According to sources at Lauryn Hill's Norway concert this weekend, her crazy demands are even more out of control. Apparently she demanded that all her security guards be black, none of them could look at her–even from backstage, no one around her could speak to her unless she speaks to them first, and no one could walk past her backstage. Chick clearly has some issues.
When one security guard forgot one of the rules and said something to her, she allegedly lost her damn mind and started throwing water bottles at him. And after the power went out in the venue–Lauryn refused to continue once the power came back on. Folks had to get a refund.

Amongst many others, I still feel that Lauryn Hill's album 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill' is a timeless classic and through her music she demonstrates a high degree of intellect in regards to various social issues.
I condone racism and we only need to look at history, i.e. the enslavement of Africans and their shipping to the Americas and Caribbean, apartheid in South Africa, segregation in the US and racial tensions in the UK etc to see the pernicious effects of racism and discrimination.
I feel that Lauryn Hill's insight into racism and various social ills have somehow manifested into bitterness, resentment and it is obvious that she is struggling with her success, identity and probably her mental health and it is a shame that this very talented woman has been unable to mantain and improve her success, reputation and actually ostracise fans.
Interestingly, when Lauryn Hill won a record number of Grammies for 'The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill', the Daily Mail (a rather horrid right wing 'upmarket' tabloid newpapers in the UK) chose to put a picture of Madonna (who had appeared at the awards ceremony as well) on the front page instead of a picture of Lauryn Hill (which I would argue would have been more appropriate that Lauryn Hill won five Grammies, beating Madonna for Album of the Year).
Yes, racism is inexcusable but then it often seems that white people will speak up most readily against it when they are (far less often than the other way round) on the receiving end but less upfront when it is perpetrated by one of them.
We cannot change history but if white people had been en masse stolen from the UK, US, other European countries etc and sold into slavery, separated from their families, raped by their slavemasters and forced to bear their children, branded like animals and then generations later when they are 'free', still have to deal with the systematic and endemic discrimination that still exists, perhaps their mental health would be tested in the way that many ethnic minority individuals currently suffer…
