OMFG Perez, that was effing fabulous! I want to have a dance party with you! So anyway you are so right that gastric bypass is not for you. My belief is that it is not for anyone under the age of 50, because I believe you can do it on your own before then. My mother had it around 50 and she had struggled with the weight, way more weight than you ever had all her life and there was no other way she was ever going to loose it. Kudos to you for taking the high road and making a life change rather than just losing the weight to put it back on. And Michael Moore is a god, and he is so totally right about the drug companies running our country and making money off of keeping us sick rather than finding cures to things like CANCER and AIDS.

I totally understand your hesitation for having surgery. But I think you may need to re-think your comment about "earning" your weight loss.
People that have Gastric Bypass or Lap Band "earn" theirs just the same.
Before I can have surgery I had to lose at least 20% of my total body weight and more before the procedure.
I have to maintain an active lifestyle that includes a strict and carefully planned life change of new eating habits and working out on a daily if not every other day basis.
I know it may sound like a "quick fix" but it is anything but quick.
I just thought that maybe you wouldn't think it so trivial next time.
Congrats on your hard work, it really is paying off, you look really great!!!

I cannot honestly say that I am a huge fan of yours, but I do look at the site maybe once or twice a week and I can definitely tell you have lost some weight. I myself have decided to embrace a healthy lifestyle and I agree about the surgery thing. Its cool for some but not for everyone. Plus it doesn't teach you anything about nutrition or physical fitness. Keep up the good work, and try to be a little nicer to match the new improved physical you.
Perez if you think having weight loss surgery is not "Earning" your weight loss you are highly missinformed! I have earned my weightloss and i had the lap band as a tool to do so. Do your research it is not the easy way out and you still have to work out and eat the proper foods to be successful. shame on you for lumping your way as the "Earned" way. I have been really inspired by your fitness reports and so at the end of April I started with the healthy eating and working out too. Screw Optifast, screw surgery, screw stupid supplements that don't even work - I'm doing this the healthy way by working out 5 days a week with reduced food intake, cutting out junk, and picking high-nutrition food. I have lost 12 pounds in the past 6 weeks and there's no way I'm slowing down!! KEEP UP THE AWESOMENESS!!!
