I know 1980 for a lot of people seems like yesterday, but the divorce happened almost 30 years ago, people. Plus, both John and Carol went thru extremely tramatic events. John more so. By the time he was returned to the US, him and Carol had been apart a while and they were both very different people. It would have been very nice if they could have stayed together, but it is not at all surprising the feelings were no longer there. McCain has been a devoted husband, devoted American, and great politican for the last 30 years. That's a whole lot more than anyone can say for baby Obama and his racist, biggoted and America hating wife.

Perez before you want to start bashing him for getting a divorce maybe you want to look at something. Franklin D. Roosevelt was one of the greatest presidents in american history especially dealing with the depression and trying to straighten that out with the new deal and he also dealed with the attack on pearl harbor. Well long story short, he had affair after affair and one of them was his wifes secretary who was also by his side when he died. Now i think thats far worst then what John McCain did but FDR is never looked down upon because of it. You know why? Because he was a great president no matter what happened in his personal life. We don't need another President who is more concerned with his own personal ambition and legacy, then what is best for the American people. Bush wanted to be the savior of the Middle East, he wanted to leave a legacy against the advice of many of his advisors.

Some people have to realize - war changes a person. Not just being a PoW, which is much worse, many soldiers come home to a life they hate for no real reason. Especially when that life changes so drastically. Considering her injuries, I doubt their bedroom life was the same, and anyone who goes through a terrible accident such as she did won't be the same person either. Did he run around? Yes. It's quite possible. Were they both the same people with the same dreams after these events? Absolutely not. He married a beauty queen because that's who he could attain and loved. For it being such a "sham" wedding, it's certainly lasted quite a while.
