Everyone's trying to be a singer these days.
The latest person trying? That's Hairspray star Nikki Blonsky.
Well, at least she can actually sing!
Blonsky is working on her first album. In a recent interview she said, "It's something I really want to nurture. My album will probably be a mix of Stevie Nicks, Melissa Etheridge, and Sheryl Crow meets a little Linda Eder. You can expect everything from horns to electric guitars, a mix of big band with a bit of rock-n-roll."
Sounds like our kind of music - gay gay gay!
She also mentioned that she'll be co-writing all of the songs.

Adds Blockey, "Unlike a movie, it's not written for you, so I want to make sure it’s something that really comes from my heart. When I’m ready to release it, you bet I’ll be releasing it in style."
Well let's hope she makes some money cause she might be paying up soon.
Nikki's former managers are suing her and claiming that they never received any payment or royalties after they secured her role on Hairspray.
The former managers are claiming that Nikki and her mom kept all the money and didn't pay up according to their contract. And when their contract ran out a few months before she began filming, they verbally agreed to renew.
Yea, money turns people into greedy bitches!

I don't get what all the hate is about. I met Nikki and her mom a few weeks after Hairspray came out and they're both genuine people. You people gotta realize that she was NOBODY before she got cast in Hairspray. The management agency probably got greedy when one of their clients booked a major gig and tried to extort as much money as possible from her.
And she's fat. Um, duh. They wanted a fat actress to play the part. She's still get minimum wage at the ice cream place if she was skinny.
Ugh. What a fat ass. We could feed the entire country of Africa out of her.

Wow, I made the mistake of reading some of the comments, and I am stunned that people can be so cruel. I shouldn't be surprised, really, because it seems that these days everyone forgets that things said online are still public comments and still hurt people. Would you people say this to someone in person? Would you like someone to talk about you like this? You may not be overweight, but you are for damn sure not perfect. You may have a big nose, crooked teeth, be going bald, bad breath, be flat chested, have a sub-par IQ, BO, hairy back, be too short or too tall, or a million other things that make you inadequate and in need of bolstering your own confidence by hurting someone else. Hurting them in the convenience anonymity of the internet. Really brave. Really mature. Really intelligent. Really disappointing.
