Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards are still fighting over the immunization of their two little girls.
Denise wants them immunized. Charlie does NOT.
According to reports, the doctor for the kids has been siding with Denise.
Charlie's not backing down, though. Sheen's lawyer sent a letter to the pediatrician telling the doc that he'll be hit with a lawsuit if the kids get pricked.
Tough call!
There are pros and cons for both sides.
We think Denise and Charlie just like to fight about anything and everything. In public.

Good for Charlie. Its easy to say yes to vaccines when your kids are normal. Thats what i did, now she is not normal. Go ahead and make your comments but my kid had a febrile seizure after vaccines, stopped talking and has had daily therapy ever since. No reason these very affluent healthy girls cant wait to get vaccines until they are older or not at all.
Interesting how this thread has turned into a pros vs. cons list. The truth in all this is that if Sheen or Richards REALLY cared about their kids, they would quit this constant fighting ( especially in the press).
They are both too dumb to be arguing over anything other than "I want what he/she doesn't". Neither is fit to be a decent parent.

Immunizations DON'T cause autism. The complete shit we feed our kids does.
There is no scientific evidence that ties Autism to immunization. With that said, there is evidence that in some cases there maybe be an underlying genetic marker that can trigger autism in some children. That's a tough one, but in the majority of cases immunization is safe. On the flip side, diseases such as Polio can ruin or end someone's life as well. A woman recently died after living in a tank for over 50 year, she died in a power outage. I would rather take my chances with immunization than without it.
Actually, every state except Virginia has exemptions that will allow children who have not had their immunizations the right to a free public education.

I've been alive to see the devastation some of those diseases they immunize for cause in children who were not fortunate enough to be immunized. They would be at risk in the U.S. and especially abroad if they travelled when they got older. Simply getting a gaurantee that these immunizations are FREE of thimerosol would be an intelligent compromise. Read Rolling Stone article by Robert F. Kennedy, archives, on the subject. Parents need to make informed decisions, but its unreasonable to throw the baby out with the bathwater.
Anyone with a brain would NOT have their children vaccinated. Do some research and learn about the ill effects of these vaccinations and their ingredients. My perception of Charlie has gone up 1000%. He is the smart one in that relationship.

If there was a definite, definite case-closed connection between Autism and the shots there would be even more kids affected and a lot more would be done. Actually it's not really a tough call- the benefits of immunization far outweigh the risks. It has never been proven that immunizations cause autism, and even if they do, they prevent huge numbers of deaths from preventable diseases. I don't like Denise or Charlie, but I find it very strange that you are so violently against Denise when Charlie is a known to be a total scumbag. I can't help but wonder if money has changed hands somewhere…

We are too quick to pick our kids with needles not realizing the consequences of our actions and wonder why autism rates have gone through the roof. Look at Gardisil…it was pegged to be the next wonder immunization against cervical cancer. It was not tested enough and reports are out that it's safety for girls is in serious question. I love the "Doctors" on here that are saying autism has been proven not to be linked to vaccinations. Of course they will say that….they are being paid by the pharmaceutical companies to say that. Also, it is easy to talk shit and judge Sheen or anybody when you are just an onlooker. And it may/may not have been "scientifically proven", but when you personally see your child breaking down in front of you (literally weeks after being vaccinated) all the scientific evidence in the world means NOTHING…..
this whole immunization issue is very scary — until there are proper tests on the toxicity of immunization, one will never really have an accurate answer to whether children are getting ill, autism, etc from them.

