While not completely whoreanus, it's very bland and boring.
HOWEVER, that average and cheap-looking dress sells for almost TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS!!!!!

Lauren Conrad is selling that shit for $170.
We don't even need to ask you if you think that's worth that much. It's not!
We purposefully kept the prices very reasonable for all of the items in our new collection for Hot Topic.

This is just sad. I have seen more exciting clothes for $5.00 at Walmart.
theres a lot of clothing lines that have high prices, but they usually have better quality. anyways if she can sell it for that much more power to her.
Her clothes are ok, but I would never spend that much money on them when you can get something really similar at a cheap store (like Charlotte Russe or Forever21). Maybe the material is really good quality, but there is nothing special about her clothing line. Stuff like this makes me irate. I'm a fashion design student working my ass off in school - and if I tried to make anything this lame, my teachers would give me hell. Lauren is not a designer. She is a wannabe designer, who obviously only has a collection because of her celebrity status. Every single thing in her collection looks almost identical.
Don't even get me started on the prices.
The fabrics are cheap looking, the colors and styles are bland, and everything looks like it could be bought at Forever21. Designers are supposed to be innovative and creative. When I browsed through her "collection" it was like Deja vu…I've already seen all of these things. Not to mention the colors are boring as hell. If I'm only a student and I'm this critical, I'd love to hear what other people in the industry think about her "designs".
Overall, I would compare Lauren Conrad's collections to a piece of dry toast. LAME-O.

I won't lie from what I've seen I adore her clothes, but they are definitely not worth what they are being priced at.
I have bought 3 of LC's dresses and LOVE them all. Every single time I wear them (including tonight by the waitress) people compliment me. They are super comfortable and more importantly I feel good wearing them.
You know, her clothes aren't UGLY… they're just so plain. If she was a normal girl in design, she'd be working for someone who works for someone who works for a designer. There is absolutely no creativity in any of those pieces whatsoever. Makes this aspiring design student a bit depressed. really.
Looks like the same CRAP she wears on the show…those type of dresses are slowly going out of style……. She will never be a good designer like De la Renta, or Lagerfield…She should be the new designer for RAVE, the store in the mall for high schoolers, where everything is almost $9.99.

To be completely honest i really love all of her dresses but i honestly feel that she keeps the prices that high because she wants only the wealthy girls to buy them. Her clothing gets a better rep if "high class" girls/women are wearing them. I LOVE Lauren but it seems like she's going a bit too Hilfiger in the fashion world. (referring to Hilfiger's complaints on minorities wearing his clothing.)

The only girl dumb enough to pay $200 dollars for a solid colored, plain jersey/lycra dress is one who doesn't know the value of a dollar. These pieces can be found inside any mall in America (UNDER $25 at Forever 21). The reason 'her' line is being sold in boutiques is because women who shop in them don't think before they buy (if at all). It might cost a little more to be made in America but those materials aren't silk, leather or any other luxury fabric. There is no reason for that dress to ever be priced above $40 bucks. Lauren Conrad didn't work for anything she has. She is the dullest person ever put on TV with the least amount of style. I look forward to the day her luck runs out and her 15 minutes are up. She belongs in Laguna Beach married to some lame business type shuttling her kids to soccer practice in a late model SUV. She has no depth, no personality, no style. BORING.

That piece of fabric is NOT WORTH $150. Lauren realistically can't think she has a name in "hollywood" because she's on a creality…oh I mean a "reality" show and pretend she can design. Conrad, do a little research, training, learning, and if you want "everyday" humans to buy your clothing…I would think deeper. I can see it now…you want your "line" to be posted on some primary model and/or actress for some fame, that will never measure up. But to really please us "middle" class humans, just be realistic.

I agree about the price being insane. I think her clothes are cute, but not unlike items found in about a million other stores, for less then half the price. A few months ago I actually tried to order a sweater from her collection because it was exactly like one from a different designer……shocking…..that I loved but couldn't buy anymore in my size as it was lat years line………again…….no shocks there……her website would not allow me to complete the order, it clearly says it ships internationally, but when I entered in an international address everything would freeze up and not let me continue……so I emailed in my complaints and got one of those automatic replies, that read…"We received your inquiry and value your business. Expect a response within the next couple business days." So I waited……and gues what………..it never came……..i guess they don't value a Canadian's business. So that kinds of shiz, combined with her over priced, copycat clothing is why I would never support that. Any half ass stylish chick could design those clothes, just take a pad and pencil to the mall for the afternoon and voila……..oh and using a more expensive fabric does not make you a designing genious.
