Aww you don't look like you've hit a wall! Look closer…no more double chin. That's a good thing! I think it's all a matter of perspective. You look at yourself everyday so it's hard to notice the day-to-day changes, but look at your older posts from 3, 6, 9 months ago or whatever it takes. I think the reason less people are criticizing the media for 'outing' lindsay lohan is because her life is already so exhaustively covered, that people have forgotten she might deserve privacy. Everything is scrutinized - her substance abuse, work (or lack thereof), and sex life, more than most celebrities. More than Lance Bass was at the time of his 'outing.'
I haven't gotten the impression that the mainstream media condones Lohan's lesbian relationship more than Bass relationship. There's been a lot of homophobia and really awful, toxic things said about her and Ronson (including from this site, and that really sucks). I wonder if it would be different if she were dating a more feminine woman than Ronson.

that mainstream media not being held accountable for outing lohan the way you were for outing bass does have to do with a discriminatory bias. but i think it's moreso a bias towards a straight reporter over a gay one. you are seen as a traitor while people magazine etc. couldn't be considered such because IT (the whole magazine) is perceived as straight.

Differences in what is perceived as outing vs. reporting is an interesting issue. I agree with your intuition that the difference could be that some people feel less threatened by homosexual behavior in women than they are in men, so "outing" a woman isn't seen as as big of a deal as "outing" a man.

I'm all for gay people coming out but i'm sorry i do not undersatnd why they have to come out publicly loud and proud about their sexuality. For all you pro-gay peeps why does your sexuality have to be the key defining feature of who you are as a person. No one should be forced to talk about their sexuality especially considering how hard it is to come out in the first place. Going on about how gay you are is like christians going on how christian they are. The 'outing' issue… on one hand I think it's no one's business who one is intimate with, however, I *love* knowing who I can be relaxed around. Who is going to understand my mind set. Who is going to stand up and represent for those who can't. You may have caught 'shit', but you did TR a favor, and the rest of society, too. It's a quandary.

I'm a straight person, so, given that, I can only comment on what I see. I wonder if their relationship is more based on mutual drug use than anything else. If people think Samantha is a good influence, remember the picture of Lindsay, the last time before she went into rehab, asleep with her mouth wide open in Samantha's car after a night of partying, again. Lindsay is an addict, multiple rehab loser, and Samantha works in the club atmosphere, with drugs and alcohol that is literally DEADLY to Lindsay.

I think some of what you say about them is a little messed up. You've posted things in the past about how people are mean to gays, and how your against people being treated like shit for being gay. Well, even if Lindsay Lohan is gay, she's probably going through the same things every other gay person is going through, and saying shit about her, and pressuring her to come out of the closet, isn't helping her. If your gunna stand up for gay people, stand up for all of them, not just the non-celebrities.
I think you hit on a huge point, men being held to different standards, and I do believe it is true. Think about how much worse spitzer would have been, or clinton (the dude) for that matter if their "encounters" were with someone of the same sex, how much MORE of a scandal it would have been, but, on the flip side, say a story comes out (hypothetically) about HILLARY having "relations" with a female in her college years, or ever. I doubt it would hurt her reputation as much as it hurts the men.

Hey Perez, I am not perfectly clear on what you meant by the double standards but I think you meant that it is not such a big deal to out someone like Lindsay Lohan because most people feel it will be just a phase or that all girls experiment, whereas its a bigger deal to out a man. And if thats what you mean then I have to agree with you. I do think that sometimes there is a double standard but I also think that people view Lindsay Lohan as ridiculous and saying she might be a lesbian is just a new story in the crazy life of Lindsay Lohan. So personally I feel its a combination of both having double standards and the person who the stories are about. I have been reading some of the other posts and I have to agree with them as well. I think that as a person who is pro-GLBT you should be supporting the celebrities who have chosen to come out or who have been "outed" instead of drawing derogatory pictures on them. I love this site, I come here twice a day, but I do think you need to reevaluate your comments on some of the stories you put up.
