Decided is a slow to mid-tempo jam reminiscent of the girl group Motown era, and the video for the single reflects that very well.
It's cool, chill-out music for the summer. Something to listen to by the pool!

I like this song and I love the video. I don't think she is trying to be her sister she is trying to be her own person, but some people are probably not goin to see her for her cause they are always goin to compare her to her sister which is sad.

I thiknk the Neptunes produced song is fresh, and I am LOVING the video. Way more innovative and interesting than anything her sister has done of late.

I'm not sure how I feel about this song or the video. As a music business graduate, and member of a recording group I am not sure how well this would do. I am on the fence about the motown track. I am not on the fence though about Solange because I think that she needs to do a whole different genre of music so that she really stands out from her sister. They sound too similar and what will inevitably happen is one of two things which I see in the comments above mine: you think it would sound better if Beyonce released it or Solange sounds weak because she isn't her sister. My jadedness tells me that this song would be a hit if it was sung by someone else who had a larger range vocally and if the clapping sample to the Supreme's "Baby Love" was better handled. Mind you, recent hits these days take a couple of listens before they "grow" on you - like it or not…
Nice visuals, but the tune needs a melody. I don't expect this to be an on-air sensation or a club hit.
Try, try again. Or not.

Was not crazy about this on first listen, but thought the video was interesting.
Then later, I kept humming the chorus and couldnt get the song out of my head, so I went back and gave the video another viewing.
I DECIDED I really do like it and have already ordered this version and the Freemason's remix.

I did not like it. It seems like she is trying to play on the coat tail of her sister. It is from the same time as Dream Girls. They even made Solange up to look like her sister did in the movie. I don't think it is going to work. Very Boring, hard to get into.

Re: hyproc – what does her child have to do with anything!! Watch your mouth! And she was married to the man before the baby was born which constitutes her son to not be a bastard!! Sounds to me like you may have not known your father and are slightly bitter. Leave the babies out of it