Re: Longtimegone – You are one of the lucky ones. I personally believe that autism has several factors that makes one more likely to contract it. I think that a person with autism is more reactive to chemicals in their environment (including those that we eat with our food and those in processed foods), genetics that have yet to be found, and the shots. When all three factors (and possibly more) are present it creates the perfect storm. I am glad that your kiddos are healthy.
I also question the government, what would happen if they linked autism to vaccines? By requiring children to be vaccinated, they put a lot of liability on themselves. That would cost many of BILLIONS of dollars.
As a family nurse practitioner, I have assured many of my pediatric patients' parents that vaccines have been free of the preservative thought to provoke autism in children for at least 5 years. Anyone that still believes the vaccine rumours is risking their children's health, as there has been a slight increase in certain vaccine-preventable disease in the last few years. And many pediatricians will ask the parents of their patients to switch to another provider if they refuse standardized childhood vaccinations. Finally, more proof that Charlie Sheen is a Dumb-A*%!

It's unfortunate that a small but vocal group have caused parents to question what is a safe and vital way to keep our children safe and healthy. Immunizations absolutely NEED to be re-examined and sorted out using today's technology and more advanced studies. People do not like to be herded unquestioningly into a possible travesty. Gulf War soldiers have had many unwanted ramifications from shots given prior to going overseas. Until the root cause of rising autism has been determined, I would be hesitant. It's just too bad that Charlie and Denise couldn't have put their heads together and adopted a QUIET, united, wait and see attitude where their own children are concerned. It's wrong on his part to turn his kids into yet. another. public issue, or public ’cause', considering his and Denise's never ending back history. This so-called "epidemic" is really the result of an expanded and vague criteria for the diagnosis of autism. I have Asperger's (a sort of high-functioning autism), so I fully understand why parents are so desperate to find a convenient cause, but not vaccinating your kids is a threat to public health, as shown by the long-cured diseases that are popping up again. I was actually bed-ridden nearly all winter with whooping cough! So everyone vaccinate your kids, and adults need to be getting their boosters, too!

Very simply vaccinations save lives. The reason parents see a link between autism and vaccinations is because the age when children receive the vaccinations is the same age when autism is usually diagnosed. Correlation is not the same as causation. There is no evidence that they are related. If they were there would be a much wider epidemic that would affect girls at the same rate as boys. However it is true that parents not vaccinating their children is tied to the sudden rise of measles outbreaks. Here in NY its been awful. Vaccinations save lives. Think how many people were killed all over the world due to smallpox and now it is gone thanks to a vaccine. People shouldn't keep their children from receiving medical care that has been proven to save lives because of an irresponsible and unproven theory.
I love how people who don't get immunized say things such as: "oh i'm fine, and i didn't get any immunizations" as if somehoe this means that no one NEEDS to get immunized….. let me just say the only reason they are FINE is because the general population AROUND THEM does get immunized. it is called HERD IMMUNITY.

It's like this, NO ONE knows what causes autism. Could it be the mercury that used to be in the shots? Maybe? Could it be processed foods we eat? Maybe, could it be genetic? Maybe. The truth is people, no one knows. There is such a broad spectrum of autism diagnosis out there, it includes everything from social intergration disordered, to aspurgers to mentally challanged. We have know clue what causes it. The vaccines have been tested and proven safe. If you feel uncomfortable about it, then ask your doctors to break the shots up into different times. Just be informed. Don't hate people who do or don't vacinate. It was a tough call for me, but I chose to vacinate my daughter, because I was too scared not too. We are all trying to do the best we can and what we don't need is people hating other people for their choices. TEAM DENISE ON THIS ONE.

Immunizations are one of the most barberic things we have created in the world. Why would we want to inject mercury, aluminum, formeldahyde, antifreeze, and things like chicken embryos, monkey kidney, and aborted fetal tissue into our bodies, especially our childrens? Those two will do anything for press, but this is actually a big deal. A lot of parents are split about this, and it's the children that are suffering. It's no longer good enough for the FDA to say "it's OK," they need to prove it. there are overwhelming pros vs the cons when it come to vaccines. i did my homwork and it's definitely better toget vaccinations. it may be wise to push them back a few months or so,not necessarily so close together. disease and childhood deaths and handicaps have been greatly reduced due to vaccines.

my four boys all had vaccines and they are thriving and will be able to go to college……..
