My 25 yr old son was KILLED by an acquaintance, 28, driving 80 instead of the recommended 25 around a curve 30 seconds from our home in 2004. He's in prison now for 5 1/2 yrs. NOT ENOUGH FOR ME. That guy was on probation for a previous DUI he'd done NOTHING the judge told him to do, almost 2 yrs previously.
John's parents are close to where I am. Their son will NEVER be the same. I founded and run a nonprofit for high-risk youth.

They are truly LUCKY young Nick is only looking at a couple of months. GIVE ME A BREAK. When I heard HULK, yuk…. say he didn't know what John had done to bring this on, I almost had heart failure…. YOUR SON BROUGHT THIS ON YOU IDIOT!!! WTF???? AND YOU PROVIDING AN ENVIRONMENT OF NO DISCIPLINE!
My boy told me at 19 about his friends, and I almost had heart failure when he said this at 19, "What do you expect, they have no discipline." Kids need boundries. I thought it would take him till he was a bit older to understand me being SO strict, making him go to school EVERY day, no license till he was 18…for instance!!!! I’m done!

all of you aholes out there criticizing this whole situation, are most likely hipocrites. i know that myself, growing up, made a lot of stupid decisions that could have ended up badly like this one. fortunately, nothing did. we all live and learn and put ourselves in irresponsible situations where horrible things are possible. in this case something did happen. i hope the kid hurt gets better and both families are able to heal.
get off their backs. seriously. put yourself in their position. have some compassion. focus more on helping the kid get better.
I'm a journalist and I respectfully believe everything that this honest man says. I have had friends who have met him and said how nice and caring he is. He is a genuine person and I believe that we all need to pray for hulk his family and for the graziano family…the media is cruel…the media is cruel!!! Much love Hogan family!!!!

I feel so bad for Hulk. He loves his kids so much and he is basically helpless in this situation. He didnt do anything wrong. Nick was behaving irresponsibly, but he is a teenager, certianally that is not unforgivalbe? I do feel that the victims family may be trying to take advantage of the position Hulk is in to better their own financial situation. That is just my gut feeling. Obviously my heart goes out to the poor boy in the hospital, he did nothing to deserve this and should be in everyones prayers.

Tragic, tragic. These events are part of the deal when you sell your soul to Hollywood. I feel for him and most of the poor tragic souls whom we call celebrities. I myself will admit that I am absolutely intrigued with their dramas and it wasn't until I saw this interview that I realized that what we are watching is the decline of these people's lives and souls. I am feeling guilty now.

For fuck sake, the kid got 8 months in jail for putting someone in a coma that they will never wake from! It's not like he is going to spend the rest of his life in jail, at most he'll spend 4 months in jail! The Hogan family makes me sick.
So what he gets on TV and cries, it doesn't take back his cruel words, it doesn't take back what his son did, and it doesn't take back their actions after the fact. God also gave us free will to choose between right and wrong.. he did not choose for your son to get behind the wheel of that car under the influence of alcohol you purchased for him and drive like an idiot and wrap his car around a tree and in effect kill his "best friend". It's hard to watch a man cry. Hulk probably is a great guy with a good heart. He loves his family, but somewhere along the way, the love of money took over a bit too. Stuffs gone bad for that family. Dark times. I'm not gonna say they deserve it cos I doubt they do. I think the young boy made some very bad choices and now the whole family is suffering. They need to focus as a family and forget money-making deals and 'celebrity' right now. Just go away and sort yourselves out.
God gave Adam & Eve Free will to think, and do on their own. Then as time went on, the only thing God has asked of us is to follow his commandments. Hulks comments on it being Gods will is ridiculous, and a cop out to still not admit Nick was at fault. To know that if he went back to the ring at WWE he would get booed, American Gladiator employees ignoring him, and people finally seeing how he really is, that still hasn't phased him. Keep in mind, when he was a wrestler, he was a good actor, and the little crying episode was only part of that. lol notice how hard it was getting for him to fake it. If there is ever a lesson to learn from any of this, it's that when you raise your family on fame and fortune, they become desensitized. Linda's with a 19 year old, hurting her kids, but it's all about the publicity and sex, Nick's only care is for a reality series on his own, making a buck off John, and Hulk is using the bad press to push his new Wrestling project. Meanwhile I think the only one getting f'd up by all this is Brooke.

Re: SAD – that is true in a respect, but it is also the drivers responsibility that when you get behind the wheel to make sure all passengers are wearing their seatbelts before you take off. If they refuse, then you refuse to drive them point blank. When you are in a car, the driver assumes all responsibilities, from making sure you are buckled, to driving safely and within the speed limit, not at 100 mph.
Clearly it was God's plan. Accidents happen, God happens. He has a plan for everything. Everyone can't die/be injured the same way. Life has to be different and God has a plan for everything/everyone.
With that being said I love the Hogans, they hold a special place in my heart. I wish nothing but the best for all of them. AND DON'T act like that kid sitting in the passenger seat was telling Nick to stop. This is what kids do, dumbasses.

I watched most of it, and when confronted about those VERY TELLING taped phone conversations, he didn't say shit! He never showed compassion OR sorrow to the other family. He never ONCE said ANYTHING bout that spoiled brat Nic being responsibil or sorry for what he has done . He did not EXPLAIN the shit they said in the phone conversations either IMO. I think saying it's God's plan for anyone to be hurt, is kind of off. But I will say that I believe this is a learning school and maybe this tragedy is helping numeroussouls in their spiritual growth. Young people do stupid things ALL the time. A lot of them feel that they will live forever. A lot of people are just LUCKY enough to escape tragic things such as this. What happened to John is VERY sad, but he was there. He went racing and he didn't wear his belt. It's tragic ALL around and if you don't feel that way, you may want to ask yourself why you like to judge and condemn others that you don't know and that are suffering? He must be feeling very guilty and that's HIS SON no matter what. It's not like we're talking about some dark soul serial killer.

I feel bad for hulk and his family. Obviously what his son did WAS an accident. Why would he do that on purpose. The kid that got into the car with Nick knew Nick was a car racer…they were friends. Do you know how many people this happens too? Nick made a dumbass decision, but so did John. He wasn't held against his will, he didn't get out of the car, he chose to drink and race with Nick. Jess, Russ and whoever else–if Hulk actually loved his son, he wouldn't claim John must have done something to deserve this. This implies his son is "special" because he walked away unscathed.
If Hulk loved his kid, he'd be telling to get on his hands and knees and be grateful he was alive. He would insist the emphasis is on John, not Nick's short stint in a cushy jail. If Hulk loved his son, he wouldn't have bought him alcohol to begin with and partied with him–he would have been a father.
Hulk doesn't need your understanding and compassion. If he hit you in his car and you were in a wheelchair, he'd tell you that you deserved it. It amazes me how gullible people are and how misplaced compassion can be.
