EWWWW! Why do idiots delude themselves with the idea that this poor kid will be normal? I really don't like this. I am one of the most open-minded people you could meet, but I think if she wanted to get pregnant and carry a baby, then she shouldn't have had the gender reassignment surgery. And if she really wanted the surgery to become a man, that's great, just don't get pregnant. The female body is designed to carry a baby. That's why we have breasts, and a uterus, and a vagina. This was just too risky, in my opinion. I believe they said on Oprah that the couple already lost one baby. If this baby is born healthy, than they got really lucky. But why risk it? Why not just have a healthy woman (who hasn't taken male hormones) to carry the child?
Everyone needs to understand yes he was born a women however he has legally become a Man. He is had his sex changed from female to male on all documents including his birth certificate. Legally he is a man even though that is not the gender he was born. I applaude him for becoming pregnant and facing all the attention. I believe it is important for everyone to have an open mind and respect him to take such a step so that he and his wife could have a biological child

ok question, this female decided that she wanted to be a man, but how did she/he get pregnant if she wanted to be with a woman. First scenario #1 - Wanted to have children, but wife cannot so she decides that hey since I'm really a woman, I can get pregnant and got pregnant through A.I. or IVF. Scenario #2 - had sex with a man and wound up pregnant. Either way I think this child is going to need lots of therapy.

I just find this really interesting that people are getting so upset about this and I want to know why? like, how does it affect them? A transgendered male wants to have a baby doesn't mean you're going to be sent to hell so what makes you get so angry? I'm not pointing fingers or anything I'd just like honest reasons. I just find it really weird. A group of sociologists took a poll of mine and the 6 universities closest to mine on this subject and in every school more than 80% supported this person or didn't care. I thought everywhere was like that.
I think it was incredibly selfish for this couple to take their story so public. It wasn't so much a "Hey, look, a pregnant man!" story, but a "Oh look how horribly we were discriminated against by doctors and our own family members for making this decision."
I can't see any signs that they've taken into consideration the hell their child is going to go through from all the publicity they've garnered. Kids are going to tease her at school, teachers are going to treat her differently, she might have trouble even finding a pediatrician. They're not doing right by their child AT ALL by putting themselves in the spotlight so much.
This person is referred to in the media as "the pregnant man" because such a sensationalist headline is sure to attract attention. As so many bloggers have pointed out, "he" is really a woman who has only gone a part of the way in gender reassignment surgery, etc. While one hopes that they will be able to live a normal family life, and the child will grow up well-adjusted, their courting of publicity and readiness to sell their story is questionable. If they really wanted their daughter to grow up without prejudice, why are they making sure that everybody knows about their circumstances, therefore ensuring that those who have difficulties with their lifestyle and choices can have a field day discriminating against them? They may get their 15 minutes of fame and some money, but it will probably be their daughter who pays for it all in the end.

First of all it's a transsexual not a transvestite, big diffrence. A transvestite is a guy, usually heterosexual who like to dress as a woman, trans sexual is one sex and wants to actually change to the other and has surgery. it actually would be possible for a man to carry a child, some women have had full term babies out side the womb, an etopic pregancy attached to the abdomen. but it's rare that it would stay viable without the baby or the mother (guy :p ) coming to harm. I know they are also working on /have done a uterus transplant in a woman. The guy obviously would have to have some type of surgical procedure to become implanted in the first place. I agree with you all. This is a woman who will forever have XX chromosones, no matter what she does to her body. She will NEVER be an XY. In my mind, she is a woman. However, if society decides to define people by their outward appearance, and not their genotype, than I suppose she is by these standards a "man." Still, it is certainly no shocker that a woman who rearranged her body, but maintained her uterus, can give birth. I could care less what she/he does, and honestly, I imagine they can give the baby a better home than a lot of parents out there. Some of these parents out there are unfit.
