Origato!
Hello Japan!!
Reese Witherspoon visited Tokyo on Wednesday.
The actress was in town not to promote a movie but in her role as an Avon Global Ambassador.
Following traditional Japanese tea ceremony, GyllenHO's main girl met women who are breast cancer survivors.
Such a good girl!

Oh Shoot…….your japanese translator must have had the day off.
That's ok…we still ruv you.
ARIGATO
one o no u's (the u is commonly mistranslated but the extra O instead of A is just dumb perez lol)
Origato, lol
Aww, she looks lovely
Actually, it used to be that when a woman said "thank you", a very formal phrase was used: "arigato gozai mas". I'm not sure what the current manners dictate in Japan right now, but usually the phrase was used by women only and men used the shorter and less formal "arigato".
Also if you look at Reese's kimono, it's definitely a summer kimono because of the colors and flowers on it. The Japanese are very artistic and when women wear kimono, their choices are made according to the season. And since this is a particularly colorful kimono, it might just be the sort of kimono a maiko (apprentice gei-sha) might wear. Apprentice geishas wear much more colorful kimono than older geisha, who wear darker and more muted colors.
It's a fascinating subject. Can you tell I like it?
Re: Chiya –
That depends on which transcription you use.
With the transcription we learn at university it's actually neither arigato nor arigatou, but arigatô.
And it's NEVER origato, Perez.
It'a Arigatoo not Origato

ペレーズは脂肪質の粗悪品である。
Re: Gwen –
Apparently you're the idiot here. True it is a furisode, however, they're not wrong in calling it a kimono either. A furisode is just the name of the TYPE of kimono it is.
Also, it's probably not photoshopped - that's just the look that happens due to the white collar. Happens when I wear my kimono too.
"Arigatou, Perez….sheesh, you're ignorant sometime"
Actually its sometimes not sometime…who's ignorant now?
It's Arigato, not origato.
she looks great . She seems really cool, in a down to earth way , I hope she and Jake make it . They seem like a good couple
it's ArigatoU you fuckhead!! D:
Yeah, won't be the first one to tell you this but…. Please use google a bit more often… it's sooooooo useful you know!
Arigato, please.
Reese looks beautiful!!
Damn her for being so perfect!!!
I'do her in a heartbeat
It's Arigatou, not 'origato'. Get your Japanese right.
You retard, it's arigato
It's arigato dumb ass.
Re: katty –
yea except you don't seem to know much about it because that isn't a kimono, it's a furisode. the sleeves are too long to be a kimono. dumb ass.
It's arigato, BETCH.
Re: Fiona – And here you are wrong… kimono, the kanji for it and the word itself literally means thing to wear (着= (KI) WEAR 物= (MONO) THING). Yukata (summer cotton kimono, literally bathrobe), furisode, houmongi, komon, bridal furisode, juuni hitoe - they all are kimono, just different TYPES.
Seriously, look up the subject before you talk like that. Again, FURISODE is a subcategory of kimono. A simple trip to wikipedia could have told you that.
However, do I think it's the type of kimono a maiko wears, no - if it were, and these pictures are recent, it's very out of season (Ume = Jan/Feb flower - on a non-ro kimono). It's absolutely just a high class furisode.
Re: Caite –
I do second you 100% on that. God folks READ your books when you open them before bashing on everyone!!
And Argh! I'd kill for that furisode!
she has socks on aswell,,,amazing!
!!!!!!!!!!!PEREZ, WHY CAN'T YOU AND YOUR ILLITERATE STAFF FUCKING SPELL????? IT'S ARIGATO - NOT ORIGATO. YOU GUYS NEED TO CHECK OUT DICTIONARY.COM SOMETIME….OR GO BACK TO ENGLISH CLASS. QUIT MISPELLING WORDS!!!!!!!!
ありがとう
God you make us Japanese people look dumb, it's ARIGATOU!!
Please tell me that you meant arigatou (arigato, or arigatoo as sometimes romanised [ありがとう。」.
I live in Japan and keep up with your site. Please do not break my head like this.
